I have been coming to Wilena and Taco for my hair(weaves, cut and styles), since I moved here from Los Angeles five years ago. I am a hair FANATIC. When I was a kid there were two things I hated-my hair and my teeth. I swore to the childhood version of myself, that when I was grown, no matter what I had to do, or how much it cost, I would have spectacular hair and even white teeth. I am not joking with this. I have flown in excess of 400 miles every other month to get my hair done. I have done it in Atlanta, S. Carolina, New York, San Diego, Oakland, Chicago and now Seattle. Honestly, I am hair crazy. Literally the only reason I haven’t moved and taken an amazing p.r. job in the Middle East or Asia, is because I cant travel too far from my hairdresser. Consequently, I am more than qualified to give an opinion on good hair services and Taco and Wilena,(his assistant). These two are as good or better than the cumulative product more expensive weavers charging tons of money for this kind of quality hair in the hair Meccas of Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta. Now mind you, this is not some kind of walk-in salon that doesn’t honor appointments. In fact, the next best weaver to Taco and Reign Salon had me wait almost five hours before he even started on my braiding! I should have rented a hotel room near that salon, since I was waiting almost all day and night before walking out and heading for home at 3am. Because of the ridiculously fair price and outstanding work, you HAVE to make an appointment with Taco and Wilena. Still, that is hardly a reason(like the poor reviewers below) to criticize THEONLY salon in Seattle that can do top notch big –market hair at great prices. Whether your ‘e looking for that perfect cut, a full weave, a relaxer or caucasian –girl extensions like me, if you go ANYWHERE else in Seattle you will be sorely dissapointed. And dont even get me started on that over-priced Mermaid salon that tries to fool caucasian East-side beauty junkies into paying way too much for just a few very obviously placed bumpy unattractive tracks.

I’ve been there twice. I hate salons and this was no exception. The first time I walked in, no one said anything to me, much less smiled. Finally my stylist asked what my name was and said she would be with me soon. She was doing someone else’s hair. 45 minutes later, she started my full sew-in. However she wasn’t done with the previous person. As she was braiding my hair, the other person requested to get hers finished before she braided my hair. She braided a little more of mine, then finished the other ladies hair. She did a pretty good job with my hair. It looked nice. After several weeks, it seemed unusually loose. I went back two months later to get it tightened. I asked her what time would work on a certain day… She said she was open so I picked a time and told her to let me know if she needed me earlier or later than that(to avoid the overbooking phenomenon). She said ok. When I got there she sat me down then asked I if minded if she got a sandwich first. I said I didn’t mind. It took like 15 – 20. She started me, sat me under the dryer for two hours while she finished TWO heads of people who came after me. 4.5 hours later, I walk out with a plain ass flat iron. I will never go back.
