For our wedding invites, we had enlisted the help of a friend/​designer from out of town to do the initial design. We knew we wanted a beautiful letterpress design, but our friend’s initial proposals were pretty complex. Julie worked closely with us and our friend to make sure everything translated well on paper… despite the significant amount of effort she invested in making such a challenging design work. She made sure that the vibrant and unique colors we chose didn’t bleed or fade, but instead looked even better once they were printed.
Of all the things we spent money on for our wedding, Swash was by far one of the best investments. Julie is great!

Working in design my entire life I’ve dealt with many, many printers — from companies with 8-​color duplexing 40’s to single-​color basement presses. I’ve definitely had a mixed bag of results from smaller shops, but working with Julie at Swash was one of the smoothest and best experiences I’ve had with ANY printer.
The project was a wedding invite in a bit of a rush (of course) but she made it happen quick, kept me informed the entire time, and even provided some extra 8.5×11 matching paper so I could print some other items myself.
The quality was top notch all around. Five stars for sure.

Julie at Swash Press is a pleasure to work with. We often collaborate on invitation projects (I am a calligrapher and gift designer), and her letterpress invitations are always in sync with the client’s tastes, whether formal, funky, or fun. She is timely, professional, and great to work with.

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience with Julie. The was a disconnect on the design of our card and the initial printing was a disaster. What most dissappointed us was that Julie made us feel like the entire experience was our fault and we were imposing on her.
If you are going to use Julie I highly suggest you be prescriptive in terms of the design of the card and also check, and double check, the colors and text. The other reviews make me think she was having an off month when she took on our project and I hope this is the case.

If you want your invites to make a statement — Julie is your girl!
We told Julie wanted we wanted (in terms of feel, theme, color) and she produced something that we loved. We’ve sent out the invites 2 weeks ago and I’m getting consistent messages from our guests about how lovely our invitations are! Everyone is loving them and I know that this is due to Julie’s design and her letterpressing. Based on her design, we are planning our other printed material around it (like the programs, menus, etc) and we are so excited. We don’t think we would have gotten such a warm response if it weren’t for Julie and her artistry!

I wanted something a little bit different for my business cards and so I went to Swash with really nothing particular in mind other than I wanted the cards to look very professional, sophisticated, and creative. I was sooooooo happy with the final product – it definitely exceeded my expectations. Julie spent quality time with me diagnosing my preferences and overall objectives and then came up with a design that met them all. I would highly recommend Swash to anyone looking for a high quality and unique product!!!

You know that Julie is incredible when I have people calling me telling me how much they liked the invitations and not how excited they were about the wedding. Seriously. As soon as I sent out the invites, every wedding call I got was in regards to the awesome invites that Julie created. My friends who work in the wedding industry said that this was the best invite they’ve ever seen — and it’s all thanks to Julie and her ridiculously creative abilities.

I created an invitation that was a «storybook» rather than a traditional invitation that told the story of how my now-​husband and I met. We’ve moved around from place to place so Julie helped us to capture this perfectly so that even those spouses that did not know us well knew our story. I really enjoyed working with Julie. First, her prices are great for custom design and letterpressing. Second, she’s super flexible on all details. I went to her with a pretty vague idea of what I wanted and she came up with the prettiest invitations which were exactly what I wanted!

Julie was AWESOME!!! Her work is beautiful, the quality of the art and the paper stock was amazing, and the price was super affordable. We could have NEVER done our wedding invites as nice as she made ours. She’s just a joy to work with and so, so talented.

I knew I wanted letterpress wedding invitations, but didn’t have a clue about how to find a printer, how much they charged, and how the process worked. Luckily I came across Swash by accident on the bus one day – the bus stopped and I looked out the window to see the Swash studio.
I called Julie soon after and I couldn’t have been happier at how smoothly the process went and how absolutely wonderful she was to work with. She took our scattered ideas and photo inspirations and created unbelievably unique and beautiful save the date postcards and wedding invitations. We love the fact that ours are one-​of-​a-​kind and we didn’t break the bank to do it. She was open to meeting us on our schedule after work and on the weekends to finalize the proofs and was super accommodating when we made changes and was extremely generous supplying us with extras for those last minute additions and addressing mistakes.
Julie is fun to work with and does a phenomenal job. I highly recommend working with Swash and we look forward to working with Julie again.

Julie is amazing and really nice to work with. Her work is very impressive! I ordered 150 invitations for much less than I would have paid for from other sites. I’m definitey coming back to order more invitations from her for future events. I’m sure that her cute little shop in Wallingford will continue to grow.

I designed my own invitations and came across Swash, a cute little letterpress studio. They were great in putting my invites together and was very reasonable in price. Julie was very helpful in my project and was generous in her printing and envelopes for my less than 100 invitations. It’s great that they take projects big or small. So far I’ve gotten plenty of compliments on my invitations. So check this place out if you are thinking about making your own invitations.

Swash is one of those places that creates instant inspiration for those who enter the door of this little studio. Julie’s giant, gorgeous letterpress machines are a work of art in themselves. And the creations that this woman churns out are truly delicious! Clean, hand-​crafted and visually stunning invitations, note cards and other papery delights that have an edge that only letterpress can give.
I worked with Julie at an ad agency in town where she was a talented designer. She has taken that raw talent of hers and channeled it into this studio. It’s a magical thing!

WOW! If you are getting married anytime soon, get thee to Swash ASAP for beautiful letterpress invitations at an AMAZING price!
I contacted vendors around the entire country for my August wedding, searching for a reasonable price on letterpress invitations — I already had a design, all needed was a one-​color printing. To my dismay, every quote I received was around $ 1000 for a package of 150 invitations, envelopes and response cards.
As I was just about to give up on my letterpress dreams, I found Julie at Swash — in Wallingford of all places! She printed not 150, but 200 invitations, envelopes (two sets!), response cards, AND direction cards for a mere $ 337!
This girl is AMAZING! Not only did she give me a ridiculous bargain, her work is exquisite. When I asked why she wasn’t charging more, she explained she’s just starting her business and wants to be competitive. With prices like these, she will be booked up for the next 10 years before she knows it!
