Vanessa is a talented colorist! I came in after needing a color correction after getting all over color that no stylist seemed to be able to match as it grew out. Every time I went to other salons to get my roots done I ended up with a new band of different color on my roots or darker all over color than I arrived with. Finally, since I couldn’t find the right colorist to keep me looking natural, I was ready to give up on being a redhead :(So I started asking women with great natural looking hair color if their color was natural and who their stylist was. Finally someone recommended Vanessa and raved about how she can stretch out going to the salon to get her roots done to as long as three months because her multi color highlights and lowlights looked so natural as they grew out. I was able to get in for an appointment within four days. She took the time to give me a thorough consultation and walked me through what she was going to do and explained her suggestions. She took my hair from orange high maintenance mess to natural looking highlights/​lowlights beautiful strawberry blonde that doesn’t need constant touchups. She did this by using up to five colors all expertly applied and leaving out tiny bits of my already colored hair to look as natural as possible. And it looks great. It has been a few weeks since my first appointment and the color still looks as good as the first day. I am so happy to have finally found a talented colorist. Thanks Vanessa!

I had requested an edgy modern haircut at a big name salon in Seattle but I was given the same haircut I was always given instead. Bored with the same haircut, two weeks later I looked for a new hairstylist. Some people have the shape of face to look good with any haircut, I don’t have that luxury so I was willing to pay for someone who took care of how they cut each layer. Agnes delivered: the haircut was something completely different I had ever done, I felt good, and the haircut received lots of compliments.

Asked Siri for a salon near my home and found Salon Rules. I dropped by on the off chance there was an opening.
Everyone was booked, but left with an appointment to see Katie in a couple days. That was cool.
SR is small, modern, good music, friendly — nice vibe.
The short story: Katie gave great service, great haircut and is reasonably priced. Highly recommend Katie and Salon Rules.

I went to Salon Rules for the first time a few weeks ago. I had a really great experience. The Salon itself is quite intimate, very clean, and polished looking. All of the stylists were extremely friendly, and I felt comfortable and taken care of the moment I sat down.
I went to see Leah, who is new to Salon Rules though she has been my stylist for a couple of years. She was originally recommended to me by a coworker, and we both loved her work so much that we’ve convinced half of our department to go see her. Now I’ve followed her to Salon Rules from her previous salon because I doubt I could trust anyone else with my thick, frizzy, temperamental hair.
I have always been greatly impressed with Leah’s skilled coloring technique, especially her use of balayage and ombré. She has also been able to save my locks numerous times from botched at-​home dye jobs, for which I am eternally grateful. I appreciate how she always works with me to find a trendy style that is right for face shape and hair type.

I followed my stylist Leah to Salon Rules, and as usual, I am so glad I did! She came from a salon in Ballard, and the new location is closer to home and has free parking. Leah is a wonderful stylist, and really gives me a great cut every time. I have curly hair, and it lays so well after she cuts it. She is so welcoming and friendly, I always enjoy my visits with her. I always ask her advice on hair styles and products and am never disappointed. I will follow Leah to any salon in Seattle!

Have been looking for a great hairdresser since I moved here, I have been to many salons and have not had great experiences. Agnes is not only fab with hair cuts and other hair treatments, but she is also a really cool person, who is super creative and makes the most awesome jewelry and more.
That just makes an interesting and savvy hair stylist, and a kind of person I am happy to trust my tresses to. Makes for fun conversations too.
Salon is cute and modern, with easy parking just around the corner.

This salon RULES! It is so refreshing not to feel like cattle moving through impersonal large salons. Rules is hip, intimate, perfectly lit, another nice change, and Agnes really listens and has amazing attention to detail. If you’re looking for a salon experience and not another «beauty chore» do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a visit to Salon Rules.

Having just moved to Seattle, getting a good hair stylist was high on my list of important things to do. Luckily I got it right on the first try. Agnes is great: friendly, knowledgeable, has a good eye for color and, best of all, is talented with the scissors. We played it a bit safe style-​wise on the first cut until she gets to know my hair better. So I am saving the fifth star for when she gets creative and gives me something new that is fabulous.

Great salon. Personable, professional, and worth the money. Agnes was great and even called me when an earlier opening became available. I will certainly go back.

I had the brazilian blowout and a haircut by Kate looooved the results she was very professional and for the first time I have bangs… I will definitely be back and highly recommend this salon… I also love the fact that it’s a small and intimate place you don’t get lost in the shuffle… I left loving my hair and feeling fabulous.

Agnes is amazing and has never let me down. She is stylish, talented, and has an ability to read my mind when it comes to my hair. She knows that I am super picky and goes at great «lengths» to make sure my color and cut are SUPERB. I get compliments weekly on my hair, regardless of how recent I had my hair cut.
Her new salon is just as fabulous and stylish as she is. She has made my hair look better than it ever has. Great parking, awesome colors and just a great, chic space. Agnes is the best! I’ve been going to her for almost 10 years and have never left the salon feeling less than fabulous. She’s welcoming, professional and effortlessly talented. Couldn’t ask for more. Even when I’m not sure which direction I want my hair to go in she knows for me, which I love. I’ve referred friends to her for years and never seen a dissatisfied customer. Best haircut I have ever had! No, seriously, I am headed back. Katie gave me a great cut that really compliments my head — seriously, no joke. And her hands are amazing, best scalp massage on the planet! Go, just have her hands work your noggin!

I just got my hair finished at Rules and it… rules. I got it colored originally at zero zero salon in Capitol Hill and it was a mess. Ken, the stylist had to color it twice because he just had no idea what happened when my hair turned out red. I was so upset and came home crying when my dad told me that Agnes was a genius. Turns out, she is. My hair is absolutely the color I wanted and I will never go back to zero zero after seeing how clean Rules is. Thanks :)

I have been going to Agnes (stylist/​owner) for over 10 years and am so excited that she has opened her own salon! She is a talented stylist who gives perfect cuts and flawless highlights. She seems to know when you need a little something different w/​out doing anything that is out of your comfort zone because she takes the time to get to know you and what works for you. I am particular about my hair and I have always been happy w/​the cuts and color I get from Agnes. The new salon is great w/​a stylish, upbeat décor but relaxed atmosphere! And it’s close to the Village so you can go shopping after getting your hair all pretty, what’s better than that! Check out salon rules… it rules!

Salon rules– oh yeah it does! Agnes is an amazing stylist. She really has an intuitive ability to decipher what you want even when you say something really non-​descript like, «I want something totally different! Sassy, Spunky, but I don’t know, maybe I’ll just let my hair grow out…» She thinks about her client’s personal style, facial features, face shape, etc. If she thinks you are veering towards disaster she won’t hesitate to let you know either! Agnes also has a great knack for coloring & highlights. I’ve recommended her to numerous people who have complimented me on my hair & now they are loyal clients too! Nothing seems to make Agnes happier than to know she helped you feel spectacular walking out of her salon. And trust me, you will feel spectacular!
