I have bought lenses and frames at Costco(where I am a member) for years, I went here because they are the provider for my insurance. Even without my insurance payment, I can save almost 50% by going to Costco, foregoing my insurance reimbursement. When I contacted Spectera(my insurance company claims processor), they told me when I characterized my experience where they pushed me into the most expensive lenses like a sleazy car salesman that they heard that a lot about Sam’s Club. I also paid far less going to a different independent optician. On the good side, they will help size your frames. The optometrist is pretty good but completely ignored me when I told him I was unhappy with progressives and preferred a lined bifocal.

I loved the optometrist I saw, he’s the one that does Dshs patients. But I had the worse experience with one of the ladies that does contacts and fits glasses she was so unprofessional and kept talking about how sexy her daughter was. I was offended the whole time. I tried to change the subject numerous, times. But somehow the subject kept going back to her hot daughter. I’m a woman and I felt no need to hear about all the men she had gone on dates with and how she used them for hand bags. I just didn’t want to sit there again so I didn’t come back for frames or lenses will go to Costco next time. As for the optomestrist he gave me a thorough exam and was very nice.

Sams club optical has been my go to optometrist for 10 yrs. The reason I stay with them is because of Dr Jones. He is great at what he does. I’m not an easy contact lens wearer and he has fitted me perfectly for many yrs. I would follow him wherever he goes. Sams is real competitive on Contacts and glasses and I’ve always been pleased. If there is a problem a quick stop in visit is always worked into the schedule. I’m very pleased.

There’s a great staff on hand here, with unparalleled customer service. Although it gets very busy at times, they give the same attention to everyone, they are fully aware you are there so don’t feel like you’re being ignored. They inform the members what to expect, they’ll help you choose frames if needed. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. The Optometrists they have are great and also funny. Exams are generally 30 – 45 minutes long, that’s actually pretty fast compared to other places. They carry the high end lenses that private practices carry at even a far lesser price. It’s the best kept secret in the Seattle-Northgate area! You don’t need to be a member to get an exam but you do need to be a member to purchase the glasses.
