Great French dining experience! Prices are mid range and is a very good value. The food was typical of anything found in Paris. It’s simple: the ambience, though some would say is outdated, is charming and reminiscent of a classic French bistro. The staff is mostly French speaking and, last but not least, the food is decadently classic French fare as it should be. Delicious Coq au Vin, superb Clafoutis and Tartare. Great specials on wine bottles during the week. The bar is small and intimate but pours a great martini! I try to eat here a few times a year. Prices were reasonable for the type of restaurant and Madison Valley location. I enjoy Voila! Bistrot because of its menu choices, tasteful atmosphere, and unpretentious nature. Service was more than adequate. The restaurant is celebrating 10 years in business. Voila! Bistrot owner Laurent Gabrel cooks there too. Tables book up quickly during Restaurant Week, but the pre-theater prix fixe is available year-round.

The food is good French country. Wines fine. Wait staff warm. And it’s especially nice to sit outside on a sunny day. They even serve happy hour food and wine outside. :-)

The service and food was strictly okay. Onion soup was just OK not super tasty. Definitely, tried much better French food before.

Place is rather compact and tables are close to each other, but great ambiance with candle lit table nonetheless. Happened to come here during restaurant week, so I opted for the three course dinner. I forgot what I had for the starter; obviously it didn’t impress enough to remember. I got the steak frites for entrée, and it was savory. The compound butter went surprisingly well with the tender and juicy steaks, and each fry was golden and crispy. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse, a delight in itself and a perfect end to the meal. They typically have $ 33 three course dinner on Wednesday anyway, but the restaurant week makes the deal even sweeter. Other than the set, the escargots were wonderfully prepared and delicious as well. Despite being a seemingly upscale restaurant, the prices are quite reasonable, except for corkage fee($ 25/bottle).

We went there for happy hour, and the service and food was strictly okay. Ambience was quaint, its tucked into a nice area of Madison valley and really makes for a good date place! We tried the chicken drumsticks cooked in rosemary and olive oil, and it was well cooked. The drinks were so so, the cocktails could use a bit of imagination. We did try the Columbia city bakery baguette, which was delicious and served with truffle butter! I would definitely get more of that! The fries were so so, had to season with salt/pepper. Would give it 3.5 stars if Unilocal allowed it. Cheers!

Service only review: We were unable to try the food. Stopped in at 8:40pm on a Wednesday night for dessert and drinks. The restaurant was about 1⁄3 full. After waiting for about a minute a hurried gentlemen approached and looked at his iPad and asked if we had reservations. We indicated we did not and that we were after dessert and drinks. He immediately said they were closed and walked away. Couldn’t see closing hours on the door, Unilocal indicates 10:00 on a Wednesday, and it seems as if they were in fact open since they asked if we had reservations. Only an assumption but it seems like our«small» tab for dessert and some drinks wasn’t worth the time.

Came here for dinner a while ago. It’s very cozy and intimate inside. I really liked it. I got the salmon and it was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful! My boyfriend got the Boeuf Bourguignon and was very satisfied with it. The one thing I didn’t love was how close the tables are. The table next to us was SUPER loud and it made it hard for us to even talk to each other as we could only hear them. The gnocci and burger looked really good and would love to try those sometime.

It’s great! Not particularly cheap, but great nonetheless. I went here with my parents and brother for one of the few nights we had with everyone in town. My Mom, brother and I arrived while the happy hour was still going on, and before my dad arrived. Initially I was a little surprised on how serious my mom was about getting reservations, but as the night went on I realized it was completely essential.(Aka, make reservations unless you want to sit at the bar) Over all the food was good. Definitely pricey, but the portions are healthy-size wise.

My girlfriend and I went here for a late night dinner. First off I was NOT impressed with our waitress. He had some snarky remarks about our questions on the wine. And was completely rude to my girlfriend who has a NY State ID. The waitress actually asked if she had a WA State ID instead even when she was presented with a credit card with the same same on it. I was not pleased with the service for the remainder of the night to be honest. Luckily she left us alone for the majority of our dinner. The food. Delicious. We had the cheese plate, escargot, and shared the duck confit. It was my first time having escargot and it was delicious. The duck was a little overdone to my taste but my girlfriend said she liked it fine. Would I go back? Mmmm maybe? I honestly would rather try another French spot over this one if I had to choose. Good food, dumb service.

It’s a charming little restaurant tucked away in Seattle’s Madison Valley neighborhood. The décor is fitting for the area. The restaurant is on the smaller side and the tables are crammed together. But the noise level … The night I was there I’d say it was like being in a noisy bar. It was difficult to have a conversation. The staff was knowledgeable and efficient. I ordered the daily special, Sole. It was accompanied by Yukon potatoes. Both tasted good, but I didn’t feel«wow, wonderful, savory French cuisine.» My meal was preceded by traditional French Onion soup. This was good. The flavors all came together to produce that distinctive taste. Dessert consisted of Profiteroles au chocolat. It was good. My overall experience and food quality was good and I would go there again.

I just love the Pâté here. It’s under pâté of the day so it’s different each time. I love pâté. And I’ve tried it in every possible French restaurant and these guys have it nailed. Needless to say the ambience here is simply fantastic. Small, cozy with large open airy windows. I can spend many an evening musing over a glass of wine and indulging in the opulence of. Yes, pâté! Ok, what else did get. Let’s see, the white fish that was pan fried to a golden brown and nestled on a bed of beans. GF, baby. And the hangar steak, with brown sauce and a dollop of mashed potatoes. Both, mouthwatering delish. We didn’t stop there and had to loosen a notch to make room for the fantastic dessert, a chocolate ganache. Jesus, this place is madness. Bring someone you really care about to this place and you will have an evening to remember. How oh how did I drive by for so long without visiting. This is my new fav on Madison.

Review for happy hour only! My husband and I were walking down the street, craving sushi. However, as we walked by, we saw this perfectly window-side table calling our name. We knew we had to sit there, regardless of the restaurant! Lucky for us, it turned out to be a gem. This adorable French bistro(with a quaint, private outdoor patio) was delicious! We sat at our table by the bar right next to a very large open window. The cool breeze was just what we needed for a warm Seattle summer. We decided to try a mix of different plates off of the happy hour menu. We each started with a glass of house wine off of the happy hour menu. We also decided on: — Seasonal mixed green salad — honey Dijon dressing, sweet with crisp fresh greens. It had the perfect mix of greens & dressing — Grilled romaine salad — comes with feta cheese & a lemon olive oil. I loved the flavor from the grilled romaine, nice & smokey. However, the olive oil was a bit heavy. It ended up soaking the greens too much and they became wilted. — Truffle fries — simple & yummy! Nothing fancy, just cooked in truffle oil and a pretty good size for happy hour. — Kobe burger — highlight of the meal! Came with caramelized onions and brie. Who doesn’t love that combo? — Escargot — buttery goodness. Served on top of a crostini with just the right amount of seasoning. I am a big fan of the ambience. You feel like you are in a French bistro! Dimly lit and beautifully decorated inside. The service was incredibly welcoming and I will definitely be back to try dinner.

Awesome. We had some really good duck cassoulet and the desserts were first class. Super service and really good atmosphere. Another local fave for us.

We had a lovely dinner at Voila Bistrot last night. My wife loved her asparagus soup. I enjoyed the escargot, but thought the presentation would have been better in an escargot pan with fresh baguette. We both had the duck confit special and enjoyed it thoroughly. The sauce was unusual and delicious. The crème brûlée was also excellent. We chose to go on a Sunday evening to take advantage of the half price bottles of wine, and thoroughly enjoyed choosing a wine from the most expensive on the list. When the Margaux was brought to the table the waiter asked if we wanted to chill it a bit… and when presented it was so warm that was necessary. I worry how long their wine can last under those storage conditions. Thank goodness I had reserved a table on the patio because the dining room was sweltering on such a hot day in Seattle. The patio was pleasant, but only has 6 tables.

This used to be a neighborhood favorite, but no more. They changed the menu eliminating the steak frites and frisée salad. The biggest problem is the service and the kitchen though. We went for dinner and both our entrees were completely over cooked. We sent them back and were never given an apology, asked how it was, or offered any reduction on our bill. They screwed up and basically didn’t care. Won’t be back. With LUC and Red Cow nearby I will get my French food elsewhere. Au revoir, Voilà.

The chef knows what he is doing in this restaurant. I love the open environment! It reminds me of France. Most staff here speaks French. He foods are delicious! I had the onion soup, black cod, and escargots. My French friend told me they have one of the best onion soup! It’s a must try. I think all there dishes are fabulous! From seasoning and how the dish was prepared.

I had escargot here for the first time, and it wasn’t traumatizing. Although I will never eat escargot ever again, I have to say it was very good here. I didn’t have to pick it out of a shell, and it was covered in very tasty sauce on toast. The four of us shared our entrees — kobe beef burger, fish stew(special), cassoulet(special), and gnocchi with bacon cream sauce. My favorite was probably the gnocchi dish — it had the best flavor. The fish stew was pretty bland and the kobe beef burger was just OK. The duck confit in the cassoulet was very good and the bean stew was very flavorful. Service was just OK, it took a long while for them to take our order and bring us our drinks.

This was our anniversary dinner. It was buzzing when we arrived, perhaps at 8-ish on a Friday night, and it still had a few tables alive going by the time we left, perhaps at 9:30 or 10. The service was great. They gave us our space when they saw we were discussing matters of great importance, refilled our water and wine glasses with discretion and answered our questions about the menu with detail and attention. I had the Salmon and it was really well made. The week before, at another fancy restaurant, in another country, I’d seen some really good salmon butchered. Voila did not disappoint and it was a really good dish. The wife had the Tuna special and liked it. The dessert, unfortunately was a let-down. The wife decided, and knowing that I am not the biggest fan of chocolate, got the bread pudding. That was our undoing :-). The bread pudding was not the greatest, though I couldn’t tell you what was wrong with it. Overall, Voila, made for a most excellent anniversary dinner. Kudos and we shall be back!
