I had a horrible experience here. I purchased a $ 100+ pair of Male Black Arnette sunglasses at the Oregon location, where I had stellar service — they were having a sale, and even though the store was crowded, it was a great experience and I walked out with a new pair of glasses. Two weeks later one of the sunglass arms broke — they are interchangeable, and came with 2 types of arms, each of a different style — but the Oregon location failed to give me a «connector», rendering one of the arm sets useless. The arm that broke was one of the arms that I was using, so I basically had two«sets» of sunglass arms, one broken, one without a connector. It was my fault that I didn’t check to make sure the arms fit really, so I can let the connector thing go… But 2 weeks and the arm broke? It won’t pop back in, so I called the Oregon location(as I live in Seattle, and was just passing through Oregon), and they reassured me that ANY Sungass hut location would be able to help, refund, etc, whatnot. I felt great. I waited a couple more weeks, then went to the newly opened Sunglass hut here at University Village. The experience was horrible. The associate seemed very disinterested, even though my girlfriend and I were the only ones in the shop, and it was nowhere near closing time. Maybe she was nearing her shift or something. She took a GLANCE at the classes, apologized and said they didn’t sell Arnette glasses at that location, and that she wouldn’t be able to help. I was so frustrated with that response that I didn’t even bother looking around for other glasses, or even inquiring about other options. It was ridiculous. I am so exasperated by this experience that I don’t even want to ever set foot into another Sunglass hut ever again, but I’ve seen happy faces at the Southcenter location, so I would recommend directing traffic there.

Sunglass Hut is great in a pinch, when hunting for a quick pair of sunglasses prior to a trip. This new location is in the newly built part of U Village, right next door to Molly Moons. My first experience here was brief and positive. I was returning a pair of glasses for someone else who bought two pairs before a trip, and ultimately decided to go with the other pair. He didn’t wear this pair at all, and had a receipt. It turns out Sunglass Hut has a pretty generous return policy of 90 days and a promise of easy returns. I personally hate returns and find I take very little back unless it is absolutely necessary. I find the experience can be bumpy and leave me feeling like I’m trying to prove I’m not a criminal, when what I really am(just like most of us) is a valued customer who sometimes loses their original receipt. Where do receipts end up? Maybe they go to a special heaven with lost socks, I don’t know, but for this reason, returns can be traumatic. In this case, I had a receipt. I did find the whole experience to be as promised: easy and painless, saving me a trip back to the Bellevue location. if you’ve been in one Sunglass Hut, you’ve seen them all. I will say this was an easy return and nice new location with what looked to be a wide selection. Frankly, as much as many businesses talk about their friendly return policy, few(besides Nordstroms) follow through. In terms of returns, it’s nice to have a smooth, friendly service experience and have a no hassle return policy prove to be the case.
