You have no idea how much I love karaōke, I can’t sing well, but still. I especially love places like this where you rent the room and just have a good time with your friends rather than singing in front of a million people and not to mention wait a million years for your turn to be up. Here, they charge the room by person per hour which is kind of nice if you can only recruit a small group to go. Star Karaōke is located on the Ave, it’s closer to the Jack In the Box’s end. The place is located upstairs of a building so watch out for signs. The layout is simple, although it’s not state of the art interior, it’s enough for a karaōke establishment. The system is the typical ones you find in Korean owned karaōke business where there’s only actual music videos for songs in Korean and the rest will be some random sunflower’s field or snowboarding snow scene. There are SOOO many songs to choose from; asian pop songs, modern songs, old school Britney Spears, ratchet music, etc. It’s a good time, give this place a try if you are in Seattle because Star Karaōke probably has the most reasonable prices around and they don’t’ monitor your room like crazy unlike some. Tell me about your experience if you’ve been here or is going to after reading this review:)

If you’re ever in the need to sing your heart out with some friends and don’t want to wait for a long time for a room, check out this place. =] Compared to EnKore or Rock Box, this is a fairly simple place, with basic furniture in the private rooms, minimal drinks, and fairly decent prices. There is one big room reserved for large parties and overall, the sound quality and music selection is great. Having been here many times throughout college, this place has never disappointed me. The owner is a sweet old man who tends to give free minutes to your karaōke session. While this place doesn’t offer fancy beverages, you can still grab a beer or two, water, and some light snacks. Bathroom is always clean and overall, a very pleasant venue for karaōke. The place is located near 50th and there is always street parking around. It does help a little if you or have a friend who knows Korean since the remote is in Korean characters.

Probably the most inexpensive, high quality Karaōke venue I’ve ever visited. The owner was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to book a room for 15 people at the last minute and even giving us an extra 30 minutes for free. The song selection is solid, and though the ‘remote control’ was in a foreign language we picked up how to use it within a few minutes. The rooms and the washrooms were clean which is usually a rarity for such venues. Our room also came equipped with two fans and several tambourines which were greatly appreciated. A fantastic, if not superior, alternative to the much more expensive and hard-to-book Rockbox.

A nice, solid karaōke place, with box-style private rooms for you and your friends! The price can add up sometimes at $ 10 per person per hour, but everytime I’ve gone, I’ve been given free time by the employees. I’ve never had to wait or make a reservation here, and they’ve never given us trouble for bringing in our own soda/drinks like some other places on the Ave are known to do. Finding songs can be a little frustrating sometimes given it’s all in Korean, but if you’re a regular, it’s easy to keep track of the codes for the songs you enjoy. I do wish they had some method of suggesting songs to be added. The only downside is the location, because it is in the«sketchier» part of the Ave. But if you’ve got your friends with you, you shouldn’t have any problems!

I love coming here on a weekend or as a summer hotspot! The Korean workers are very nice and will sometimes give you an extra 15 to 30 minutes depending on how much time you ask for. When going with parties of 6 or more ask for the prices of the big rooms because they sometimes might give you a small discount. But beware: the remotes are in Korean! If you do not know how to work them, ask the employees when they guide you to your room. They allow snacks and drinks inside as long as you clean up afterwards. Prices usually range within $ 25 — $ 35 dollars per hour and they also have restrooms. Start with 1 hour and see how much you can sing!

Place: Clean and well kept, mikes were fully functioning, nice couches, quite good song selection too actually. They had Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, Burn by Ellie Goulding, etc which all came out relatively recently. Service: Great service, the owner gave us an extra 40MINUTES at the end of our session, which allowed some of my friends who showed up late the ability to sing Bohemian Rhapsody! Price: Very decent price I would say. We got a 7 – 8 person room(ended up having like 10 people at one time, some people showed up unannounced) and from 7pm — 10:15pm it totaled out to be $ 88 Downfalls: These aren’t really downfalls as much as they are just karaōke places in general lol. The song selection remote is in Korean and there are certainly a lot more Korean songs than there are English songs. However, it’s pretty easy to memorize which buttons you need on the remote.

I came here with my best friend and her boyfriend. We were only planning to be here for an hour but when the lady programmed the karaōke machine for us, she gave us an extra 20 minutes! We had a lot of fun and sang our hearts out. Then towards the end, when our time was almost up, she came back in and gave us an extra 30 minutes! When we were done, we came out of the room and she charged us 25 dollars total. So that’s an hour and 50 minutes of karaōke for $ 25 split between 3 people. I think that’s an amazing bargain. :)

While being on vacation I wanted to get drunk and karaōke. That’s one of my all time favorite pastimes. After dessert and drinks at Pie Bar I thought I needed some karaōke in my life! Only problem was that Rock Box and some other place I called were completely booked for the night. I stumbled upon this Unilocal listing and thought if anything it can satisfy my singing itch. The studio is located upstairs. We were greeted by an older gentleman who I assume is the owner. Across from the desk there are bottled water, some soft drinks and bottled blue moon — made sure to grab a few of those! There are quite a few rooms in here. The TV in the room is kinda small but they do use the regular Korean karaōke machine which was familiar. Tip: if you flip the song book to the last few pages and look under the sections«pop songs» there will be listings of newer songs. All in all this place isn’t the worst but it isn’t the best either.

Guys, you don’t wanna go to this place to hang out, first of all it over charges you every time(with the«service» you will have to pay at the end without you knowing) secondly, its just shit, i couldve gone to many other restaurants with my gal except for spending 60 wasted bucks here(i was thinking of spending 25, just to let you know). Ughh fucking even getting tired to write a comment on this shit place, last warning for you: DON’T YOUDARETOGOTOTHISPLACEBECAUSEITWILLRUINYOURNIGHT.(No Joke) itd be better to spend your money on some random homeless buddies, hope you all have good night

A really awesome karaōke place on the ave exists! Come! Hurry! Go there and sing your favorite tunes! There’s an abundant amount of music to choose from and if you’re an old school k-pop fan… You’ll be excited what you’ll find. Don’t worry folks who don’t sing in Korean, Japanese or Chinese. They got English jams for you. It sucks because I can’t read any Korean, but thankfully all my friends I went with did. We went through our normal rotation of jams and around 230am… Ended it with DJ Doc– Run to you. If you could only imagine how epic(and sweaty, lol) it got in there doing the dance and singing to the song… you would know why this is the happenin’ karaōke joint on the ave. I think a lot of people may NOT know much about this place since it’s a bit further north of central«ave» locations, but it’s worth the walk. They do serve some beer here too. I feel like this is probably one of the best karaōke places i’ve been to around the hood. The prices were right and I had so much fun screaming my lungs out to some T(Tasha from Tashannie, anyone??) or even some Fly to The Sky to Ailee. What are you doing this Friday /Saturday night? Ah, I thought so. Have fun doin’ some karaōke where you’ll feel like a STAR!(See what I did there? Heh heh)

I usually go to this place to sing and karaōke, and the prices are reasonable but this time, he charged us 10 per people and we had 8 people with is, which makes it 80. Usually the price is 30 per hour overall so after I left, I didn’t get why it was that much of a price difference.

Definitely a good place to hang with friends! We ended up staying over 4 hours because we had so much fun. The songs were pretty much up to date with new hit songs on the radio and they even had Let It Go from Frozen! The manager was so nice as well; he came in and gave us an extra 30 minutes free!

This is the perfect middle ground between the fancy and expensive Rock Box and some of the more rundown karaōke bars in Seattle. I’ve been here twice and the rooms are decent without being fancy. There’s 4 couches in the large room, 2 mikes, a few coffee tables, a heater provided and a good amount of songs. There were some we couldn’t find but we had more than enough for our two hours. There’s also a big selection of international songs for those who want to sing non-English songs. The biggest downside here is that there’s no alcohol besides beer. The only other drink there is water. The owner here is really nice. He doesn’t speak a ton of English but he gets the job done and even gave us a courtesy extra 15 min to wrap up. 2 hours for 12 people here was $ 160. It’s basic but complete enough, reasonably priced and always a good time!

Everything you need for Karaōke. No silly charges just straight up singing and fun. The rates are fair too.

If I could give more than 5 stars to this place, I definitely would! The song selection isn’t bad, the place is really clean, and I love their search function for songs or titles. The main reason why I am giving this place a 5 stars is the owner. He is one of the nicest guy I’ve ever met. Even though his English isn’t the best and you have to struggle sometimes to communicate with him, he is extremely helpful and does everything he can to make your experience here worthwhile. The best part of my experience here was that my friend left his cell in the karaōke room. So after we got in our car, he ran outside in the cold at about 30 degrees just to give my friend his phone back. Now that’s customer service! Definitely check out this place!

Love this karaōke joint! Been here several times with large groups, medium sized groups, and even just one other person. The man running this place is a super nice Korean man in his 50s. Doesn’t speak much English but is very accommodating and works very well his customers. Prices for each room is flat and the hours are pretty much ALL night long deep into the morning. They have plenty of rooms of different sizes, and all of them are well decorated with comfortable seating. The karaōke choices are pretty good! There’s a ton of Korean songs as well as some decent amount of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and Thai. The owner seems to hook us up with drinks and free minutes since we come in so often. I come in with different people each time, but the experience is always consistent.

I loved this place. I was here last night with a bunch of friends on a random thing and we enjoyed it. We definitely considered going back ! So there’s a bunch of rooms and they all have a tv and some couches. Cool part is it’s spacey in there and lights can be off and everyone literally just enjoys themselves. The song selection was large and there were also international songs which is cool hahah . We walked out happy for sure. It’s a nice place and it’s like an upstairs of someplace. The man came in our room when we almost ran out of time and added more time which was cool of him . Very good place and they’re nice((:

I went here with some friends the other day, it was great! The song choices were decently good(still somewhat limited). They provide mostly Japanese, Korean, and English songs. But they also have Chinese, Thai, Tagalog, etc. The background music aren’t those cheap sounding midis, and the background videos weren’t extremely distracting(though still mostly unrelated to the video). I like how they have a song search function and it can be done while someone else is singing. Most of the song searching can be done through the booklet they have though. Facility wise, its pretty nice! My favorite thing about this place is probably the fact that they seem quite easy going. They allow you to bring your own food and drinks, no alcohol though! The place is clean and spacious. good seats! haha. I love how they also had tambourines in the rooms for us too!

I love how clean this place is and it is much larger than you would think. I think there’s at least 10 rooms. If you get a small room its $ 25 an hour, a large room its $ 35 an hour, Whatever you do bring plenty of people and make the more merrier. The shop is located right next to the Korean mart Woori Mart. They have songs in Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, and perhaps another culture I forgot lol. They do NOT tolerate alcohol drinking but I think that is why the place is nice and clean. Give it a try!
