Being inspired to hunt down and sample all of the gas station fried chicken in the area, I made my way into this Georgetown-area Shell. I mean, how could I not stop by? The sign outside claims to have the best fried chicken in Seattle! However, I have to say it was only ok. There were plenty of people coming in and out and the hot food seemed to be the primary goal of most customers. The good news about this place is that unlike the Quick Pack Food Mart( ), they serve chicken breasts. The chicken seemed a little more pricey than Quick Pack(I paid $ 5.80 for four pieces at Quick Pack while this cost me $ 7.66) and I would say it was only ok. The breading wasn’t particularly unique tasting and in fact, the thigh piece had an odd non-food flavor in it. When I taste flavors like that, I usually generically refer to it as «cardboard», but I can’t honestly tell you exactly what it was. In the end though, the biggest downer was that on my way out I saw the window signs posted for«Coopers Express Fried Chicken». Bah! It’s just frozen fried chicken! Come to think of it, maybe the odd flavor was freezer burn? I mean, if you’re desperate I would respect this food choice more than say, a McDonald’s McDouble, but don’t go making a special trip for this stuff.

Ok I can’t believe no one has written a review for this place? The family that owns this place and their employees are an exceptional bunch. They have the best hot food I have had in a gas station in the city.
