Timberlake, Aleinikoff, and Shaw DDS

Dr. Timberlake and Shaw are both great dentists. The office is always fun and calm. You hear laughs and everyone is so friendly.

Dr. Shaw has been amazing with my 5 year old daughter. Shes had a filling and needed to go back for the same thing. She woke up and said Yay! when I told her where we were going. At one point I overhead him singing a song from the movie Frozen to her. I’m so thankful to have such a kind and gentle dentist to take care of my kids teeth.

Let me begin by explaining that I have some major dental anxiety. I hate going to the dentist and have had a handful of bad experiences (ones that include great pain) elsewhere that have supported why I hate going.
Dr. Shaw recognizes my anxiety and does everything to help put me at ease. He explains everything he is about to do before doing it (because my anxiousness is also fueled by the need to know what is happening at each step). He has a very gentle and calm energy about him as well, which helps further to put me at ease. Not once has Dr. Shaw put me in pain or discomfort. Incredibly accommodating and professional… but also a great «bedside» manner.
The hygienists including Victoria, Solmaz and Nicole are all so friendly and welcoming, and they really take good care of their patients.
The office manager, Ana, is so accommodating and flexible… something that I have greatly appreciated.
The bottom line for me is that this office clearly cares about their patients which is so important for someone who has dental anxiety… and although it seems like a simple ask, humanity has been removed from many businesses and services it seems.

I’ve had the pleasure of all 3 dentists take care of my dental needs over the past few years. Each Doctor, Assistant and Hygienist are professional, take the time to explain my treatments thoroughly, make sure I’m comfortable and do excellent work. The Front Desk Staff is always willing to go above and beyond to help with my scheduling, insurance and billing needs. 5 stars to a wonderful team!

I have been going to Dr. Craig Timberlake since 1984! Yes, I know !!! I am that old.:) This has been a family practive oevr the years and I love the family feel the office has. I have always had quality work at reasonable costs. Most of the 29 years I have NOT had dental insurance coverage so I have paid for quite a few fillings and crowns out of pocket over the years. His work has held up well and that is what it is all about. Most importantly I trust him. He has always been up front and honest about the choices of how to proceed with dental issues and what the costs are. He gives a timeline that is most helpful to have the work done and prevent additional problems. He is conscientious and thoughtful towards his patients… he truly cares about his patients! Kudo’s to such a great family dentist!

I’ve been going to Dr. Aleinikoff for over 20 years! He is very friendly, thoughtful and conscientious. I appreciate that he keeps a watch on certain teeth rather than rushing to fix them prematurely. He always does excellent work on my teeth including replacing old fillings and putting in two crowns. The assistants in his office are also terrific. Centrally located in the U. District, he’s the best dentist around!

Don’t get me wrong Dr. Timberlake is a great dentist but he is way to expensive. I had a root canal done that cost $ 1600.00 for 2 hours, that doesn’t include the crown which is another grand. He’s no longer a preferred provider of Washington Dental starting Nov.16^th. I was told by him directly, this is because, they were putting his patients’ health at risk by limiting how much he can charge. I’m no expert but $ 800 an hour seems to be a pretty descent wage. Considering the last time I went to the office it was equipped with all new chairs, digital x-​ray machines and a new coat of paint. Timberlake may be a good dentist but he is arrogant in the idea that he is the only one. In the end I may have to look awhile to find another good dentist but there are a lot of dentists to choose from.

I should have written something about Dr. Alienkikoff years ago. I’ve been going to him since shortly after he started his practice with Dr. Timberlake 20 years ago!
He is thorough and thoughtful and does great work. He replacing several old fillings of questionable quality from my teens and early twenties. Aside from cleanings I’m very squeamish about dental work — all the work he did to fix sub-​quality dentistry was done carefully with attention to making me feel relaxed. I haven’t had any issues with any of his work over the years and I haven’t had any new issues — so I know he’s not mining my mouth to make a boat payment. ;-)
My husband and and two kids are patients as well and we all think he’s great.

He did my family’s teeth for about 5 years and he did a great job for all of us. I found him to be knowledgeable, straightforward, proficient and friendly. I really miss having him as a dentist.
