I was so disappointed in this eye surgeon and in NW Eye Surgeons practice in general. I waited three weeks to see Dr. Victor Chin, after being referred to him by a friend. I found Dr. Chin to be patronizing and unpleasant to deal with. He was unable or unwilling to answer my questions and he denigrated them, and therefore me, by telling me that I’d need at least three years of college to understand what he was doing, so he’d explain what he found out after he finished what he was doing. I really need cataract surgery. When I tearfully explained(to a technician) how I was treated by this M.D., she indicated that she’d heard this before and she referred me to a very kind and sweet young surgeon in the same practice who had an opening just a few days later. However, this surgeon(who I don’t want to name) became threatened by my questions as well. She felt like I was questioning her competence by asking how many procedures she’d completed and when she’d done her last one(she was new to the practice and had just moved to Seattle after completing her fellowship elsewhere). She actually cancelled my scheduled surgery less than a week before it was to take place, stating that my questions made her feel like she might make a mistake during my surgery. Do not go to NW Eye Surgeons if you’re a questioning type of person! I’m now waiting a few more weeks to see another surgeon I’d found and could get in with before the holidays; the young female surgeon who cancelled my surgery actually referred me to someone else with whom I could not get an appt. for two more months. Meanwhile my cataract(s) are worsening as is my overall vision. I guess I should probably have just kept my mouth shut, and not tried to educate myself about what would be done to me, but instead have just gone with whatever these narcissistic doctors indicated might be best.
