First time here, server was super friendly and took great care of us and regulars alike. We were impressed with breakfast, ham and eggs with real potatoes and a special with homemade seafood cakes, stuffed hashbrowns and a warm from the oven cherry muffin. Yum!

I’ve known Taradise for many years and she has found her niche. I’m so happy there’s another place open early for breakfast and drinks. I’m a true fan and will be going here all the time. When she puts chicken and waffles on the menu, I’m moving in!

Awesome breakfast food! A lot of the deliciousness of the old Charlestown St. Café, but with the added bonus of being a cozy, kitschy bar as well! (And free pool all the time!!) For me, this is EXACTLY what I want in a local restaurant. It’s in a great location(centrally located in White Center) and its in an historic building! The owner and staff are very friendly.

Ok first things first this a Dive Bar. If you don’t do Dive Bars this will not work. Also remember this has only been opened for one month so there is some kinks to work out. That said, the things I liked large portions, friendly staff, food was excellent(Curry Chicken Salad), atmosphere good, music good, plenty of tv’s to watch the games and the owner was walking around tending to guests while working on what looks to be some much needed updates to the layout. Areas of opportunity, the waitress forgot to offer us rolls with our meal, little bit slow on service(they were packed full when I dined), and the patrons got a little bit too loud but not to be unexpected for a dive bar. I will definitely be going back to enjoy breakfast and a coffee nudge(or two).

Ugh, never had to write a negative review before, but I was so disappointed and embarrassed actually. Came for Sunday breakfast with my out of town BF, we had driven past after picking up Vietnamese sandwiches up the block the day before, and had intended on going to breakfast today, and wanted to be adventurous. Bad choice. Firstly, though the restaurant didn’t seem particularly«packed» for a Sunday breakfast, the service was exceedingly slow, and coffee was a rare commodity. We had to wait at least 10 – 15 minutes to «brew» for the first cup, then again on first refill! We were never told about the specials, and I certainly would have ordered one that was on the board. Secondly, the food was not at all good IMHO. I ordered a country omelette that was so greasy, sooooo much cheese on it, I could hardly eat it. Hard to even find the eggs with so much cheese. He ordered the Taradise omelette, and about 5 minutes after food was served, the server brought out a side plate of avocado apologising that they had forgot to put it in his omelette. His was very greasy as well, neither of us ate more than ¼ of the plate. We waited and waited and waited for a check so we could go home. Lastly, the place is so divey, and not in a good divey way. It looks dirty and like everything there has been there since the 1960’s and not cleaned. It seems to have the exact same«regulars» that have been Marv’s Broiler regulars. I really wish I had gone on my first instinct to get brekkie at Noble Barton half a block down. Totally bummed as I wanted to have a new fave place in my hood!

We were craving salads & I’ve been wanting to try it out. I had the Cobb — fresh greens, great bacon, loads of blue cheese, the chicken was perfectly cooked for the salad! My date had the chicken curry salad — he was thrilled with the portion size & flavor combinations — fresh greens, good chicken, raisins, almonds, cheese & a great curry dressing. Nice, attentive servers. Will be back for breakfast & coffee nudges soon.

I treated myself to breakfast a few days ago on a Monday. I ordered the Taradise omelette and hash browns. It was fine. I’d say on-par with Denny’s or IHOP. Service was great. As others have said, the décor needs a refresher. What really made this place interesting was all the West Seattle natives in the place. Everyone knew each other or knew of each other. Everyone seemed to know Tara somehow. I heard lots of «I graduated from Sealth in 73, when did you graduate? Did you know Billy Bob Bibob? Yeah I was married to his cousin’s best friend for a while. I used to work with Dale Dippydale down at the old junior high» and so on. Frankly I think Young’s up the street has a better breakfast(but it’s closed on Mondays and isn’t open later in the day) but I’m hopeful Taradise will be a solid option too.

This is probably higher then I want to give. This place advertises that it’s bringing the Charlestown Café back and I was so happy to hear that, it being a nice place with good food and reasonably priced. And I loved the idea that something like that was going into White Center, so needed. BUT it is nothing like the Charlestown, not even close. I took friends out for lunch and I was embarrassed for my choice. I had a French dip, tiny little thing with a few strips of over roasted beef on a very uninteresting bun with salty au jus from a can. One friend had over toasted nachos that weren’t delivered hot and melty and we were the only customers. My other friend had a Caesar salad half of which was made up of the butts of romaine, disgusting. The chef appeared to be overwhelmed even though we were the only customers in there. And yes like another reviewer said, it appears to be a hangout for the owners fiends and restaurant workers(who aren’t working). One off duty person was in the kitchen with his coat on munching away on something, I think there’s health regulations about that. Then a person came in accompanied with a large dog and went directly into the kitchen. Again I think there’s health regulations against that. And in conclusion the owners need to stop refering to this place as a reincarnation of the Charlestown Café. It’s just a repainted dive bar seedy bar Marv’s, of which there are plenty of in White Center. It’s not needed. Such a let down.

Just got back from eating lunch here and I’m pretty impressed. Here’s the breakdown: Service: awesome. super nice and attentive. staff was very friendly. Location: It’s in an old old dive bar. I love the Marv’s sign out front, but agree it may need a remodel to transform it into Taradise. The location did not ruin our experience as it did in other’s reviews so no star deducted. Food: Yummy! I had the Taradise turkey sammie and my husband had the burger. Both were super good and fresh. The fries are scratch made and doesn’t look frozen. Overall, I’ll be back with kids in tow. I’m happy to see some good food options in the WC. Oh and the Charlestown chowda is back. I’ll get that next time.

We went in for breakfast on a Sunday morning and waited for about an hour before our food came. This was the norm. Everyone was patient yet frustrated as they waited for their food. Instead of making sure everyone had coffee and water during their exorbitant waits, the staff was busy prepping bottles in the bar. I saw multiple groups get up and walk out. I know it can take time for a new restaurant to work out the kinks, but it seems as though these people haven’t run a restaurant before. The service was inexcusably bad, though the owner was at least apologetic about it. The space itself is like a dive bar but without any of the charms of a dive bar. I never went into Marv’s, but I imagine nothing has changed under new ownership except for sticking up some tacky pink letters on the black walls that spell out Taradise Café. It’s a miserable, soul sucking sort of space. It does get a star for the food. My biscuits and gravy were good and my eggs were cooked correctly. The prices were also fair. Living in the neighborhood, I’d really like these guys to succeed. The menu seems promising but they need to figure out the service side of a restaurant and hire someone to help them redecorate. Until that happens, I’ll keep spending my money at Noble Barton, Proletariat, Company, Zippy’s, Phở 99, Greenbridge Café, etc. Also, there were a ton of fake positive ratings for this place on Facebook before they had even been open. I’m guessing the management had their friends do that. Not cool.

My family went in to have breakfast for dinner with some friends. Our group needed two high-chairs, and they only had one, so we left. I’m looking forward to trying again in a few weeks, hopefully they will be better prepared for families! The West Seattle Blog described them as family-friendly, hopefully they get some more high-chairs so that that can be true. Proprietors of Taradise: please let me know when you have more high-chairs! Thanks! :)

They’ve only been open for a few days, so they are definitely still working out the kinks. We waited an hour for our food, but at least we were warned by the waitress when we ordered. My husband got the steak and eggs, and I got the Taradise omelet and a pancake. We were both pleased with what we got and cleaned our plates. It’s reasonably priced, and it’s definitely nice to have a breakfast option in White Center now that Meander’s has closed. We’ll be back to try the lunch menu in a few weeks when things have settled down.
