I’ve been going to Stuart for 11 years for both color and styling/cut. Stuart is a true artist. He brings his talents to everything he touches and hair is no exception. He’s got a great eye for color. I like to say he gets me «back to natural» he uses multiple colors to provide highlight and contrast to bring out a really lovely palette of color. Of course we switch it up too for fun. I’m really sensitive to most hair coloring(chemically based) products and his are all natural so there’s no issue there. I have curly hair which can be a challenge to cut and I’ve always been consistently happy with the cuts… we’ve gone long, short and everywhere between. Recently we’ve decided to go with a fun bob right now(LOVE it!)…we work together on the styles each visit. I always get lots of compliments. He’s wonderful.

I’m convinced Stuart Calef is a superhero posing as a hairstylist. I’ve gone to him since 2005, after admiring the hair of one of his clients. I’m so glad she shared the referral with me! I went to Stuart once and was hooked. I’ve changed haircuts and colors several times, and he always steers me in the right direction. He listens to you, will give you honest feedback, and doesn’t force his vision on you. He considers what you’ll actually do for upkeep/primping(which for me is very little), and delivers great results every time. BELIEVABLE color results. GREAT haircuts that take the fuss out of styling. Why can’t more hairstylists do this?! Seriously: if every worker in America did this, our country would be in a much better state right now. I love the place, too. Little brick building, with rotating artwork. Very classy without being pretentious and obnoxious. In short: LOVE. A wonderful professional who genuinely enjoys his clients and clearly knows his stuff. I’d recommend this business to anybody!

Stuart Calef has been cutting, styling, and coloring my hair for several years, and he is the best! He styles and colors with an uncanny sense of my mood and seasonal needs. He combines good taste with an unusual edge and flair. Moreover, he has created an amazing environment at Studio 2607 with wonderful art shows and lively, interesting conversation. Not only is Stuart a smart and talented hair stylist, he is a decent and kind person, so every visit to Studio 2602 is a soul-restoring experience.

Stuart is not only the most talented stylist I’ve ever been to, he’s also the coolest. His space is relaxing, artsy and interesting, and he designed it entirely himself! As you walk in, you’ll notice how well it all works together, and you’ll realize that his artistic flair for design will let you walk out with the best cut and style you’ve ever had. Every time I’ve gone to Stuart, I’ve always received several compliments for the cut. Definitely a 6 Star Rating.

Stuart is a SUPERSTAR!!! I was referred to Stuart by friends so many years ago I can’t remember and he has been involved with my hair ever since! I lived in San Diego from 2002 to 2004 and made special trips back to Seattle during that time for some TLC from Stuart. It isn’t just about being loyal to Stuart as my stylist; it’s mostly about me being loyal to myself and what I deserve. My experience in Studio 2602 is fantastic every time! Whether it’s just me & Stuart there alone or the rest of his friendly amazing staff!(Loving me some Rodney!) I have taken my friends there who after being there one time trust Stuart entirely, making there own appointments for color or cut or both; friends from the Midwest, North Carolina, Slovakia and Poland! He is a genius, an amazing citizen of the world and most importantly he LOVES what he does! He is simply an Artist! I always leave Studio 2602 feeling beautiful inside and out and I NEVER leave there without laughing my arse off about something! ESPECIALLY when Rodney is around. In a nut shell… STUART, YOUAREMYHERO!!!

I love Stuart Calef!!! I have been seeing Stuart since 1994 and have had fabulous hair cuts and color since then. I have never had a better hair cut(short or long), my hair is very thick and unruly but somehow the cut is always perfect… and it grows out nicely too. Usually, I don’t even know what I want to have done… Stuart just works his magic and makes me happy and beautiful. As for color, we’ve done blonde, red, back to blonde, brunette, back to blonde, another red(my bad), back to blonde, flamingo pink, back to blonde… and the beat goes on:) I have recently moved to Los Angeles, but I still fly back to Seattle every 2 – 3 months for my hair… it’s worth the trip!

I’ve been going to Rodney for years and years now — and last year(?), he moved over to Studio 2602. While Rodney’s still the same, most amazing colorist sent from above, I have to say I prefer the atmosphere of Studio 2602 to anywhere else he’s been! They feature local artists’ work that I often want to steal off the walls. The cute and cozy interior of the shop is inviting and comfortable — good for a gal like me who spends a couple hours there each time she visits! The shop’s easy to get to if you walk and easy to park by if you drive — it’s easy to bus to, as well! Stuart’s also amazing — I’ve seen him work wonders on hair. Great vibes and great results from Studio 2602.

My favorite hair goddess of all time, Hair Goddess Rachel(or HGR as she is often referred) just joined the team at Studio 2602 so I went by last week for my first time. It is such a great little place! Easy Belltown location and cute little space with edgy light fixtures and cool paint colors. The place was jumpin on a Friday evening, I was surprised! HGR herself is amazing. The first time she cut my hair, about a year ago, I went via a friend’s referral. I wanted to chop it all off and do something new and HGR listened to what I wanted and did an AMAZING job. She understands your particular hair type and cuts to suite! Then about 6 months ago I started coloring it and, again, HGR totally hit the nail on the head. I’m now a brunette and loving it! Visit this salon and you will not leave disappointed! Don’t forget, ask for HGR

I needed a haircut, but bad. It had been a shameful three months since someone had cut my long and way outta control locks. I was tired of leaving a salon thinking, «Well, I guess this cut is ok. I can always fix the style at home,» which wouldn’t have been so bad if I didn’t have to pay someone for such a lukewarm life experience. A good friend with a similar problem was referred to Stuart Calef of Studio 2602, and she gave me his card. I decided to ring him and schedule a sit in his chair. I told him I needed help. I don’t know nuttin’ about birthin’ babies, and I don’t know nuttin’ about matching the appropriate hairstyle with my face shape. I explained to him I didn’t mind shorter hair, as long as people could still identify me as female. He asked me about what sort of personal hair care routine I had after waking in the morning and how much time I typically spent on my hair during the day. After I replied, «Almost none» and«Definitely none,» he described a new cut, its upkeep, and why he thought it would look flattering. I liked his ideas. «Great,» I said. And so he cut. And dried. And styled. And then he rested. I was super-satisfied with his work, and especially the process. During our session we chatted a bit, and I learned a little bit about him, but not too much. He is an artist and enjoys the hair styling experience as a regular outlet for his talents. I did NOT hear about his family, his most embarrassing moments or his pet peeves. The last time I cut my hair I tried someone new and within 45 minutes I found out she was divorced with a couple kids, had a rocky relationship with her ex in-laws, and had an on-again-off-again relationship with some dude who didn’t seem to «get it.» This stylist took a few minutes away from my head of hair when said dude showed up with flowers and tried to make up after a fight they had. Definitely too much information. When I told Stuart about that scene, he was very professional but shook his head and was proud to say one of his studio rules is, «No drama.» No drama?! I’m in. I paid my $ 40 and didn’t have to fix my hair. Victory!
