I love that Claire has brought«local» shopping to the West Seattle Alki area. She has a great variety in the store, which is small, but has a little of everything. I was SO excited to find locally made soaps — they’re fantastic! I also picked up a fun post card for a quick«Thank you» note for a co-worker and she loved it. I bought one of the seasoning rubs as a gift, but I’m sure it will be a winner, too. Claire is friendly and knowledgeable about her products. She is open to suggestions for more products and sources, and clearly loves what she does. Go shop local!

We came in here last Sunday, after reading about it in the West Seattle blog. As West Seattleites and locavores, we had high hopes and were NOT disappointed. There’s a variety of gift goods here, from tea towels and soap to gag gifts, pet stuff and chocolate. I walked out with about $ 50 in awesomeness. The customer service was great– the space is small, but it felt like chatting with the owner over coffee more than a cramped shopping experience. She said they have plans to expand in the future along the General Store theme, offering groceries, everyday items, etc… i can’t wait! Although things are pricier here than at box stores, they’re definitely more unique and come with a story(and a benefit to the local economy). (if you get lost looking for it, it’s on Harbor Ave. just a few doors north of Kitty Harbor!)
