Apparently this place is closed — I am SOOOOOOO sad. We actually never got a chance to eat here(only giving it four stars so as not to affect their 3.5 star rating too much) — The one time we made it to the area, we were unable to find this place so ended up going to one of the other pizza places. I’m still on the lookout for a good deep dish pizza here in the Tacoma/Seattle area — I’m from the midwest and LOVE Chicago pizza so I’m a tough one to please, but I’ll get there! :)

Having lived in Seattle for almost two years, I can’t attest to the«Seattle Staple» status of WPH but I for one thought that it was not only the best pizza in Wallingford but one of the top 3 of all Seattle. The crusts were amazing, the ingredients superb, and the novelty of the Dome Pizzas really set it apart from all other Pizzerias. All be it the service was not always the fastest, you really did feel like you were in a house, with a variety of tables and rooms and the original kitchen being the actual kitchen. If you haven’t noticed, I’m speaking in past tense because this week I drove there to eat some delicious pizza with my visiting family and found out it was CLOSED. The amazing blue house snuggled between the movie theater will now become some sort of Octopus Bar, whatever that means. I’m sure it’ll be some trendy little place that I’ll end up visiting but here is one last rating for the Wallingford Pizza House. Drinks — 3.5 Food — 5 Atmosphere — 4.5

After a little over a year in Seattle and having come to the conclusion that there was no great pizza to be had in this city, we tried Wallingford Pizza House on the recommendation of a friend. The deep dish is delicious! It’s also a cute, cozy little place. They were happy to take our pizza order ahead of time over the phone in order to shorten the wait once we got there since deep dish takes a long time to bake. Delicious pizza and a very exciting find!

I ate here before it’s a 3.5 star pizza, today I took all the family to their location ordered a pizza and was told to wait for 30 minutes. Once return they told me that they FORGOT the make my pizza… off course they offered me to wait for another 30 minutes… With all the respect to local business noone in Pizza Hut or in Dominos ever forget to make my order. Any way, I we’ll have my pizza else where!

Only reason I give it three stars was they were very understaffed when I visited and the service took forever. The pizza, however, was amazing! Great little house turned into a pizza joint, lots of character here. If they had two more people working to keep up this would have been a 5 star review.

Honestly this experience was mediocre at best. Average food, poor service. They were out of BBQ chicken wings so we ended up having the spicy wings which were pretty boring and flavorless. We then tried the deep dish«Full On» and«Veggy» both of which were just plain OK. There were enough toppings and cheese but it lacked sauce and seasoning. There was nothing«wow» about them that I would want to come back for. As a pizza/pie it was fine but not even close to the real«Chicago» deal. The service was very slow and we had to keep looking around for someone to come by the table ad check if we needed anything and even ended up waiting 15 minutes just to find someone to get us a box and the check. It was fine to try this once but I don’t see myself going back here anytime soon.

Great salad and pizza! The downside was that the server had BO. I would still go back and recommend.

Wallingford Pizza House is in fact a house, an adorable little house full of pizza. That cozy friendly dinner-at-friend’s-house feeling is why I love this place so much. Perfect spot for dinner before a movie at the Guild 45th, next door. Very affordable, with classic pizza joint style salads and sides for under $ 10. A small deep dish pizza, for about $ 12 – 14, has a biscuit style crust and is generously sauced. Toppings are more homestyle than«gourmet», but good quality and variety. A small deep dish pizza is enough for two people to share. A good selection of beer is available.

My visit to Wallingford Pizza House was long overdo. I heard they did deep dish pizza so I was intent on trying it. Yes, I have been to Chicago and experienced the delight that is authentic deep dish pizza. Did I know this pizza was going to be different? Yes, but I pride myself on giving an establishment a chance. I am not one of those assholes that thinks because a deep dish pizza is not from Chicago it will suck. Sure, it will be different but a good pizza is a good pizza no matter how you slice it. However, Wallingford Pizza House wasn’t just a different kind of pizza, it was a tasteless mess. The name of the pizza escapes me but it was a deep dish with jalapenos, pineapple, onions, Monterrey jack cheese, and red sauce. In theory it sounded delightful but in practice it was way off. The sauce was unbelievably bland. There was no flavor to it at all. Talk about being shocked! I think I’ve gotten better sauce on a $ 1 Tostino’s frozen pizza. The jalapeño and onions were plentiful but the pineapple and cheese were sparse. Worst of all the pizza was runny. You pick up a slice from the pan and a pool of water remained. The saving grace was the crust: soft, chewy, and thick. One minor success at least. We each forced two slices down, covering them with parmesan, basil, and crushed red pepper to give it some kind of appeal, and boxed the remaining four. For a bill of $ 32 I wasn’t going to waste half a pie. I took two slices to work the next day for lunch. After dousing them with ranch dressing and more cheese they were acceptable but still, really, no better. I was only able to get a slice and a half down before I threw the half eaten slice and the two more in the fridge away. Despite the pizza being an utter disaster, our waiter was very cordial and there was a small but admirable beer selection. The menu consisted of more than just deep dish pizza. You could order thin crust pizza, pasta, salads, and desserts. I was very excited to try the Wallingford Pizza House but the pizza fell short. I won’t go so far to say I will never be a patron again but I will not order the deep dish pizza a second time.

Are you looking for a place for a PARTY? Look no farther. Wallingford Pizza House(WPH) will bend over backward to make your special event for 45 people or less memorable! My partner and I are from Chicago and 27 years ago spent memorable evenings at Cub games and«real» pizza. For her 50th birthday, I was looking for a lunch place to recreate at least the food aspect of those days. I was disappointed when I heard that the WPH only opened at 4 pm as we had other plans that evening. Imagine my amazement when the owner said they would open 4 hours early JUSTFORUS! So I invited friends and family, brought in cake and ice cream, banners and balloons and we had the best beer and pizza in town! No franchise would have or could have done that! Chris waited on everyone quickly and made sure the pre-ordered pizzas came out hot, while others could order anything on the menu. The music was quite enough to talk above. Micheal kept the dishes clean so that when they opened, they were ready. I can’t say enough about the owner, Michael, who made this decision without charging me extra money. Yes, parking is a pain, but there is street parking and a bus line down 45th and I always encourage carpooling. Too many independent theaters and restaurants are closing because we are choosing to eat«cheap pizza» or order in. Let’s save these establishments! Get your friends together and meet at Wallingford Pizza House for your next celebration, meeting, or game night. Better yet, take in a movie next door and have a pizza afterwards!

I went here the other day for dinner with friends. The Wallingford Pizza House is actually in a house turned into a restaurant. The service is good. The food is excellent. I would recommend the Peppergochini. It is pepperoni, goat cheese and all sorts of tasty things. A single dome is enough to make you full. Go check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

This place has been something of a local institution for quite a while, if you count its days as My Brother’s Pizza. It’s kind of neat to have a house converted into a pizza parlor in the first place, but then to wrap a movie theater’s two auditoriums around it just makes it even better. It’s not a recipe for great access to free parking, as it turns out, but that’s alright. There’s a little labyrinth of stairs indoors and out on your way in, and then there’s a rather more extensive labyrinth of rooms and mini-hallways comprising the dining area. The staff is cheerful, pleasant, and charming. What the staff is not, particularly, is quick with the return visits. Several of us came in for a birthday dinner and, while it was nice of them to set several tables together for all of us, it would have been nicer still to have them come back and check on us a little more often. It was busy, and we were all content to chat away, so it’s alright, but I’m not sure if it’s always like this – the other tables nearby seemed to be getting similar treatment. The star here is the polyamorous approach to pizza. They’re simultaneously maintaining deep and fruitful relationships with thin crust, chicago style, stuffed-crust, and«dome» style pies. At our end of the table we split the Full-On, which is kind of the meat lover’s everything pie, and we had it chicago style. They manage to keep the crust from getting soggy; there’s a bit of crunch, or at least chew, to the bottom and the edge. The toppings are kind of excessive, though. You wouldn’t even think of picking up a slice of this stuff. Even eating it with a knife and fork tends to push things all over your plate when you try to cut off a bite. It’s tasty, but it’s unspectacular other than the crust – just the usual salty canned toppings. There was a chicken caesar to start, which was fine. A little on the watery side(lettuce) and also on the goopy side(a little overdressed). Bottom line? This place still holds up well as a natural companion to seeing a movie next door. You’ll have a good time putting the two together. But it’s not really worth going out of your way for.

Seriously the BEST pizza in all of Seattle! I’m normally only a fan of thin crust with little sauce, but the WPH has turned me into a true lover of their deep dish, saucy, magnificent creations! My husband and I went there last night for a date night & the service is always excellent & the food is delicious. My absolute favorite is the Pepper Goatchini pizza… yum! It’s a perfect place for a date night: go get some great pizza & then head next door to the little movie theatre :)

I love Wallingford Pizza House. My boyfriend and I have been a few times now and enjoy it every time. Last night we has the cheesy garlic bread and dinner salad to start, and followed up with the deep dish Salamigoachini(salami, goat cheese, pepperchini) pie. They make all their own dressings for their salads which are tasty. The garlic bread was pretty good, but you come here for their Chicago style deep dish. My boyfriend grew up going to Chicago to visit family, and loves this place. The crust rocks, sauce rules. They also always have a good variety of local beers on tap. Plaster this house with Chicago photos and art and it makes for a fun little date night. The server was on top of it, and the owner is a really nice guy who is often the weeknight server. I could see service being a little«slow» like some people describe, but you aren’t getting thin crust here and my pie was baked perfectly.

My friend and I came here to use the Scoutmob deal and because we both love Chicago style pizza. We shared a medium artichoke and sun-dried tomato deep dish pizza and ordered a beer and house Merlot. Now I don’t know if it’s just because it was my first Chicago-style pizza but I’m still a sucker for Delfino’s the most. This, however, was pretty good. I really like that they have so many flavors and do an individual-sized pizza too since you can’t really do half/half pizza’s for deep dish. They also offer non deep dish if you don’t like that. I thought the crust was a little too chewy, but otherwise, yummy. The feel of this place is kinda strange. It’s all dark wood, quiet and it isn’t trendy like the other restaurants in Wallingford. However, the service is great. The staff seems very nice and I would def. come back!

Best deep dish pizza in the Seattle! It’s so good, I can’t bring myself to order anything else. I think what makes this pizza so special and stand out from the rest is the fact that they use cornmeal instead of flour and that they use fresh ingredients and red wine in their marinara sauce. I don’t understand why anyone would ever make a marinara sauce without red wine. It tastes so much better and its way more authentic! p. s. the pizza is fantastic leftover/cold. the crust tastes the exact same as when it first was made. :) Now many people would say that $ 20 for a 8 slice pizza is expensive, and I would normally agree, but considering that I can eat just one slice and feel full, cost isn’t an issue. The only drawback to this place is that the ambiance is kinda strange… it’s super quiet! There’s a TV on the wall, but the volume is muted. It looks kid and family friendly, but since it’s so quiet inside I feel awkward talking… as if everyone is going to hear my conversation. I think the owner needs to turn the TV to ESPN, turn up the volume to add a little life to this place. Then I would come in and eat more often. I’m sure others would too.

Had I been writing this five years ago, I would have called it my favorite pizza in Seattle, so when my boyfriend suggest we go there, I was really looking forward to it. I am really disappointed in this place now. I hate to see one of my favorite places turn into something that I feel generous giving two stars to. The service — AWFUL. There were two other tables with people when we got there: the first had a guy eating alone and the second had a man and his infant daughter, so the place was pretty empty. The server(the one with dark, curly hair) was wearing some faded t-shirt and she took us to our table. She took forever to come get our order, give us the bill, get us a box – we were literally sitting and just waiting. The food — We ordered garlic cheese bread(which had hardly any cheese and was really dried out) and a thin crust pizza. I didn’t like the dough at all. It was really herb-y or something and just tasted kinda icky. The sauce was really spicy and gross. I was so hungry and I hardly ate of it. I would have had them just toss the rest, but my boyfriend(the human garbage disposal) took it to work the next day. Words cannot describe how frustrating this experience was since I used to love this place so much. Ugh, heart wrenching.

I was here Saturday night with a couple of my girl friends. We ordered a large Green pizza and it was really good! It was my first pizza with no sauce. The cheese was thick and it made everything taste even better. We chose to go with the deep dish. It was a hearty pizza with a lot of flavor. The atmosphere was nice too. It’s a fairly small spot but it’s worth it!

We were craving pizza and live in the neighborhood, so thought we would check this place out. Food: we tried the deep dish pizza custom made with our own choice of toppings. I wouldn’t say we were in Chicago by any means, but it was good. Maybe the best deep dish in Seattle as other have suggested, but I am not running back. I thought prices were high, but portion sizes were decent. Drink: good selection of beer and wine. Customer service was good. Water glasses were refilled. No complaints. Ambiance: it was pretty empty when I was there, although it was in between the lunch and dinner hours. Very simple décor. Overall, it was a good place to grab some pizza, but I would probably consider other options in the future.

With my first bite of the garlic-chicken deep dish, I couldn’t tell if I was tasting the pizza or if I was throwing up into my mouth. In all honesty, the latter option would’ve been preferable to the dreadful pre-packaged, pre-flavored commercial chicken by-product they tried to pass off as something other than medium-grade dog food. I’m floored that a restaurant would send something like that out. And the crust, which was over-baked, did nothing to salvage this sad pie. However, the«famous» spinach deep dish was much, much better. As much as a I loathe a restaurant’s self-aggrandizing use of hyperbole, this was definitely a well-balanced pizza — the pleasant astringency of the spinach paired nicely with the silky cheese and fragrant sauce. The crust was pretty flat flavor-wise, lacking that subtle unctuous spark I generally like to see in a Chicago, but it was cooked to a crisped perfection. Also, they need a ‘bigger sign’ out front, according to a friend who was with me. Seeing as how he drove past the place twice w/o noticing it, and how I would’ve walked past if the people in front of me didn’t turn in, I’m going to have to agree. Better yet, just take the small sign as a sign and keep walking.
