Southwest Airlines

Just took my daughter, with her 1 year old & 4 year old, to the boarding gate for Southwest Airlines.
–First, at electronic check-​in, daughter received an A boarding pass but the 4 year old received a B boarding pass. The gate agent wouldn’t let the three of them board on the A pass. So she waited til «family boarding», when A passengers finished boarding.
–I wasn’t allowed to assist them down the ramp, my daughter had to carry the bagged up stroller while the 4 year old walked the 1 year old down the ramp in front of her. No assistance was provided and they forbade me helping!
–Oh, «family boarding» also covered the guy with a C boarding ticket getting on the plan right behind them.
I’ve long avoided Southwest, over issues just such as these. Minimal customer service, more like a cattle call than a boarding process. Perhaps this is how Southwest attempts to keep families with children off their plans… I know I’ll be doing everything I can to get my daughter and her kids on any airline except Southwest for future visits!

I love southwests unassigned seating and have never had a problem when we fly as a family getting seats together as long as we remember to check in online 24 hours ahead of time. Almost always relatively ontime and have one had 1 canceled flight with them but they did rebook me on the next available flight without any issue or added fees. Their 2 free checked bagged policy is great as well. Their customer service has always been great too and was really surprised when I called to see about missing rewards points how easy it was for them to look up my past flight and get the miles added. Most definitely my go to airline if I have a choice

I was so impressed with Southwest Airlines. You can change your reservation, which I did. And you can check in two bags and bring a carry-​on and a smaller bag, such as a handbag. And no charge! And their rates were great. Really great experience.

I had an amazing experience-​again-​with my favorite Southwest Airlines! They are always trying their best to make up time, get everyone comfortable, and I this particular triple had a flight attendant that stood and chatted with us, went to call the pilot about the location of Mt. Rainier for us (& her!) and then proceeded to get everyone in the fro t of the plane interested I the location and looking out the window to spit the mountain and we were all laughing and taking pictures.
It was a great memory for this trip and something that NEVER happens on other airlines that I’ve been on. Southwest is truly unique in this fashion and I appreciate it so much that I put up with all the extra layovers to random cities that never used to be before they took over –that last airline! It’s a hassle and so many of my friends question why I keep using them when I could fly direct — but I love their honesty and humor. The idea that more often than not I’m ahead of time to my destination-​not 2 hours late-​and that I can accrue points for a free flight well before they EVER will with American or Delta! Keep it up Southwest! I you!!!

You got us at CHEAP FLIGHTS and FREE CHECK IN BAGS … however, you might need to upgrade that Concourse B you’re chilling on.
No room for sitting, because all your other flights are smushed in that far side of the Gates of B. Like Bee-​yotch, move out the way… over-​sized carry-​on luggage running over feet is a sport here.

This airline SUCKS! The seats are TINY, no assigned seating, rude staff and flight attendants. They OVERBOOK the flights and whoever is the last person to check in doesn’t get the tickets! My friend bought her ticket over six months ago and didn’t get on the flight. She instead had to wait three hours, fly to Vegas and then wait three more hours and fly to the destination– San Diego. Not to mention our flight was at 6:30 am so we got up at 3 am for nothing! While on the flight I asked for two drinks at once and the flight attendant rolled her eyes and said I guess you can but then didn’t bring me two drinks! Yes they did give my friend a check for $ 548 but NOT WORTH IT, we didn’t get to travel together and she got to San Diego several hours later, had to take her own taxi to the house that we stayed at resulting in an extra $ 115 plus top. She would’ve rather been enjoying her vacation! I will never fly this again. So worth it to pay a little extra and actually GET to your destination.

yep… i learned the hard way … if someone offers u r/​t tickets for 300.00… dont buy them… they are standby, and not authorized… so… either buy them and don’t complain at the airport when u are bumped … or pay the SW rate… person selling me the tickets should have explained that «family and friends» rules/​crap beforehand… was not worth 300 to wait in phx for 5 hrs.

First and LAST time I ever fly Southwest. Security was horribly level of customer service! Awful!

Flew from Seattle Tacoma airport to San Diego and had to check in my stroller and car seat at the gate… they lost the car seat and broke my child’s stroller to the point it was un-​usable. When we tried to get some help from Southwest Airlines they basically said it’s not their problem and that the stroller we gave to them to check in was not their responsibility. When they finally found our car seat they said that it wasn’t checked because it didn’t have a tag on it… when I showed them the tag and explained they not only broke our stroller but misplaced our car seat they (with attitude and a complete unprofessional conduct) basically said it’s not their problem. I’ve flown southwest so many times I can’t count but this was the worst I’ve ever been treated so far, some of my previous flights were equally as bad with baggage however the staff were more courteous so I let it slide.

Usually pretty good, but an hour wait for bags? And worse. Your people keep announcing that they are on the way? And then, you don’t like it? Call customer service. Okay. Oh, snap! It’s closed at this hour! You suckers! We got you! Why not just tell the truth? And this is why we changed airlines!

HORRIBLE. I understand sometimes bags get lost but Southwest doesn’t help at all in finding them. No one answers the phone. They send you to a billion different representatives. And of course the bag they lost has all my CHRISTMAS GIFTS in it.

Worst customer service i’ve ever dealt with.
Will never fly again.

My flight anxiety quickly settled after boarding a Southwest Flight from Sea-​Tac to Phoenix. For the first time, I was comfortable on an airplane. Our flight attendant Farrah checked in regularly with us to see how I was doing, kept the drinks coming and announced to the cabin that we were newlyweds! I couldn’t believe he great customer service we received and I am so grateful!

On September 18, 2015, my fiancée and I arrived at Ontario Airport approximately an hour before my flight was due to depart. Our flight was supposed to depart at 1020 hours on flight #325 with a layover in Sacramento on flight #2465 landing in Portland, Oregon at 1345 hours. At 0950 hours there was an announcement that the flight would be delayed until 1130 hours. This meant that we would not make it to Sacramento on time for our layover in Portland. We went to the Southwest counter and we were told that the only flight we could get on would mean we would have a four hour layover in San Jose and we wouldn’t land in Portland until 1915 hours. I explained to the lady that we needed an earlier flight because we were flying to Portland for a family event that started at 1900 hours. She then told me that there was a flight that landed in Portland at 1805 hours, but that was the earliest. So, we reluctantly took that flight. My Fiancée asked about our luggage. She said that our luggage would be on a direct flight and would land in Portland at 1400 hours. I asked her since the luggage was getting there before us where we would pick it up. She said, «Baggage claim». I understand where baggage is picked up, I’m not an idiot. I just thought since luggage was getting there sooner we would pick it up in a specific area at baggage claim. She handed me the tickets and told me that was it. I had overheard another customer received vouchers so I asked her if we would receive any vouchers for our trouble. She explained that we did not qualify for any vouchers because our flight landed before 1900 hours. We walked away from that counter upset, unsatisfied, and promising we would never fly Southwest Airlines again.
Deciding that we needed to do something about the lack of customer service, we got back in line to talk to someone else. When we eventually got to the front of the line we spoke to Albert. He explained to us that the flight we had was the earliest he could find for us. My fiancée then explained that we had not received a voucher or anything for our inconvenience. He then gave us two $ 200 vouchers for future use. We were still upset, but felt a little better about receiving the vouchers. While we were standing near the counter deciding where to go sit down, we overheard another gentleman being very loud and rude to one of the ladies behind the counter. He was on the same flight as us and was upset about not landing in Portland until late at night. Not only did he get on the same flight as we did, but he also received two $ 200 vouchers and face value for his ticket.
I am sure that delays happen often do to inclement weather or maintenance problems and I understand that those problems are out of Southwest Airlines control. It is just very upsetting that someone that was rude and loud received more for his inconvenience than we did. Did we receive less because we were nice? Getting something for a flight being delayed shouldn’t depend on the volume of our voice or the rudeness in our tone. This should be about what Southwest Airlines can do to keep customers and what they can do to apologize for missed family events. I am not only upset at the way we were treated, but also the fact that we received almost nothing for the extra seven hours we had to spend at the airport.

Never have complaints about Southwest. My husband and I missed a flight due to TSA lines being ridiculously long and southwest came to the rescue when Frontier completely screwed us over. We LOVE that due to our lifestyle of a lot of last minute changes in schedule, we can switch our flight date for NO cost other than the difference in ticket price. Southwest as our first choice airline!

My husband and I saved for years to take a trip to NYC. We booked with SW for June travel as they had the best price. The saying «you get what you pay for» is definitely true in this case. We got as far as Milwaukee and our connecting flight was cancelled due to storms at LaGuardia. SW could not get us another flight until two days later and that would have been a late night flight. That wouldn’t work with our pre-​paid hotel and activities so we spent the night and caught a flight home the next day.
To say SW did not care about us is an understatement. We called, put in customer requests, and wrote letters. We did get a refund of our NYC to Seattle one way ticket but never got a credit for the first ticket that we were promised in Milwaukee. After many conversations we got a $ 100.00 travel voucher. But, it has to be used by one year and we will never be able to use it in that time frame.
Due to the fact that there are no seat assignments to the fact that several different people promised several different things that didn’t happen, I will never use SW Airlines again.
The icing on the cake was that the ticket supervisor in Milwaukee threatened to charge us to get back to Seattle when I got upset.

Best flight ever. Flight 1408 Midway to SeaTac. Matt was amazing he ensured we were all safe and happy. I know that is not easy. Yay!!! Southwest!!‘nn

Southwest at Seatac was just wow! We were in a line that was very long for ticketing. It moved fast though. The agent was helpful. We were notified earlier that our flight was delayed and we may miss our connection at Midway. The agent assures us that we would be alright. We did make our connection, just barely but they did everything they could to get us there. The staff was great and even though not a fan in the past, I am a fan now:)

My recent SWA experience at SeaTac was definitely pleasant. The check in line moved quickly and efficiently.
Our gate agent was hillarious– he certainly brightened our days!

Dear Southwest Airlines,
You might want to use the following for an example for what not to do!
I paid for the Wi Fi service and inadvertently paid for the deceptive $ 2 text messaging. The Wi-​Fi was sporadic at best and did not live up to the $ 8 fee! I was extremely disappointed as we were with our two flight delays and the change in flight times that were at the last minute switched on us causing us to miss the flight! Southwest will always remain our second choice when booking flights! The bags fly free is nothing but a ploy, similar to your Wi-​Fi to attract paying customers. I’ll pay $ 25 dollars on Alaska anytime for baggage, at least their Wi-​Fi is reliable and the flight status rarely ever changes, not to mention waiting in line at Southwest for Boarding is not customer friendly!
Forgot to mention, No First class, Seats are cramp too!
