This is the cutest little candy shop I’ve ever seen! It’s easy to miss since it’s so small, but I knew it was there thanks to the MyBallard blog. You’ll find all sorts of goodies here. Everything from super unusual stuff I’ve never seen(Chicken Bones) to good old favorites like Pop Rocks, Nerds, and licorice. They have plenty of bulk candies to choose from and all sorts of fancy candy bars, like Vosges. The woman who works here seems really nice and was busy restocking some of the candy when we came by. This is a great spot for a candy break while shopping in Ballard.

Who can you say no to candy?! I stumbled upon Rotten Tooth when I was shopping at Blackbird last month. I was feeling a little left out as my boyfriend and I shopped because most of the stores nearby cater to men’s needs. Men’s clothes, men’s accessories, men’s soaps and lotions, etc. Well, what about ME?! We turn the corner upon exiting Blackbird(heading to yet another men’s store) and low and behold… an adorable candy shop! It’s owned and operated by the Blackbird folks but it’s all candy. Pop rocks, Nerds, Fun Dip and all those other nostalgic, cavity-causing candies. In addition to selling candy they even have candy shaped containers and accessories. Basically this is a great spot to stop, spend a few bucks, and get some of that candy that was your favorite back when you were 12. It’s a win-win! After buying some sticky snacks I was ready to keep shop, shop, shopping.

I’ll admit I was a wee bit disappointed when I stopped by Rotten Tooth yesterday. It’s entirely my fault, whenever I think«candy store,» something from Roald Dahl’s «Boy» comes to mind, with visions of lollipops and peppermints and chocolates dancing in my head. Nevertheless, they’re off to a good start, with a pretty decent selection of hard candy, some unusual stuff I hadn’t seen before, and some candies that aren’t all that easy to find(such as Fun Dip and Nerds). Although the glass case was inexplicably filled with stuff you can get out of a vending machine. Are Snickers thieves rampant in Ballard? I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how the store expands its selection in the coming months.

Fun, fun, fun! This itty bitty candy store, brought to us by the fabulous folks at Blackbird is just what Ballard needed. Nostalgic candy containers, a scale, and Empire Ice cream. I spoke with them today and they’re working on getting some more treats in there soon and filling the shelves with deliciousness… Next time you’re in the ‘Llard, make sure you swing by. It’s just too sweet to pass up!
