It’s rare that I find crêpe offerings in Seattle. SIGH. Although, my friend told me about this place and how fantastic it was. After eating a meal at Maneki with the fam, which is nearby, we stopped by for dessert. I tried the strawberry daifuku, which is strawberries, whipped cream, mochi, and red bean. The crêpe was PERFECT! Crisp on the edges, soft and fluffy throughout. Strawberries were sweet and fresh, whipped cream was light and yummy, mochi was QQ and delicious, and the red bean was a delicious paste. What I love about this place is the fake models of the types of crepes that they offer. They looks so real, and really add to the restaurant. AWESOME! I wish this place was still open…

I’m not a huge crepes fan, but after this visit — OMG!!! I died and went to Crepes Heaven!!! This joint is small, cute and homey. Came here on a Sat night and the place was pretty busy. There are so many choices and varieties — I wanted to try everything!!! I ended up getting the Strawberry Choco Whip, and also tried another with coffee, cookies and ice cream. IMO the coffee flavored crêpe was so much better! Also, you get a free coffee or tea with crêpe purchase. The coffee was yum! The employees are artists, and they design each crêpe delicately and quickly! I was very much impressed with their precision. Very intrigued with this concept. A crêpe in a cone?! GENIUS –food on the go!!! Me like!!!

This review is solely to tell y’all that Unicorn Crepes has changed their name to «UNICONE» Crepes literally meaning: One Cone. Cause it’s wrapped in a cone. Get it? Want pictorial proof? It’s in the photos! This came about after they opened the store in Southcenter according to one of the employees. I feel like I’m writing a newspaper article here. Still one of my favorite sweet spots, a refreshing change from ice-cream and gelato and the dozens of cupcake spots that Seattle sports. New fav? The biscuit, coffee, ice-cream combo. The coffee is a just perfect sprinkling of coffee powder but I like to swap the biscuit cookies for cornflakes for a more satisfying crunch. And they play hilarious Asian music videos. So git at it!

PROS –lots of options –plastic/rubber models to choose from –opens late –free cup of tea or coffee –cute crêpe maker(last time i was there) CONS –soft, and not crispy crepes –canned sugary fruits(ie. strawberry) –can get crowded once a group stumbles in(more annoying if they’re.uh young) –price. could be cheaper

Excessively saccharine J-Pop, a bright, cheery color scheme, slightly off phrasing of menu items(like«choco whip») and young smiling male staff paint a very directed image. No vending machines with questionable clothing items, although I was half expecting to see one next to the tea, cup included, dispenser of which one can partake with crêpe purchase, but in general I feel like Unicorn is an adequate representation of a 12 year old white American Hello Kitty-obsessed otaku girl’s view of Japan. Moving on to matters of fluffier substance, we shared the strawberry + choco + almond + whip crêpe cone(~$ 5) and it was sweet, sugary, slightly crispy, shareable and satisfying, a fitting end to an earlier savory dinner of hot pot. On the other hand, the plum chai tea issued by the bonus machine was overly sweet and we left it behind. Was I unhappy I took a later bus to stop here for dessert? No. Did I enjoy the main purpose of the visit? Yes. Was I slightly uncomfortable by the creepy positive energy that pervades it? A little. Would I do it again over trying to expand my rotation for sweets in the ID? At some point.

Oo, crepes that are actually thin! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them making these, because I can’t remember the last time I’ve been to a creperie that made these properly(granted, I haven’t been to THAT many in the last few years). My coworker and I had passed Unicorn on our way to Green Village, and decided to save some room for dessert after our lunch. Despite that, we still ended up eating too much, and considered splitting one, only to find out after ordering that these aren’t quite served in a way that makes sharing easy. So we ended up getting both a strawberry custard as well as a choco banana crêpe. And you know what? My strawberry custard was darned good. My only qualms were that I wish they had a bit more substance(too much cream, not enough strawberries) and that they used fresh(er) fruit. But hey, for $ 4.95 and a free cup of coffee/milk tea/chai, it’s not bad, not bad at all.

I totally dig the idea of a crêpe being rolled up into an ice cream cone or «Unicorn». Makes it easy to eat and great for on the go. I have not ventured out of the two favorites which are strawberry chocolate with corn flakes and banana custard chocolate with corn flakes. When my sister first told me about the corn flakes I was a bit hesitant. Cereal on my crêpe? Really? Their free mini coffees that come with a crêpe tastes like instant foldgers but it’s so cool to watch it being dispensed from a machine that looks so foreign(well it is Japanese). The crêpe with corn flakes turned out to be so delightful. The kids that are behind the counter are really friendly too.

Goodness and niceness envelop your joyous spirit, running through meadows of whipped cream and berrylicious filler. Yeah, it was nums and they did not laugh at our japanese language skills, serving us close to closing without bitching. 5 horns all the way.

Wow! This place blew me away! My friends have been talking about Unicorn Crepes for months, and some even stop in once a week. I’ve always liked crepes, but over the years I’ve probably had more breakfast crepes than dessert crepes. Well, that’s about to change. The first thing you’ll see when you enter is the L-shaped glass display case showing the countless varieties they offer. I didn’t count, but I’d estimate around 50 choices, even more if you add toppings or customize yours. Apparently each of the crêpe models are handmade wax sculptures that cost a couple hundred each. Well worth it, in my opinion. My advice is that if you get a crêpe with ice cream(listed as simply«ice») you’ll want to eat it a bit faster than I did. Otherwise, when you get down to the last third and unwrap it, the melted ice cream will get all over your hand/arm like it did mine. I guess I was taking my time and savoring it just a little too much. You also get a tiny free cup of milk coffee or tea, which is perfect for washing down the very sweet crepes. I’ll be back soon…

Craving some sweetness during the ID Street Fair, we ventured to Unicorn for a quick snack. Let me just say, I love the coffee machine. With that said, the crepes were original and delicious. They have both sweet and savory crepes and I opted for the corn flake, choco whipped combination. At first I thought it was going to be folded and plated just like other crêpe places, but when they said it was ready and I saw this cone-like, paper wrapped structure awaiting me, I was both confused and delighted to try something new. As I held my crêpe, I gave it a good once over to determine how I was going to attack it. I decided to just go for the big first bite. What happened afterward was delightful. The soft crêpe on the outside held all of the crunchy, sweet, and creamy goodness together like magic. Yes it was just chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and corn flakes… yes corn flakes, but trust me, simple is best. They also offer savory crepes as well, including a chili dog crêpe which I am going to try next time. Did I mention the coffee machine was way cool. Check it out for yourself.

Was really tasty, but a 5 star review completely overrates this place. Their crepes are pretty pricey(nearly $ 6 a piece) and the way they are served make it pretty much impossible to share. So you’re stuck with either stuffing yourself, throwing a bunch of it away, or awkwardly trying to share it with someone else. Having said all of that, it’s definitely worth trying. I guess I was just expecting more based on all the rave reviews!

BF and I came on valentines day and the workers were so friendly! One guy noticed that I was shivering(I was visiting from SoCal and was not used to the 40 degree weather) and told me to drink a chai tea from the machine. We ordered the choco whip corn flake crêpe and they threw in 2 pocky sticks and wished us a happy valentines day. The crêpe was really good. I like how the whipped cream isn’t from a can. There is a huge difference! While enjoying our crêpe we browsed Japanese fashion magazines(:

I lived in Japan for 3 years, where they have lots of little crêpe stands here and there. Surprisingly, this place is EXACTLY the same as the ones I had in Japan!!!(^O^)//// Same fillings/toppings, same display case(which is very handy for trying to decide which yummy one to try!). *Personally I reccommend the Strawberries with Ice Cream, or the Choco Banana They could use a little more seating inside, but most of the time I buy one to go and eat it while walking. It’s a great little blast from the past, and a fun place to try on a sunny weekend day! Key Points: Staff: Friendly Food: Delicious! Lots of options, something for everyone Drinks: Typical fountain drinks /bottled sodas Atmosphere: Same as a crêpe shop /stand in Japan. Great for: A snack before /after shopping with friends, something fun to go try with the boyfriend

Okay, first, if you are a die-hard crêpe snob(which I thought I was), you probably won’t like this place(or at least you won’t admit it to your French ex-pat work-mates). I had the Okinomomiyaki(sp?)(lettuce, Cupie mayonnaise, bonito flake, yummy brown sauce, and hard-boiled egg slices) and it was sooooooo good. One thing I’ve noticed about new Japanese cuisine, they fit every bit of World foods into their lifestyle and call it their own. I would say that most of these ventures have been a success. Unicorn is no exception. Superb! I await the day they do a paella crêpe! Now THAT would be cool. I am awarding 4 stars not because they’re better than a traditional French creperie, but the concept and context through which it exists, deserves it.

This is a really fun and tasty place to visit for a unique treat. The staff is super-friendly, the service is quick, and the quality of the crêpe is spot-on. I wholeheartedly recommend the banana custard choco whip crêpe. Incredible! While you’re there enjoying your crêpe, check out the cool display they have of all their crêpe creations. Also, don’t forget to grab your free Chai tea or coffee drink! Oh, and by the way — the bathroom is pretty crazy too — definitely worth poking your head in. This is a great place to grab a satisfying dessert after enjoying some of the incredible Asian fare available in the ID. And no, you can’t get extra unicorn in your crêpe — I already asked!

CREPEENTHUSIAST!!! I’ve been searching for a good crêpe spot thats affordable and delicious. I tried my luck in the u-district only to discover they no longer serve crepes. I thought to myself Chinatown has to have crepes but never found a spot until now. I must have been blind to miss this place since it’s been open 9 months. From the window I can see the displays of crepes. More selection, the better. Nobody was in there but alot of people walking by and slowing down. I walked in, tried to sustain my tastebuds and I scrolled the menu and the displays of crepes, and ordered Strawberry Almond Crêpe. I watched them make my crêpe, the whipcream to the strawberries, to the almonds, and then chocolate syrup. The crêpe size was huge for under $ 5. I was actually very pleased with my crêpe and will continue to support the success of this establishment. YUM!

This places makes my mouth all happy. Happy happy happy mouth full of crepes!!! Happy is the opposite of what a snow come in Philly in August is: other than slowly dying a very undignified death, it is thoroughly depressed. I want me some crepes wrapped up like a snow cone!!! CUSTARD!!!

mmmm. Crepes… I truly enjoy coming here, the owners are sweet, the service is fast, and not only is the décor cute, but the crepes are fantastic! They have a pretty extensive menu, although a lot of it is kind of mix and match, but still pretty awesome. I love the way they wrap their to go crepes in an ice cream type wrapper, but then they also take it to the next level and put it in a plastic bag that perfectly fits the crêpe. Awesome. Go get some crepes!

Hooray! Unicorn Crepes finally re-opened(June 20) after a three-week closure due to remodeling. Not much has changed in the physical layout of the place, but I was happy to see that they expanded their menu to accommodate 20+ new crepes! I usually make a pit stop at Unicorn Crepes at least once a week when I am not really hungry and need something to tie me over to my next meal. The following items I’ve had and the price listed is the new price since they reopened. Next to it is the price increase. The price increase was due to the cost of ingredients going up. Sweet: Strawberry Whip($ 3.99/.34), Strawberry Choco Whip($ 4.25/.60), Strawberry Custard Whip($ 4.50/.51), Ice Strawberry Whip($ 3.99/.26), Strawberry Yogurt Whip($ 4.50/.51), Custard Pudding($ 4.50/.85), Choco Whip($ 2.99/no change), Almond Choco Whip($ 3.99/.34), Corn Flake Choco Whip($ 3.99/.34), Banana Choco whip($ 3.99/.34) and Banana Custard Choco Whip($ 4.50/.51). Some of the above items have a blueberry option also! Plus the custard they use is organic. Light Meal(Savory): The following are all $ 5.95(up .96) — Unicorn Crêpe, Teriyaki Chicken Salad, Teriyaki Cheese Chicken Salad, Tuna Cheese Lettuce, Potato Salad($ 4.99/no change), Tuna Lettuce($ 3.99/no change) and Spicy Tuna($ 4.99/new item). The Unicorn, Teriyaki Chicken Salad and Teriyaki Cheese Chicken Salad Crepes are seasonal and available in the fall. So if you happen to be in the area, stop by and grab a great Japanese-style crêpe from these guys! They are super nice and you will leave with a smile on your face! I hope that Stephanie P’s quote isn’t true: «Every time you smile, a unicorn gets punched in the face.» If it is, just look at it as collateral damage! *If you pay by card and your purchase is under $ 5, then you will be assessed a fee of .50. YYYYUUUUMMMMOOOOO !!! YYYYUUUUMM M M MMOOOO !!! YYUUUUMM M MMOOOO !!! YYUUUUMM M MM == OOOO !!! YYUUUUMMMMOOOO !!! YYUUUUMMMMOOOO YYUUUUMMMMOOOOO !!! Yes, I used a Rachel Ray quote. There! I said it!

The time finally has came. Japanese style crepes. Do you know what we are good at? Modifying, or changing or transforming. We change every thing into«Japanese style» whatever that means. The crepes might not taste same as French crepes. Well, they probably don’t. But you know, we make good cars, so why not crepes? Anyways, I went to the place a week ago. What impressed me first was the display. The little crêpe wax figures looks just like ones in Japan. (However, they are probably imported from Japan) The crêpe I ate was ah… chocolate and bananas or something like that.(I can’t memorize any«English» words, sorry) It tasted really real, I mean good. There were a lot of bananas and chocolate and whipped cream inside of the mighty rolled crêpe. One good thing about it is that they are rolled and wrapped with a paper, so you can walk and eat. (Although they have some tables and enough chairs to sit down) The butter was kind of soft for Japanese style crêpe but wasn’t too bad. The price range was pretty reasonable.(around $ 4) You gotta pay more to get a same crêpe in Japan. Oh, one more thing. They use real whipped cream, not caned.
