String Lark Lessons

Melanie at String Lark is a great guitar teacher. I have been taking lessons for close to a year now with Melanie and amazed at my accomplishments. She is encouraging without being intimidating. She makes the theory part of guitar understandable and is very patient with adult students, like myself, who often don’t have as much time to practice and are sometimes slow to pick up on things. I can already play many songs and sing along and people actually know what I am playing. She has made learning to play guitar so much fun and I could not recommend her enough! Thanks Melanie!

I highly recommend String Lark Lessons. I am an adult learner and previously had tried learning from a friend and teaching myself — neither at all productive. Since working with Melanie I’ve learned so much — about the guitar and about theory, but most importantly I’ve learned how to make noise come out of this big ass guitar I own that actually sounds like music!
The room where lessons are held is bright and warm with musical instruments all over and Melanie herself has such a calm, positive energy. Good vibes all the way around. She is a great teacher and manages to be both patient and challenging at the same time. I think it’s a huge talent to make sure students progress while not overwhelming them and she manages that each lesson. When I’ve come in excited about something I read or heard, she can somehow take that and make it applicable to exactly my level. She is also full of ideas and suggestions — my playing is going in all sorts of directions that I didn’t expect. I feel like I’m getting a well-​rounded education and am eventually going to have the skills and knowledge to take this any direction I choose.
