Pretty tasty. Not too spicy, so those who prefer mild/medium spice will be A-OK. For those who want more heat, they have some cayenne you can add. I thought it was fine as-is — what it lacked in heat, it more than made up for in flavor. All off the toppings mixed together tasted really great — a little spicy, savory, sweet, and a distinct presence of baking spices. I have 2 gripes with this place: 1. It is very inconvenient and messy to eat. You really need a table and a wet-nap to enjoy this without making a giant mess. At the market, you will have neither. 2. I wouldn’t say the tikka masala is very… typical. It is deep red, not creamy, and honestly would be better off renamed. It tasted good, but if I was just craving tikka masala I would be disappointed.

Five stars for the food. One star for the service. Saturday I went to u district farmers market for breakfast. I got a 2 naans($ 3*2)+ 2 mango chutney($ 2*2)+ 2 masala sources($ 1*2)+ 1 rice($ 1)= $ 13. The girl charged me $ 15. I first didn’t realize it, and later reminded her saying: «I think my order was $ 13.» And she looked at me like I was trying to mess up with her. So in front of me, she calculated twice and never got number straight. Then she just gave me a look, «well, if you want, I can give you a dollar.» What?! Did I just ask for spare change? So I was like, «I’m just saying». It’s my fault you don’t do math?! It’s my fault you don’t have a calculator(they sell it at dollar tree for a dollar)?! Well, I’ve been eating here all the time since I discovered the farmers market, and I always brought friends with me. But for the way I was treated today, well, please keep that two dollars for tip and hopefully use one to buy a calculator so you can get other customers’ price right. Thanks!

Finally got to try this place at the Fremont Farmer’s Market. I got the«everything» minus rice because they were out. The garlic naan was topped with garlic oil, chicken tikka masala, mango chutney, and lentils. The mango chutney was amazing and I can’t stop talking about it. I actually only ate the part of the naan with the mango chutney and gave the rest to my BF. The naan was crispy and garlicky — so good. The rest of the toppings I was not crazy about. My BF agreed the mango chutney was the best part. The chicken was kind of dry and in general I am not a fan of lentils. Next time, I’m loading up my naan with only the mango chutney. Can’t wait!

Very, very good vegan naan. The dal is nice. The mango chutney is not too sweet and tastes fresh. The masala sauce complements the naan and rice well. My only issue is the price. $ 9 is expensive for naan for small toppings. The fact is, when you can eat at a sit down Indian restaurant and order naan and a entrée it’s right around $ 9-$ 10, I just have a hard time justifying getting naan from Tandoozy with small sample size portions of dal and rice on top with condiments of masala sauce and mango chutney for $ 9 when it’s significantly less food and you’re forced to stand to eat it. Based on the taste of the meal, you should try it out, at least once!

The vegan plate is easily my motivation for dragging myself out on a Saturday morning to the uvillage farmer’s market. The mango chutney with the rice, lentils, the masala sauce, and the garlic/spice flavors on a naan made fresh in front of you. It’s amazing. But the food isn’t what drove me to write this review– it’s the customer service. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and kind. I tried to pay with card today, and I was informed they only take cash or check. «Or,» as I heard a several time while waiting in line, «if you’re a local, just pay us next time.» I am not kidding. Seriously the most honest, wonderful people running this place. Keep it up, tandoozy! I’ll keep coming back every week.

The garlic naan was great. I asked for extra garlic and boy did I get it :) Good price for the size, especially coming from a food stand. Worth a try Pics posted on Instagram @amanda.n_

Mediocre Indian food for the price. However it is a fun concept. Tandoozy is a huge mobile tandoori stand that pops up at farmers markets and other various locations. Their concept is naan topped with a variety of saucy dishes and chutney. I ordered the«everything» which was everything except the rice which they were out of. The girl taking my order explained that they were out of rice and asked«do you want extra of anything else?» I obliged and asked for more mango chutney. Then she charged me for it… There also wasn’t very much«extra». The naan itself was good. A little burnt and not as fluffy as I prefer. The garlic herb sauce is great, so is the mango chutney! The Lentil Dahl was ok. The Chicken Tikka Masala was pretty sad. It wasn’t spicy or creamy just sweet and runny. Then I realized i paid $ 13 for a piece of naan, a small scoop of Chicken Tikka Masala, a small scoop of Lentil Dahl, and some chutney. When you think most Indian Buffets are $ 10 you realize you got shafted, but it’s already too late.

Still the best Indian food in Seattle. However the prices are starting to get a little ridiculous.

Loved it! Food was piping hot and fresh. Naan was made right on the spot. Good amount of food for the price. I walked past someone else eating the chicken tikka masala and knew I had to have some for myself. I would definitely go back.

Love love love Tandoozy. If you see them you need to stop by! The«vegan everything» is my favorite. Super friendly staff, willing to show you how they bake the bread(super cool), and the food is delicious. Love the green stuff, love the mango chutney. Well done!!!

Tandoori food and I, we go back a ways. When I was a kid, there was this guy who converted an oil drum into a tandoor, and sold amazing tandoori chicken and roti by the side of the street. That remains my gold standard tandoori chicken. Well, that story went nowhere. Anyway, Tandoozy. Such a wasted opportunity. It’s so bizarre to open up a tandoori food stand with *one* staple tandoori dish on the menu(the naan), and one dish to use up leftover tandoori meat(the chicken tikka masala). Dal, rice, mango chutney? All fine, but not essential. Even carb-loving Indians like me wouldn’t eat naan topped with rice; why is this combination so common in Seattle’s Indian restaurants? If you’ve got tandoors, why not offer a menu of tandoori food? Serve up fresh chicken tikka or tandoori chicken instead of dousing it in sauce; paneer tikka or vegetable shashlik for the vegetarians; raita and/or dhania(cilantro) chutney for moisture.(Or, sure, your trademark ‘green stuff’.) But I’m not docking points for the weird menu. The three stars are for the food. The naan is pretty good, and the green sauce has a nice garlic bite. The chicken tikka masala is mediocre, though. The sauce just tastes like tomato sauce out of a can with a bit of added sugar; there isn’t enough heat or creaminess to balance out the acidity and sweetness. For ‘masala sauce’, it’s awful light on the masala. I also think that chopping the chicken finely was a mistake, though I guess it makes sense if you’re supposed to carry it around and eat it like a pizza rather than scooping up the chicken with naan.

Great fresh naan with good solid dhals. I was especially appreciative of my hot meal as it countered the cold. A great have during the Fremont Market!

Went here because I was hungry from the Fremont Street Market. Loved the piping hot naan, but the 3 stars are for the incredible amounts of butter pooled on top of my naan. The garlic and cilantro were definitely nice touches, but I am a plain jane who likes much less butter and more naan. My fault for not saying that ahead of time, but I also didn’t know. Sopped up the butter with 6 napkins.

I love Tandoozy and have been going to them since they opened on a regular basis. I love the chicken so much, they are very convenient for picking up take out when you don’t have the to cook. But last time I went I noticed that the naan was a little too thin and overcooked): By the time I got it home to eat dinner with the fan it was more cracker than naan): Everything else was great(:

I get this when I go to the U District market and the Fremont market. The first time I got the vegetarian/vegan plate. I didn’t like the chutney. Now whenever I go and I know what i like I just get naan with rice and lentils and it comes to $ 7. That’s a really good deal for the amount you get. The naan is amazing. I could definitely eat it by itself. It’s covered in garlic and cilantro oil. Yes, gimme. The lentils have a distinct taste… kind of Christmas-y. I have no idea how to prepare dal, so I have no idea what spices they use. I like it. They put a spice on the rice also and I like that too. All in all, I like it lots.

I saw them at the Fremont market but wasn’t hungry that day(I know, lame…) but was happy to try them today at the U District market. The everything naan was a dollar off today, so $ 11 for a lot of food. We got the toppings on the side so that we could more easily share. The dish was perfect for two, especially because we each had our favorite toppings(mine was the chicken and lentils, his was the mango and rice). The flavors are great and it was definitely fresh-tasting. I can’t wait to go again!

Excellent food! I got the vegan plate and my friend got the everything plate. We both loved our meals. The people are really friendly and the naan is delicious(garlic + cilantro mmmm). The rice and dal on top of the naan were also really good.

Tandoozy is a reliable place to eat at the Fremont Sunday Market. It’s a great place to grab a quick bite — service is prompt and food comes out quickly. The naan is fresh and you get to see it made before your eyes. The olive oil mix on the naan is good but can be messy so watch out. I’ve always been pleased with my food in all the times I’ve eaten there and have come to rely on Tandoozy as my «go to» kiosk at the market.

Dear Tandoozy, I am a Naan Believer. Sincerely, Carolyn ~~~ 1) Service: Sometimes there is a line, however they serve it up hot and fast so I don’t mind waiting. I love LOVE –LOVE– Katjya(I am sure I spelled that wrong) and Craig. They always remember my face, if not always my name and are happy to see me. 2) Location: I adore Fremont Sunday Market, and come here as often as I can, and so I eat here whenever I come down. Parking is only messy if you come after 11. 3) Food: Fan-freaking-tastic. I am not a fan of hot dishes, but I do love flavorful dishes that make me sniffle and breathe.(Know what I’m sayin’?) It may not be hot enough for people who like HOTHOT, but don’t worry, you, they have cayenne waiting for your lovin’. Did I say that it is smokin’ hot when they serve it to you? Just grin and bear the piping-hotness because that is the best time to eat it. 3.a) The naan bread is amazing. Get it with the butter and garlic on it. You will not regret it. SO amazing.(I’m salivating as I write this!) They now have a coleslaw to go with it, and let me tell you as a non-coleslaw eater, I ate it and it was awesome. Love! I always ask for extra chutney(mango and pineapple-raisin) because it’s the best! Ever! Helps take down the heat of the lentil dahl, which to me is spicier than the tikka masala. They do have some stand up dining around the ovens now, so you can stand and eat without having to hold your plate, which is awesome for me because I always hit up the antiques stalls before eating and always have stuff to carry! So, essentially, it is amazing. It needs to be in your mouth every Sunday.
