Excellent place to grab a drink and some great bites in magnolia. I’ve always had excellent service and have been happy with the selection, atmosphere and overall experience! Definitely the classiest place to get a drink in the neighborhood! On my very first visit, I was very pleasantly surprised by how great the place was and have been loving it since.

Really like the Nook. I tend to get the Mediterranean Plate(hummus, peppadews, olives, cucumber, onion, feta, pita), but have tried the salad, French dip, grilled cheese, tomato bisque, and salads — all quite good and reasonably priced. Not a huge place, but that’s fine, and it’s usually not so crowded you can’t get a seat(not empty and depressing either). Glad this is in the Village!

Pretty underwhelming experience. It looked so promising. Friendly bartender, cute space. I ordered the cubano sandwich and I think the most exciting part of the meal was the poppyfield salad. Great atmosphere to grab apps and drinks but definitely not a place I’d go if you wanted a great meal in Seattle.

The Nook is an okay spot. I like the atmosphere. It’s small and cutely decorated. It’s a good date spot to grab a drink before or after dinner. The food items all seem like stuff that’s microwaved– there’s probably not much of a kitchen in this tiny space. I wouldn’t suggest the food but a good spot I you’re looking for a place to grab a low key drink.

This is a classic unassuming bar/restaurant with a great vibe, friendly service, great beers, and good prices. Note: The visit won’t be complete without partaking in their incredible tomato soup + grilled cheese. Trust me — try it.

I stopped in last Friday evening to meet some friends for drinks. I was thrilled that they had my favorite vodka: Hangar 1 Kaffir Lime. So that’s 5 worth stars in my book! I was also hungry — but not too hungry. The bartender suggested their spinach salad, which was just what I needed. It came with sliced almonds and strawberries on it. I should have asked for some more dressing, but didn’t think about it until I was about done.

A hip bar in Magnolia? NO! Say it ain’t so. Well, it’s not crazy hip. It’s Magnoloa after all. But as far as any of the watering holes I’ve visited in The Village, this one is the closest to my speed. Tasty cocktails, friendly bartenders, solid spirits selection, good wines, and high-end draught beers. The vibe is upscale, dark and atmospheric. The small shotgun space makes for cozy drinking times. The mellow Magnolia setting keeps things from being too rowdy. I sampled a few drinks here as well as some interesting pours of niche craft spirits. These two elements alone make for a good bar in my book. But add in a serviceable quesadilla(as well as some other decent-looking bar bites) and there’s just another reason to visit. I can’t say I’d make this a destination bar. The cocktails are head-and-shoulders above your average bar, but it’s not quite to my desired level of craft cocktailology. That said, it’s close enough to my home base in Seattle that I could see myself visiting this bar more often than not when I’m in the area.

Great neighborhood place. Quiet and higher quality drinks and food. Menu is constantly changing and so is beer and spirit supply. Owner is very friendly.

I love Nook! Great place for a quiet drink in the neighborhood. Quiet…except when we invite 20 people to join us there for a birthday celebration. Could have been a rough night, but the bartender was super cool about us packing out the place. Very friendly folks!

The one place in Magnolia where you can have a glass of wine, hang out for a while, meet a friend or bring a date and not spend a fortune or be surrounded by a bunch of rowdy drunks or screaming children. Good joint…

I love the name, its very fitting. If you play Animal Crossing you probably love the name as well. I’ve only had wine here before, but its a great place to stop in and grab a drink if you are in the area.

Great little neighborhood wine bar, now with a full bar. Great and friendly service, and pretty good food too. Good atmosphere, outdoor seating, clean. I’m jealous I don’t own this place. I love it.

The atmosphere was inviting for a mature crowd. The food was nicely priced. The service was normal, nothing out of the ordinary. But if anything stands out it’s the food. It is absolutely delicious. Mouth watering, we had a table of four and had to just start sharing our plates.

This is an awesome hole in the wall that I just happened to stumble upon while out with a friend. I love the look of this restaurant/bar from the outside, and the inside is just as eye-catching. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a nice conversation with the bartender who was more than happy to let us sample some of the wines to help us in our decision of which one to choose. We enjoyed all the wines so it was not an easy decision! Also, since we were there during happy hour, we were treated to a bowl of complimentary truffle popcorn, which was quite tasty! The menu had a nice selection with great prices. We decided to split the grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup, and that was definitely a great choice! The sandwich was unique and delicious, and the soup hit the spot on the slightly chilly October day. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with our time there and look forward to going back again soon so I can try more wine and more items off the menu.

Great find! Cheap prices, great location in the heart of magnolia village, and delicious food! They have an amazing grilled cheese with tomato soup for only $ 5! Not to mention $ 3 tall boys of rainier :) The staff was also very friendly, attentive, and funny, and the service was fast! Very very pleased with this place and will definitely be coming back!

I was very pleased with this dining choice. The truffle popcorn was delish, they were very accommodating to my onion allergy… my ham and brie with mango chutney(sans caramelized onions) was very yummy and the side salad they offered in lieu soup with possible onions in it. The bacon on the salad was thick and tasty. My dining companion, however, did not enjoy her meal. The menu is limited to about 4 or 5 appetizers, 4 or 5 salads and 4 or 5 sandwiches. None of which appealed to her. The restaurant, however, was kind enough to remove her meal from our bill. If you like pork and cheese based sandwiches and simple but delicious salads, this isn’t a bad choice at all.

I think The Nook is my new favorite place in Magnolia! I went last night, and am already looking forward to a return visit. Ambiance is great — they somehow have a classy place that is casual at the same time. Food was delightful — I had grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup. Both were super tasty and the perfect portion size. My date had the turkey sandwich and chicken curry soup — delish. Simple, yet creative menu. Beer was just what I needed after a long day of work. I didn’t have any wine, but they have a good selection of wine by the glass or bottle.(Btw, I love a place who’s beer/wine menu is twice the size of the food menu!!) Staff was attentive, helpful and seemed to be happy to be there. We took a long time to order, moved from outside(YES, they have a couple of outdoor tables!!) — the waitress didn’t mind one bit and didn’t throw out any attitude. The only down side is that it’s a relatively small space — maybe why it’s called«The Nook»? Not a problem for us, since there were two in our party, but if you have a large group — this may not be the ideal place. Every since I’ve moved to Magnolia I was hoping a place like this would arrive. This is a great addition to the Village and to Magnolia. I can’t wait to go back!

Was so hoping to be the first reviewer, but alas, if something’s this good, Unilocalies just can’t keep their paws off the keyboard! Food wise, Paseo’s it’s not. But much better, imo, than it’s previous tenant Swirl(aka: «swill») wine bar. Décor is what I’d call ‘modern rustic’(think Restoration Hardware with dim lighting –a lot like places you’d find in San Francisco). The crowd are local professionals, hip, but not pretentious –and business casual. They serve bleu cheese tater-tots, good salads, ribs, snacks, soups, sandwiches, a good beer & wine selection, etc. Staff are pleasant and REAL. This is the coolest place in Magnolia, and I imagine it will be the local place to hang out come Summer. About time Magnolia Village saw something like this here! Bravo!

Went in on the opening night. I walk by every day, so I was really excited to try it. I used to like Swirl, but did not go often because they were not varied enough in drink and menu. The Nook has added just the perfect amount of variation and retained everything that I loved about Swirl! Here are the highlights: * Staff was friendly, and attentive. * Food was simple, distinct, and very flavorful. There was a nice selection for vegetarians too. * Drink choices were great, both wine and beer. And the wine glass pours were AMPLE. Very nice touch. We sampled a few of the wines from the list, they were all very nice, and what I liked most was the clear descriptions and ease of ordering. Overall, just a great little spot to go hang out. Maybe not a long distance destination, but if you are in the area, you can’t beat it. I’ll be back. Often.

As a former resident of Magnolia, I’m so excited to see a place like The Nook open up because my husband and I wanted a friendly place to go where we could grab a beer and a good meal. For dinner I had a beer, warm olives, salad(which I split with two other people), and a ham and brie sandwich w/tomato bisque. The food was great and I plan on visiting again soon. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. I highly recommend visiting The Nook after a golf game at Interbay, visit to Discovery Park, or if you are just in the area.
