Omg really bad service:((they used bad quality stuff for my car and cost a lot of money …

My family has been going to 7^th Avenue Service for over 10 years. Pat and his crew a the very best. I’m a single mom and have had horrible experiences taking my vehicles in for repairs. Pat has been fair, up front, trusting and knowledgeable in fixing my cars! Such a wonderful, generous man … he can never retire! Fair price for GREAT service!

Super nice guys, affordable and quality service. They aren’t high-​tech (don’t take credit cards), and don’t always return calls very quickly, but they do excellent work.

Pat and his son are wonderful. Not only honest, but reasonable and great mechanics. I went to them for years, but moved and now that work nearby I will only go to the 7^th Ave Service Station. The other day he fixed my car before work. They don’t take credit cards, but he has been burned and I don’t blame him.

I’ve driven past this shop a hundred times and I’ve said to myself, «Wow, this looks like the sketchiest place I’ve seen». It wasn’t until I bought a clunker off Craigslist that I found myself in need of a good mechanic. After a couple of Unilocal searches, I decided on these guys because I work 4 – 5 blocks away, there were a bunch of positive reviews, and I actually knew someone who reviewed it.
The downsides of this place is the shop appearance and the fact that they’re a little scattered. I dropped off my car early in the day and when I called later that day, they said they lost my phone number.
The upside is that the prices are (more than) reasonable, they’re incredibly honest, and they’ll actually explain what they’re doing and other things that you might want to look down the road.
They’re solid guys and when it comes down to a mechanic, that’s what I need. I could go to the cleanest shop in the world with the most organized staff imaginable. If I can’t trust them, I’m pretty screwed. If I needed, I would take my car back to them.

Good, fair, mechanics. They’ve done some maintenance for me and some repairs of failed parts on my FORD. Good work, and a fair price.

I used to take my Honda and my ex-boyfriend’s beat up old Subaru here and I cannot speak more highly of an auto repair shop. In fact I never thought I WOULD speak highly of one but here goes…
*They work around your schedule in terms of dropping off or picking up your vehicle (within reason).
*They give fair, accurate and honest assesments
*They don’t overcharge in general, but especially not for labor.
*They let you bring a new part in that you buy yourself (see «they don’t overcharge»). Sometimes you can save money this way, sometimes not– always ask what they would charge for the part & see if you can get a better one if you’re really needing to save $
*They’re friendly and knowledgable– especially David. He’s pretty cute too!
*Did I mention they don’t overcharge you?
*They are true experts on Japanese cars as well as older cars.
*They are an old school Intnl. District shop and not some chain store or hoity toity auto specialist place…
I just can’t say enough good things about them. Go there, and NEVER BE RIPPED OFF by a repair shop again.

This family owned place is pretty cool. David and his father Patrick are super nice and the prices are fair and the turnaround is quick. You don’t have to wait forever for an appointment too. They don’t talk down to you if you don’t know anything about cars or if you’re girl and I’m both so that’s a plus and not easy to find in the autorepair world.
It’s easy to overlook if you’re passing by but give them a try. It’s in the International district too so double bonus! You can hang and window shop in the neighborhood or at Kobo or maybe just wander the many wonders of Uwajimaya till they are finished.

This isn’t everyone’s service station. In fact, don’t go here unless you want an uncommon experience.
I’ve been going for about 15 years and I keep going back for a multitude of reasons. Mainly because I like the owner Pat so darn much. And his son David is the perfect counterpoint to his father. I captured most of my thoughts on Seventh Ave Service in this blog post a few months back.
