Sully’s is a great place to get away from the upscale pretentious joints in Seattle and enjoy a cheap beer with the locals. There are a few TVs which were showing hockey, much to my delight. The inside feels like it would fit in on the coast somewhere with a salty fisherman telling tales in the corner by the fireplace. Sully’s stays open later than other bars in the area, and the staff treat you like a regular. It’d be nice if they had more local beers.

Old place, funky smell but enjoying my first Steel Cidre… Yum But hopefully you have no need to use the restroom cuz it is yucky!

Super friendly staff and patrons(including he «Mayor» Charley the boxer), and surprisingly good food. Over-all relaxing atmosphere. NOTE-the only reason there’s not 5 stars is because they don’t have booze

Although their brews on tap could really use some more local beers they have an alright selection of big brewery beers. Dive bar without the over abundance of miserable old people who usually populate these spots like Tims Tavern where you swear people are smoking inside but it’s just how the smokers smell. Good brews and patrons.

Sully’s is pretty solid. It’s a no-frills neighborhood pub with a bunch of taps of tasty beer. It has an indoor fireplace that is oh-so-cozy. It’s a great place for those gloomy Seattle winters for sure. The bartenders are top-notch and friendly. There’s even a barrel of peanuts for snacking on. It is definitely a relaxed place to drink with a couple buddies. It’s not really a place for food, so if you’re looking for grub I’d head across the street to The Park Pub or down to Phinney Market.

Sully’s is one of those bars that knows everybody if you are present enough. I’m not at that level yet, but I’m getting there! It’s just a good dive bar that offers divey bar food, a pretty decent selection of on tap beers(they include craft!) and are always there when your beer or wine is getting even remotely low. The bartenders are always nice and even Sully himself is always willing to chip in when the drinks are a-flowing among the pub patrons. There is outside seating available during the warmer months and the indoor décor has a Southern Germany/Bavarian feel, only divier! It’s great! Awesome place to hang out, drink beer, and chill with friends.

What can I say. If you love a good dive then this is probably perfect for you. It’s kind of shitty and dirty with great beer and microwave pizzas. It also has one of the friendliest and most helpful string of bartenders that I’ve ever encountered. There is a lot of love here and that is something I’d take any day over a fancy establishment. Do yourself a favor and drink here. PS: don’t feel ashamed if you’re not a regular or local.

Cheap veer, great service, and a cozy space! I love that it is dog friendly and has board games. This is a great place to go with a few friends, but avoid going with a big group unless it’s nice out-without the patio seating is limited.

Thank You Unilocal friends. I wear my «BARF» …” . FANATIC“crown with pride right back atcha’. If you are looking for a place for a genuine unpretentious and unaffected good time, this is your SHRINE. I just opened my Sully’s aromatherapy #1…“Piss Sodden Urinal Pub Wall”…“the REAL Irish Spring”. Great for killing moss or anything green… supply is limited… order a bottle by name now!

The last of a dying breed in Seattle. Warm, Cozy, dingy bar/pub. Good selections of beer and great staff. No «mixologists» or 15 ingredient cocktails. Just a good simple pub. Let’s hope we can keep a few more places like this open!

Very cute neighborhood spot. I loved the cozy fire place. The cute bar pup walling around and the clean bathroom. The bartenders were good and friendly with me, and really warm to the locals. Next time I’m in town I’ll drop by.

The owners there are beyond friendly. With the soft October rain, makes me want to come in for a place to dodge the wetness as my dogs and I are quickly welcome in and we took place by the fire. Before we even took our seats, the owners were graciously giving my pups doggy treats and made them feel like super stars(I didn’t think that my dogs even want to leave there). However, if the menu offer much real food choices this would be my new«go to» spot for the weekend. The menu offer food such as hot dogs, and frozen prep items that you can easily find at costco. On the other hand, if you really are truly a regular, people knows that you don’t go there for food. You go there to watch a sports game and beer before noon.

I’m not getting the category listing as «Pub, Irish.» Bicycles and a lawn chair hanging from the ceiling, a jackalope on the wall — it looks like somebody hit a garage sale. This is more of a bar, not a pub. Having said that, it works. It is very small, can get crowded, and get very, very noisy. Not my kind of place, but it seems like the locals love it.

Solid place! A good amount of beer on tap, probably a store bought corn dog(for 1.75-no complaints from me, they likely make many of the other items), and a fun atmosphere. When my friend entered she thought, ‘all this place is missing are swinging saloon doors,’ and sure enough there they were on the bathroom stall. A good crowd was gathered to watch a Stanley Cup game, and odds are Sully’s doubles as a great sports bar whenever you want. Great local spot for all; we felt welcome as soon as we entered. Peanuts aplenty out of a barrel, but not the type of place to throw your shells on the ground, show a little respect! Dogs were allowed, and we liked that a lot! Will definitely be back.

Seattle’s Eastside lacks the character to create really good local Ale houses. An Ale house is built on and thrives by the locals that regularly visit. The community both forms and is formed by them. Since moving to Seattle proper a couple of years ago, I’ve been eagerly discovering and tasting from the plentitude of Ale houses scattered throughout Ballard, Magnolia, Phinney Ridge, West Seattle, and more. I’ve only just now imbidded at Sully’s Snowgoose Saloon. Though the ale was good(I selected the smooth Black Butte Porter from their twenty-nine different ale’s on tap), Sully’s is an Ale house best left to the local locals. Sully’s is confusing. It gives the impression of a traditional Ale house picked up from along some old English road and then dropped on south Phinney Ridge. Multiple times driving by I mentioned to my wife«That place looks interesting. I’ll have to try it.» Sadly, the first thing I noticed when I entered was the smell — a musty, dirty smell typically found in bars, not Ale houses, especially not one with such a wide selection of brews. Sully’s is a bar trying to be a Pub. As a bar is comes complete with a pinball game(where one regular eventually lost his Tommy-like bid after an extend play), jukebox, and one, overworked barmaid. As a Pub it offers a broad selection of good and inexpensive ales. The food, well, Sully’s doesn’t really offer any. Their fare is limited to two types of grilled cheese sandwich, chili, and pizza by the slice. My Pub mate I ate elsewhere. Sully’s has its place among Seattle’s Ale houses. It just not a place I intend upon returning when so many others offer so much more.

Awesome place for the games, great people, dog friendly, and awesome staff. If you have a well behaved dog, they will let him/her in the place without a leash. LVOE!

Interesting place. The people were very friendly but could probably stand to learn a bit more about their beers(our bartender said she had never drank a beer in her life & was unable to answer any questions). This definitely more of a «local watering hole» so if you’re looking for a über chill & relaxed bar, you’ve found your spot. They do only have beer and a few ciders. The place is small but very warm & cozy.

I’d love to give The Goose a higher rating. I mean, they have beer, they have bar snacks, they have a nice patio, and even a fireplace! But here’s the problem — it’s OVERRUN with neighborhood drunks. This place is full almost every single night(great for them), except it’s not full of friendly, mellow folks like you or I. It’s full of loud, sloppy, sports– and government conspiracy-obsessed fools. What’s worse is that if you’re not one of them you aren’t worth deuce. I’m no snob, but the simple truth is it looks nice on the outside but it’s not on the inside. As a bartender friend at a place down the street once said to me, «They cater to the ‘just looking to get drunk’ crowd.»

Peanuts, beer! YEAY! I wanted to try their food, but didn’t have time during my visit. Summer is definitely the ideal time to go since their outdoor seating is really nice. They do have a nice little heater/stove though, so fall nights could be doable too. (Granted I don’t know how often they fire it up.) Many muggles for those of the geo-persuasion as well. If you know my meaning.

So, this place is decked out like a fucking Swedish lodge, it didn’t seem Irish to me at all. Is it supposed to be a fucking Irish pub? It was small and the building was old. The bartender was an attractive lady and there are some books there to read if a you’re a weirdo that like to read books at a bar. They also have a gas fireplace. Pinball. The machines were really old, like from 1960’s. I’m not too into older games but these were in great condition. This place was just kind of cozy and the machines are fun and cheap but I probably wouldn’t hang out there for more than hour. It’s a great stop if you’re going from Ballard/Phinney/Fremont to Greenwood or somewhere up north. They have ‘Target Alpha’(1976) and Super-Flite(1974), each are a quarter per credit(no quarter machine in the bar). Added pics of the machines as usual and also some shit I saw on the bathroom walls while I was urinating(made sure to wash my hands after)
