A weird setting in the best way. This place is a little slice of the Shire, set in Greenwood. The ambiance says village English pub to me(having never been to England, so) but the details have a lot of local flavor, from the cute forest dioramas to the jackalope over the fridge. And the knob and tube wiring in rafters over the bar is vey Greenwood to me. The house drinks are fantastic. I traipsed around the menu a bit but my partner stuck with the Blackberry Bootlegger — an amazing blackberry Old Fashioned. They pour drinks generously, but well. The Cozy Nut had a casked cocktail when I was there, a Yellow Martinez which is if I remember right a Martini derivative with Yellow Chartreuse, and was amazing. This place is cozy like a winter den, with a back bar, menu, and bartenders straight out of a speakeasy. Service is… slow is the wrong word, it’s leisurely. Which just contributes to the overall setting. It’s a setting you may not always want, but when you do, make a night of it.

This small, lodge-like bar in Greenwood is a very cozy nut indeed. I came here on a Sunday at happy hour with my boyfriend and there was plenty of seating(there was a Seahawks game on, so I imagine all the rowdy fans were at other bars in the area, thank god). We sat at the bar and wiled away the time drinking some tasty cocktails. 5 stars for the attentive bartender and the pleasant atmosphere.

Well, I was in a quandary. Whenever I am in Greenwood I love going to one of my favorite breweries, The Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery but I walked past this place while window shopping and actually shopping and as the name states… it was just too cozy to bookmark and come back for later. So instead of getting two beers at the brewery I went there and just got one. With the full intent of coming back to Cozy Nut. When I went back I saw a very interesting and of course quirky diorama at the entrance of a camp scene made of moss and wood with figures with a big stuffed mountain sheep(I think) lording over the camping participants. Of course the goat had vines in his horns. All a very Pan scenario. It was beyond adorable! The tavern was not just a tease from the outside window. It actually was very warm, cozy and welcoming. I got a fine Pear Cider and just kicked back and relaxed and absorbed the atmosphere. It was delightful! I will definitely be making a return trip with Steven in the near future! The Cozy Nut is an adorable place!

A nice place for a cozy cocktail and a little snack. They don’t have a full kitchen, so no sandwiches, burgers or fries. The menu features several varieties of bread, cheese and sausage which you can order a la carte. Also little bowls of nuts, which fits with the squirrel theme! You’ll see several of the taxidermied creatures throughout the bar, so if you’re the kind of person who is weirded out by dead animals, this might not be the place for you. They have a great selection of beer on tap, and create some inventive versions of classic cocktails. The pace here is a little slower, so cozy up to the fake fireplace, or tuck into a booth for nice evening in Greenwood!

Is this a small logging town bar circa 1982? Greenwood meets twin peaks. Great list of craft cocktails and very good beers on tap. Taxidermy displays at their best! Duck rillette please.

I want to hang out here every night. The place has a fun atmosphere that reminds me of a ski lodge, yet with a woodland creature theme! My friend and I sat at the bar and played cards while we drank and chatted. Across the bar we saw a large group playing that game where you have the name of a celebrity on your head and you don’t know what it is but you have to guess it… point being that people settle in and have a good time without getting crazy(or at least on this given night they didn’t). THe place was FULL the whole time we were there but it never felt cramped or claustrophobia-inducing, and even though we weren’t buying drink-after-drink, we never felt pressured to get out and make room for other customers. Bartenders are friendly and seem to enjoy shooting the sh*t with anyone and everyone. Fair prices, vast drink selection, easy location.

This place needs to do some seriously cleaning. The windows are filthy with fingerprints. We walked in on a Saturday night and the place smelled like pee and felt musty.

Great little bar. Good atmosphere. With amazing service. Good beer selection. The bartenders all make a great cocktail especially the old fashion. Essentially d No tv’s which is nice.

Great bites! Fresh squeezed juices. Andrew and Sam are the friendly bartenders. The coleslaw and the duck roulette was so yummy, I returned just a couple days later… and I attempted to make my own coleslaw at home.

I love this place. Seriously love it. First of all it’s cute as a button, a quirky mix of European lodge with a touch of art deco flourish and a sprinkling of strangely delightful dioramas. The bartenders are delightful, friendly and love their craft. Fresh squeezed grapefruit. Nice bar food.

I love this place, the owners and the locals are great. They don’t have any televisions so it’s really easy to spark up a conversation or jump in on one in progress. I’d recommend the cozy to anyone looking to meet new people or roll with a small group.

Very nice feeling, staff was welcoming to us first-timers. The regulars seem both merry and mellow. Décor upholds the hobbit implications of the name, and is all reused lumber. Very appropriate for Greenwood.

This is a gem of a local bar in the Greenwood area. Great music always plays from an old 70s Marantz or Kenwood tuner rigged with an iPod, the décor is cool, the bar selection is solid, and the bartenders are friendly, nice, and make a delicious cocktail. It’s never crowded when I’ve gone, so there’s always two spots at the bar for my wife and I.

While this has quickly become one of our favorite places in Greenwood due to the great drinks and awesome décor, it was the sign and the name that originally got our attention. I mean, how could you NOT want to go to into the Cozy Nut Tavern? I’m so happy to see how great this place has done, last time we went there was not an empty seat in the house!

My favorite bar in Seattle. It also helps that they’re less than a block away from my apartment. Super cozy(pun intended), rustic, dim, & overall amazing. The bar look as though it was carved out of a tree and the establishment itself give off the vibe that it belongs on some back road in Upstate, NY. Bartenders are nice & laid back, great prices, always kick ass music playing and complimentary warm Corn Nuts. Small plates too!

Awesome addition to Greenwood! We finally made it in a couple of weeks ago and it did not disappoint. They made some great crafty style cocktails, but not pretentious about it at all… just good. The bartenders were super nice and attentive. They kept giving us these amazing little corn nuts to snack on. They were 10x better than the corn nuts that you get out of a vending machine. Super funky décor… lots of animals drinking and smoking. The music was pretty random and great. It really does have a cozy vibe to it. This is a contender for my favorite Greenwood spot along with Chucks and the Yard.

Place is amazingly decorated and they have a good drink selection… but the worst service ever. There where 2 staff members and only 2 other people in the bar when we arrived. We sat at a table and waited, about 10 mins passed when a staff member brought us a menu and told us we had to order at the bar. Only 4 people in the bar and we have to get up and find you to make an order, really unprofessional. We ordered at the bar and I got some snack food because that’s really all they have there since there is no kitchen. It cost way to much for what I got. When we wanted our second drink the place was now full so we had to take turns to go find a staff member so we wouldn’t lose our table. All in all it was way to hot(over the summer), bad service and way more money then I felt I should have paid. Wont be going back any time soon.

I went here on rainy night it was just what I needed to imbibe and relax. Wonderful addition to Greenwood. Nice tap selection! Tiny dishes of nuts! Awesome service! Fun place to look at décor! Exclamation points are necessary for this place!

I was sold when I heard this place had«odd» taxidermy. I think a better term is «endearing» taxidermy :) This place is amazing. Very cool, cozy & intimate. It’s a warm space. Came about 10pm on a Saturday night & snagged the last booth. There was some rotation of seating(some Greenwood pub crawlers). The food selection looked fairly limited but the drink selection was AMAZING. I had something with Champagne & it was fabulous! Staff was nice, space was inviting, drinks were good(about $ 8). I will def return.

I Love this place! I work next door and I’ve been watching the build out of the bar over the last few months. The finished product is great! One of the owners is a wood worker and a boat builder so you can see the attention to detail. You would assume that this place had been here for a long long time based on how settled it looks in here. But it’s brand new! The people are kind and the selection is great. Check out the animals at the entrance!
