My boyfriend and I went to Seattle for the weekend for our anniversary and we had to hit major spots for food. Hostess was friendly and quick to seat us(we had reservations at 8 and we arrived at 7:45) It was busy but not crowded(older crowd) The server was nice but not amazing My boyfriend had ahi tuna and he really enjoyed his food. I picked Mahi Mahi and it was delicious . My boyfriend and I shared some oysters and one of the best I had so far !

We came here on a whim after another place was too busy. It was absolutely fantastic. It’s a higher end seafood place with pricing and ambiance to match, but still manages a comfortable relaxed environment. Everything we tried was delicious, particularly the steelhead and the crab cakes. Rishi our waiter was a walking encyclopedia of seafood knowledge, and extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions. Top notch service, he deserves a raise before the end of the week. Great experience.

Steve is one of the friendliest waiters I’ve met since moving to Seattle! I came in once for dinner with my boyfriend and family(total party of 5, which is clutch because a party of 6 means gratuity) when they came to visit. We had the baked clams, which were amazing! You really can’t go wrong with any of them! I saw that they had a happy hour and decided to come on my own. But I didn’t know that happy hour was for fresh oysters only not baked, so I asked Steve for a recommendation which I then ordered only one of. I’ve only had fresh oysters once before and it wasn’t a great experience so I just ordered one to try. The oyster was really big, I personally didn’t like it but I could see why others would. So I told Steve I just wanted to order a couple baked oysters. He came out with 3, telling me he gave me one for free because of my fresh oysters experience minutes before. When the bill came he was nice enough to not charge me for the fresh one. Steve was so great, anyone who has him serve you at shuckers is really lucky :) If you like fresh oysters, they’re a steal here for happy hour!

A charming, old school, wooden-walled place in the bottom of the Fairmont Hotel. We had an anniversary dinner here recently and it’s a perfect place to warm up on a winter night in Seattle. I ordered the pan-fried oysters and house chips(given the restaurant’s name) and my husband got the trout. The trout was the better option — it was nicely cooked and served on a bed of delicious sautéed brussel sprouts. My oysters were good, but a little too buttery. I imagine their fresh oysters are the thing to go with. My favorite part of the meal was the delicious and overflowing bowl of mussels with white wine and chorizo that we started with.

I was staying at the W Hotel and Shuckers was across the street. Due to good Unilocal ratings I had dinner there. I sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly. The restaurant has an ambiance that somewhat felt like New York. I started with the creamy clam chowder. They brought a huge bowl. It was very good but was a little light on the clams I felt. For my entrée I had the pan fried oysters. They were absolutely delicious. They were very fresh and fried to a perfect texture and not greasy at all. The accompanying homemade tarter sauce was tasty. In surveying the restaurant it looked like you can’t go wrong with any of the oyster offerings.

Shuckers was great. Awesome oysters, great chowder, awesome dungeness crab! More importantly, I liked that it was across the street from our hotel(the W) and I got to snag a photo with Jim Nantz of CBS Sports! Will be back if I’m ever in Seattle again.

Love this restaurant. The décor is great, it’s like an old fashion oyster bar, a lot of dark wood and brass. The ambiance is casual, classy yet unpretentious. The service was casual and friendly but could be more attentive especially since we were there at 3pm when the restaurant was mostly empty. But the food, the food was superb! We had Steamed Clams and Calamari to start. Both were excellent with generous portions. The clams were quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. We also ordered the Shuckers Seafood Chowder, it was good but not great, also not needed. For entrees we had the Halibut Fish & Chips which were superb, very fresh fish and well seasoned, not at all greasy. The Charred Ahi Tuna with tomato jam was simply amazing! The Shellfish Gmelli Pasta dish was good but not great, as was the Shuckers Chop Salad. All the portions are very generous. We had plenty to eat, even brought home leftovers. The halibut and chips were just as good the next day. We were in a hurry to catch a concert(it’s across from Benaroya) so did not have dessert. This is our favorite seafood restaurant in downtown Seattle. One of the very few we’ve been to in the last few years that actually has good enough food to match its price. We will be back.

We saw Shuckers across from our hotel so we had to give it a try. It turned out to be one of our all time favorite Seattle restaurants. Beautiful interior, warm and inviting on a cold wet night. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. We both started with fantastic Gin Martinis. The basket of bread was all very fresh and tasty. I tried the Paella and it was some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything it the dish was fresh and tasty. Wifey who doesn’t do fish had the Fried Chicken and loved it, very fresh, cooked perfectly. This is an excellent restaurant and highly recommend.

A late east coast night and an early Seattle Monday. Rainy wet and looking for a place to shake off jet lag. This place is the perfect antidote. Small bar with great service and a make your self feel like home attitude. Grab the ny times or 3 other papers and read at your leisure; while enjoying the local draft, bar snacks and a top notch seafood menu. Order the smoked oyster selection for starters followed by a prolific fresh catch of the day menu. The crab and shrimp Louie salad with thousand island dressing is off the boat delicious.

I LoVE this place! I eat here most of my work days. The best oyster bar in the city in such a classic NW settling. It is located in the beautiful, historic Fairmont Olympic Hotel. The hotel used to be the original University of Washington. Shuckers is located in the lower level of the hotel. Their service is professionally comfortable. Meaning they remember their customers and many have worked at the restaurant for years which is such a nice touch. If you go for lunch ask about their daily special. It is a nice smaller portion and always great.

First off, the food was absolutely amazing. I would give the food and quality of the food 5 stars. The service was ok. I expected more for such a pricey restaurant. Our server was experienced and thorough. The only problem I have is the floor manager at the time, Jessica, stopped by every other table around us and talked with them but ours. It was as if she purposely avoided our table. When our entrees arrived, she just glanced at the table and kept it moving. I don’t know if she had a problem with us because we are an interracial couple but I did take it personal. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all so she did have time to stop by. It’s just unacceptable to purposely and intentionally single diners out.

Absolutely one of the best seafood restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of visiting! From superb service to amazing food… every detail was attended to, every desire fulfilled. Started out with a dozen oysters 4÷4÷4 raw/smoked/amazing Provençal all fresh and delicious! Then a cup of seafood chowder… soo nice on a cool damp day… lots of goodies inside… and my table mate had the crab salad! Next I had the salmon fish and chips along with a tiny side of crab Mac and Cheese… while he ordered the halibut lunch special. Everything was outstanding although I would have preferred a slightly lighter batter on my fish. The crab Mac and Cheese was actually to share and we both found it simply amazing. No room for dessert so we ordered espresso with foam… along with the coffee they brought us each a tiny chocolate lava cake… bite size and just the perfect way to finish one incredible meal!

We had the sweetest waitress ever who was very helpful and gave us excellent recommendations! We came here for the oysters and ended up ordering some calamari and drinks as well. Our server was nice enough to let my friend have a sample of a beer he was unsure about ordering. She also kept checking on us and made sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying the food. The kushi oysters were so fresh and sweet and perfect for a midday snack :) The calamari was well seasoned and very crispy too. I’d definitely come back! It’s nearby a lot of stores where you can shop and then enjoy some delicious fresh bites~

I found myself in downtown on a weekday evening and wanted some good seafood! Shuckers was the closest so my group and I decided to give it a try. We were seated right away and ordered a dozen raw oysters(waiter’s choice). They were delicious! So we then ordered another round of the ones we hadn’t tried in the first round. Delicious once again! The vinigerette, lemon and cocktail sauce that came with the oysters was a nice touch as well. After all of the oysters I went ahead and ordered the adult grilled cheese with tomato soup. The restaurant was a tad crmaped but it had a nice atmosphere, a god menu and was a good place to grab some quality seafood downtown.

Definitely not the cheapest place, but the food is very good. It’s rich and flavorful without being too heavy. I had half a dozen oysters on the half shell. I let the bartender pick an assortment and I liked all three kinds. For my main course I had the scallops, which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. They had the right amount of chewiness to them; not close to overdone. If/when I’m back in Seattle, I’ll visit again simply because the food was so good and the service superb.

Nice spot for seafood in a casual but slightly upscale/traditional atmosphere. It is inside the Fairmont hotel lower level. Host was very friendly and clearly knew how to handle lone diners. She offered me a choice of table or bar even with only a few tables available — then even offered some reading materials. Lots of families were here and a few couples — it’s not really romantic but still a lively place to go. The king wild salmon tasted great and was prepared well. The presentation of the mash potatoes did look oddly artificial by being so perfectly shaped and symmetric but tasted great. The clams casino also tasted great. Service was fast and friendly here. At $ 35 for the salmon, it isn’t a steal but seems market for wild king salmon in this area. I think this place is a solid choice for seafood but you will pay for what you get.
