You either love or hate Sound Transit. Having ridden the commuter bus from Lakewood to Seattle, I spend a lot of my life on the bus. Overall the busses are OK. I always get excited when you get to ride a newer bus, because they can actually get up hills and don’t smell like a gym locker. But those busses smell like roses compared to most Metro busses I’ve been on. There are also coach busses which are very nice and comfy, especially for long rides. I have to say that most bus drivers are really friendly and haul ass on the freeway. Overall, Sound Transit is a pretty good service. They change their routes twice a year to accommodate increasing or decreasing demand, but nothing major has impacted my route negatively. It could always be worse… you could be riding a Metro bus!

I love that our city has public transportation after living in one that doesn’t. The train is always clean and faster than the bus. While in town I catch the train to the airport to pick up a rental car and back home in less than 45 minutes! No complaints, smelly people or trouble.

I love taking the bus from the ash way park and ride then catching the light rail to the airport. No parking once we get to the airport and it is stress free. Do it once and you will do it every chance you get. Tips. buy a universersal pass and load it with money. orca card thats what they call it. I keep it just for going to the airport. make sure you scan your card. Be honest and pay your fair share. cheaper than 60 bucks for parking or 70 bucks for taking the shuttle. I can’t take for early morning or late night flights, but everywhere else inbetween works for me.

Okay Seattle, not quite the BART system. But you guys are getting there. I ride the sound transit at least once a week right now. It’s pretty convenient and no longer am I looking for parking downtown when I live on the south end. The down part of this, is though it’s still in the beginning stage it surely needs to be built more. I would jump on the transit even more often if it was to be extended into other areas like Bellingham or even down to Vancouver.
I live near Sea-​Tac but it’s weird that the transit isn’t connected from Kent to Sea-​Tac. Keep it up and keep building.

This is Seattle’s version of the Bay Area’s «BART» system. It goes from the Sea-​Tac airport all the way to Downtown Seattle. I think there are about 10 stops (?) and the max you would pay is $ 2.50.
Unlike the BART system here, you just buy your ticket and hop on. There’s no machine you put your ticket through, you just show the attendant your ticket. We rode on here probably 3 or 4 times and was only asked to show our ticket ONCE. The «ticket patrol» people hop on the train occasionally to check the tickets, so if you’re lucky, you can ride for free. However, they’re pretty cool about it. This one lady, who was obviously coming from the airport, had a huge suitcase and a personal bag and couldn’t locate her ticket. She offered to hop off but the guy said it was cool. COOL.
This transit system is pretty new in Seattle — I think they’ve been operating for only a year. It’s super convenient! From the airport to Downtown, it was about 25 minutes. WAYYY cheaper than catching a cab for sure!

It cost me $ 1.25 to ride the bus.
