My husband and I went into this place for a chocolate class. At first I started to judge the place by the looks. The walls look newly painted, but there could be remodel for the place. With that aside I enjoyed the chocolate class and the chocolate. Dennis was also very nice. For the chocolate class my husband and I learned a lot. We are even doing to try and make some at our house. We were also able to take the ones that we made home =) We made 2 different types: mint chocolate and dark. We did try some of the other chocolates while we were there. A lot of their truffles are very unique, but they do have some«normal» flavors as well. Ginger Wasabi– I normally do not like either, but I found this to be yummy. My husband liked this too. It has a sesame coating. Black Garlic– We tasted this without knowing what the truffle was. It was really good. Balsamic Dark Truffle– My husband’s favorite. He bought two more to go. Peanut Butter Spice– WOW this was so crazy to try. It has a ton of spice packed into it. I think he said jalapeños, and chili(can’t remember the rest) However this had my taste buds just tingling. It was an experience for me. We got 4 when we left to share with our friends. We also had one that was made with mushrooms. YES mushrooms but it was good. Once again I hate mushrooms, but this tasted like hazelnut. The class was fun and my husband and I are ready to make our own creations. He is trying to make a mojito one. Wish us luck. The chocolates here are different and this place has been here for only a year. parking: there is a small lot, but you can find parking on the side streets.

I’ve been meaning to update this review since I went to the chocolate buffet they hosted. There were five flavors: Green Tea Matcha, Ginger Wasabi, Tiramisu, Balsamic, and Basmati Lime. The people I brought were underwhelmed. I think the phrase ‘chocolate buffet’ sparks images of a whole array of different types of chocolate to sample. So five flavors, especially non-traditional ones, were a bit of a let down to people in my party(who were prob less adventurous). I think it would have been helpful to know the flavors ahead of time. Then people could decide whether to go or not based on the selection. According to Seuss, the next month’s selection would concentrate on spicier versions like pepper or szechuan peppercorn. W/o the buffet, each truffle costs $ 1.60 here, so to eat $ 10 you should eat at least 6 and a ¼ truffles. So if you come here and the flavors in the buffet don’t seem to be fit your appetite, then you might go ahead and buy a la carte. You also might make yourself less sick in the process. These chocolates are very rich. And the flavors of the different truffles are strong. A couple of us who ate around 7 chocolates ended up feeling pretty sick afterward. Might have been the weird flavor combos all together or eating 7 rich chocolates in a sitting. Either way, I don’t think I’ll be heading back to Suess.

Went to the all you can eat chocolate event that they have on fridays. Dennis the owner just collected our money and left us fending for ourselves. We had to ask the other patrons to describe the chocolate on the table. There were five different variety s. We tasted each one and only was one edible to the palate. We had five people there and we all had the same opinion. There was only one chocolate on the table worth buying. 30 minutes into it. We decided we had enough. No «thank you for coming.» No «Come again» No «Hope you enjoyed yourselves» Lack of customer service and inedible treats. Not a return customer. Don’t waste your time.

BESTCHOCOLATESINSEATTLE! This place is unique, bold and amazing. Not only is this the best chocolate shop in Seattle, their balsamic truffle is potentially the best truffle I’ve ever had. Unlike other shops, they do not dull the intense flavors of the chocolate with sugars and other additives… the result… bold flavors that pop in your mouth. As others have stated, the owner is soooo nice and very knowledgeable about his product. I highly recommend you stop in for a treat!

I am on Chocolate over load right now, CDD in full affect Yo ! so we went to check out Bill the Butcher today, and what do i see but a sandwich board for Suess Chocolates, just right around the corner it is, if that isn’t a sign from What ever you Believe in, than I don’t know what is sure looked like Destiny too me and it was so after talking to the Butchers and getting a couple Steaks we walked out the back door and into Suess, the man here was busy rolling chocolate balls, but not to busy to answer question and come give us some samples of his yummies, we ended up getting nice little assortment to take home an didn’t brake the bank, even tho I wanted to buy him out and be in Chocolate Heaven for a few hours they have some interesting flavors I have never seen before, and I didn’t find one I didn’t like but then is there Chocolate out there to not like?

The the chocolates were good, but not like ‘can’t live a day without them’ good but this place is what Seattle needed, a place kids can actually go begin what we hope is a life long love affair with chocolate. Love the play area, love the free prezel dip, and the selection of flavors was outstanding: dark chocolate salted caramel, green tea macha? Come on, you gotta try it! I couldn’t find it at first, look to the Southeast corner of the building, inside the parking lot(yes, I said parking lot)

You had me at chocolate. A very cute place in the madison valley. When walking in, the smell of the sweets filled my nostrils. I was impressed with the owner and how great the customer service was during our stop. The dark truffle was out of this world… and the oreo’s dipped in chocolate is like crack to me. The shop has a nice little play area for the little ones, where they can draw, or play with the trains. But the major draw for my son, was dipping chocolate onto marshmallows, and watching him enjoy his«cooking» time.

2009 Seattle Chocolate Salon Review With seven varieties of handmade truffles and full piece tastes this was a great local vendor at this year’s event. My favorite was the dark chocolate truffle while the hubby liked the nuttier truffles.

I was lucky enough to accompany my friend to this great little gem in Madison Park today. They make all their German style chocolates in-house and man, they are fabulous! What this place lacks in décor(they’re brand new & they’ll get there) they make up with with their unpretentious approach to cocoa. Family friendly(kids can actually make chocolate here!) with a case full of goodies from truffles to cookies, the chocolates here are different from most I’ve seen in the other shops around town. They will be offering breakfast pastries sooner rather than later and I fully intend on coming back for some traditional German baked goods. We sampled the hazelnut truffle and the salted caramel truffle… both were equally fabulous and quite different from anything I’d had before. The staff is knowledgable– Dennis knows his stuff– and the prices were fair. Great addition to Madison Park. I like it!

New Chocolate place in Madison Park! This place is in a small shopping area next to Café Flora. It seems like they just opened, and not everything ready. (Ex: their credit card machine is not ready yet.) They have a couple table + a kid table and a drawing board and toy trains. I tried a mini chocolate chip cookie, and my bf tried a marshmallow coated with chocolate.(They were both milk chocolate.) I liked both of them. They had 3 kinds of cookies and about 15 kinds of chocolate. Suess may not be a special place … yet, but it is a nice chocolate store to stop by. I wanna come back to the place when they are fully ready. (Especially their credit card machine.)

try the curry chocolate truffle, don’t be scared! i decided to walk to suess the other day since i had the morning off work and live relatively closeby. it was about 1 in the afternoon and the store was totally empty, but the man behind the counter was in the process of making a fresh batch of balsamic strawberry(definitely going to try that one on my next visit). anyhow, i explained to him that i was new in the neighborhood and interested in their more«exotic» flavors, and he immediately asked if i wanted a sample(which turned out to be just one whole truffle for free, wow!). i bought 6 truffles altogether for $ 1.60 each, which in my opinion is very reasonable for handmade, unique chocolates. the curry chocolate is not at all spicy, with a slight hint of curry earthiness that is divine. my 2nd favorite has to be the matcha green tea since it tastes JUST like green tea ice cream. i’ll definitely be back to try the flavors they didn’t have ready yet, and i’d say suess is worth a visit for anyone wanting to try more adventurous chocolate.
