Very disappointed in my gel manicure here. Very sloppy, only two coats done so the color doesn’t even look even. There’s dried clear nail polish all over my finger nails, and the nail technician cut my finger and it bled the whole time! They even told me to make sure I put antibiotics on to make sure it doesn’t infect. And they had me put my bloody finger in the UV machine, which is very unsanitary.
Go to princess nails in Interbay instead!

The employees here are very nice, and have an affordable French Manicure/​pedicure combo for only $ 35. I’d definitely go here again.

All staff are welcoming and friendly. Great pedicures that last for a long time. My son also get his hair cut here and I’ve received great blowouts as well. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to this salon for over 7 years. Holly and Sandy are the best and have ALWAYS made me feel welcome, even at the height of my psoriasis flares. My skin right now is not perfect, but it’s better than it has been in the past and they are always sweet and try to give me some suggestions on handling it. They take their time to do a great job. Holly pierced my daughter’s ears and I’ll bring my younger daughter here too. Won’t ever stray from them again. I’ve learned my lesson.

Randomly came across Universal Salon when I desperately needed a pedicure and happened to be in Magnolia. I had no idea what to expect and was so pleasantly surprised. Sandy did an awesome job. I had picked out a kind of boring OPI pink and she suggested a much more exciting and flattering color from another line. I love it and can’t stop looking at my toes! The pedicure was thorough and relaxing and I never felt rushed, which I often do when getting a pedi. I don’t live on magnolia but I plan on making this my go to spot!

The staff here is incredibly friendly. I have only been here a couple times and it’s been a pleasant experience each time. They do a great job on pedicures and the price is average for Seattle. One thing I really liked was their sanitation processes, the tools were cleaned before and after each pedicure and even the little toe separators were brand new right out of the package. I had Rose on this visit and she did a great job!

The place appeared nice and clean, and the staff seemed friendly as they offered me a cup of hot tea while I waited. That was the only great part of my visit. Rose did my manicure and cut me on 4 different fingers! I don’t know what the hell she was trying to do ?!? It hurts right now just to type this review from the deep cuts that made me bleed! She said it was because my skin was dry! As if it’s my fault that SHE cut me. I will never go back to this establishment and plan on contacting the owner for a full refund. Who even knows if Rose has her license ?? How can you call yourself a nail technician and cut someone this bad!!!

This a great place only one block from our house. Very reasonable and full service salon. Rose is very attentive to us and very friendly. The price is very affordable and we love the décor inside. I would not hesitate to come back again.

Rose is incredible! My secret haircut place in Seattle! I highly recommend you do not start going here, I would not want the secret to get out! But do call for an appointment although sitting in the lobby typically works for those last minute haircuts.

We’ve been seeing Holly for the last 4 years. She does a great job, our kids love going to see her — it’s not as expensive as the «Kiddie» haircut places.

This is a great casual nail salon in Magnolia. I am not a person who religiously gets manis & pedis but I have gone to enough place and feel this place is a winner!
The décor is super fun, the women who work there are friendly, and the prices are very affordable.
My friend and I went in without an appointment early on a Saturday morning. We had to share a person but she was very accommodating by letting us sit together even when one of us was waiting our turn with her.
I have gone to other salons and felt that I could do a better job painting my nails than they do at the salon… this was not the case at Universal Salon. They did an amazing job and I was actually shocked at how inexpensive it was for a mani/​pedi combo (I think it was only $ 35…I had expected to pay $ 40 or more)
Also I hadn’t been there in probably a couple years but one of the girls actually remembered that I had been there before. It was the icing on the cake of my recent experience there.
Next time I go for a mani and pedi… I will definitely be going back to Universal Salon.

It passes the five star test– I’ll always plan my next visit back before I leave the place. This is what I like:
–Tiki hut decorations, including indoor grass roof
–Pressed tin wall décor, slate floors
–Ultra clean environment– They keep all files, etc in a little box with each client’s name on it. They must have had 200 little boxes lined up on the wall. That way, no one else’s files are getting on my nails and feet. This is a cool idea they’ve had: It’s a gross thought– someone else’s dead skin cells from their feet touching your feet?! Unbearable.
–New, really clean massage chairs
–Friendly staff
–The Mani/​Pedi was second to none. In fact– one of my nails she redid three times because it was not smooth enough for her. I was fine with it, but the manicurist just wanted smoother. I was like– it’s going to chip in a few days anyway, but she seemed kind of OCD. That somewhat sacred me, and I let her have at it.
–Price for the above service is perfect!
–OPI and ZONA (sp) polishes
–They sell skin and hair products, and are a full service salon
I simply cannot think of a thing I don’t like…
