They have a fancy bathroom… wait, that isn’t what you’re looking for in a sushi joint? When I go to Wasabi I almost exclusively sit in the bar area. Because happy hour keeps going in the bar when it ends in the restaurant(though it may not consistently right now, it always seems to be changing) I tend to take friends here on week nights for some sake and edamame while we come up with a plan of attack. To be totally clear, I come here for a deal. I don’t eat the regular priced menu here and I typically don’t order beyond the happy hour specials because I can’t afford to(at least, not as often as I WANT to eat sushi) and I’m usually more than happy to gorge myself on the more inexpensive stuff. It isn’t that I don’t appreciate«the good stuff»(oh I do) I just go elsewhere for that –and that isn’t to say that Wasabi isn’t «good». It simply means that there is a quality level I can get at Wasabi that is higher during happy hour than what I can get at other places with competitive pricing. Sometimes they’ll have a set number of rolls that are at a discounted price for happy hour and other times they’ll have a long list of rolls and appetizers that you can«pick two» or «pick three» for a set price(usually $ 12 – 14). For me this is the sweet spot, and if you consider their house hot sake is usually only a couple dollars a pop it becomes an easy way to introduce people who’ve never had sushi before to sushi. My only real complaint with this situation is that many of the rolls(especially the tempura fried rolls) have so much going on that they are way too big to fit in my mouth. The last thing I want when I’m out is to look like an idiot trying to chew my way through a roll because I can’t eat it in one bite, and some of the rolls here have bordered on choke-worthy sizes. At any rate, decent value for a decent quality if you go at the right time. –And they have a nice bathroom.

The Sushi was really tasty! Can’t say enough about the service. Far Eastside Martini was so unique, and well made we ordered a few. Ordered the Avocado kamikaze tempura and Sashimi taco appetizer both were outstanding. There was a great range from spicy to mild which accommodated everyone.

visitor to Park Italian Gourmet was sharing a meal with a pal and called the hero skimpy, saying it lacked«complexity.» The reviewer gave the deli just one star, the lowest rating. Macri shot back, «I haven’t shared a sandwich with anyone since I was maybe 6 years old.»

Blah… This place is overpriced, cheap ingredients, and poor quality. The spicy tuna roll was 1% tuna and 99% onions and saracha sauce and who knows what else… Yuck!!! Wait staff was nice but have too many tables… Casey from Yakima was kind and naïve all at once. The owners need to «totally» rethink their approach to sushi, quality, and what those mean//

Loved the location and interior design. The server wouldn’t work with us and wouldn’t let us choose from the happy hour menu a few minutes early. Shame! The noise level was a tad bit high, if you want a nice quiet date, this isn’t the place to go

This place was the first place to start serving the fancy sushi rolls & it still lives up to the hype after all these years! You have to sit at the sushi bare to fully experience the yumminess. I would eat there everyday if I could!

I’m giving a higher score since the service here was very friendly and very accommodating, though slightly slower than other places. Still, the waiter was more than happy to split checks individually for the large group I was in. Given that I’m allergic to crab(no other seafood), I couldn’t touch 80% of the sushi rolls they have since they use real snow crab. Anyhow, I got the ones without crab and still enjoyed my experience. This place wouldn’t be my go-to spot given allergies and higher cost, but would be an nice place to bring friends to on occasion!

I’ve been going to Wasabi for years. It’s a long time favorite amongst my group of friends. They have one of the best happy hour deals in town! The manager is quite nice, and often will drop by with desserts or drink samples for us to try if I come with a larger party. I know they are often compared to Japonessa. I would say Japonessa has a better menu for rolls, but Wasabi’s desserts cannot be beat. Also, it’s a lot less crowded and has a better atmosphere for lounging and talking with friends. Recommended items: Barbie roll Ka-me-ha-me-ha roll Mango Tango Calamari Green Tea Tempura Ice Cream **Spicy Crab Soup(haven’t had, but heard a lot of great things about it!) Not recommended: Fuji Apple 10 Sake Tini — sickeningly sweet, with bitter artificial flavor.

First of all, the service was very attentive and engaging from greeting to departure. It was 5 star. Second, Im a huge fan of Saba. Simply stated, I’m a Saba snob. Tuna is often called the chicken of the sea. Well, Mackerel is the pork of the sea. WASABIHASPERFECTEDSABA! Most sushi chefs prefer a light marinate of rice vinegar which seems to extract a small amount of fish oil and ever so slightly dulls the natural fish flavor which is more pronounce than other less oily salt water fish. Wasabi does things different. I was informed before ordering that they do a light sear and due to the fact that I was with a large party at the time; I missed the rest of the description. When it arrived it looked like a standard Saba presentation. How did it taste? SUBLIME! SUBLIME! SUBLIME! This is hands down the most flavorful Saba ever! Perfect combination of fresh natural ocean fishy and decadent oiliness. It was the pork belly of the sea! Happy hour is a fantastic deal and there is something for everyone.

Amazing! I was a little worried that the huge variety on their menu would mean the rolls wouldn’t come out as fresh or paid much attention to detail. Every roll was fantastic. I highly recommend the Jalapeño Papa, Ka-me-ha-me-ha, and the good ol’ Spicy Tuna. Service was great, drinks were good, and we left very satisfied. Could we also take a minute to talk about their bathrooms? It was so dark in there, that I wasn’t sure if I was walking into a stall or a broom closet. I couldn’t even see myself in the mirror! I felt like I was in a celebrity bathroom.

Sleek and modern place. Sushi bar well lit, rest of restaurant is dim. Complimentary edamame while you order. Philly roll: everything just melts in your mouth like ice cream on a hot summer day. The cucumber gives a nice finishing crunch. Kamehameha roll: sweeter than expected and didn’t really taste the«wasabi aoili». Everything just melted like butter and was so satisfying. Not salty at all and for those who love sweeter sushi rolls. Pretty much drenched in sauce and didn’t really need a soy sauce dip. Green tea tiramisu: hands down the best tiramisu I’ve had! The cake portion isn’t soggy at all and is like a bread consistency. The frosting portion was very light and creamy and just the right taste of green tea. SOGOOD! Coca Cola: something about the Coke was really delicious and satisfying. Cane sugar? Definitely didn’t taste like Coke from a drink dispenser.

This is the best ‘American’ style sushi place I have visited in Seattle. The happy hour is one of the best in town and the sushi selection is out of this world. We went with a party of seven around 7 p.m. and had no problem getting a place despite the busy hustle and bustle. The service was impeccable and the server was efficient in her timing yet never hovered over our table. I am unsure of what roll I had exactly but I know it was deep fired and delicious. Not a single one of us complained about the meal/service, which is rare in these days, and everyone thought it was great. The portions are huge and make up for the high price of today’s sushi restaurants. I have no problem paying $ 15-$ 20 a roll but those rolls better be full-meal size, unlike many other sushi restaurants which act as if putting smaller portions means it’s more authentic. I for one believe the style of sushi most people enjoy here in the U.S. is unlike anything in Japan, so for me I am not looking for authentic I am looking for delicious and creative. This sushi spot fusses together the American world of sushi and a fun atmosphere in a formal setting. Well done Wasabi I think you guys have this thing figured out. See you soon.

This is the place you go to when you realize they’re out of seats at Shiro’s. Just kidding. It is right down the street from Shiro’s, but Wasabi is a pretty great place in itself. The atmosphere is very classy and hip, and I love décor. The food here was actually quite good. The black cod is really delicious, but hands down the best part of dinner(every single time I’d been there) would have to be the green tea tiramisu. It’s amazing and a must try when you come! Fair warning, the rum is a little on the stronger side.

Just went there for the first time tonight. We walked in and if you ask me the hostess was kind of a b. I think when you’re in customer service or especially when you’re the first face someone sees in an establishment you should smile. :) see not that hard. She also wasn’t very helpfil when we asked how long for a table so we opted for the open bar seating. It was busy but not super packed or anything. Besides the initial cold front, we really liked the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and the food was great as were both the bartenders so this place still gets a solid 4 stars. We’d go back. The tuna poki was amazing and other than the salad that came with the calamari having slightly too much dressing for my tastes, it was good. We got the rock n roll and the don’t say you love me rolls as well as the seafood yakiramen. Ramen was okay but the rolls were good. Ginger raba and toyko mules were good. We had asked for edamame which isn’t listed on their menu and the bartender told us they had it but we never got it nor were we charged for it. We were stuffed though so we didn’t ask about it again. All in all a great choice for sushi on a Saturday night at a fair price. Place was clean and bright service was quick and bartenders were attentive.

Didn’t expect this place to be as cute and hip as it was. Beautiful modern theme. Reminds me of a more soft glowed Japonessa and less crowded. We had the sweetest and most attentive waiter. He noticed halfway through the meal that we had gifts and asked if it was someone’s birthday. We were celebrating both of ours so at the end we were surprised with two HUGE free desserts. One matcha tirimisu(it was ok) and a crème brûlée with jam at the bottom(so bomb!) The ka-me-ka-me-ha roll with salmon on top was DELICIOUS. The inglorious bastard wasn’t. It was a deep fried something with some jalapeño. Meh. The black cod was a showstopper of course. This stuff is either cooked REALLYWELL or it’s ruined. My friend had never tried it before and now she’s a fan for life. So so delicious. We also ordered the seafood and pork ramen. I’ve had better ramen and I’ve had better seafood. But to be fair this place is fusion and we know it. Overall had a really wonderful experience. Kushibar isn’t next door with Japanese izakaya and drinks so that’ll be my next spot. Belltown is really improving in terms of culinary spots and nightlife.

Would definitely recommend this place. I would definitely will be back and hope the service, food, thickness of the sashimi at least stays same or increases. Was skeptical at first after seeing so many positive reviews on Unilocal but convinced today. Ordered Today’s Chef’s small sashimi plate, king crab soup, Volcano roll, calamari salad, Saporo beer, House Sauvignon Blanc — total $ 105 and change + $ 20TIP. Worth every cent and would come back and order big or medium portion of the sashimi ;)

Their service never disappoints. The greeting at the door is always on point and the waiters/waitresses too They’re very attentive. They check up on us so well that our water cups never goes empty. If you’re coming in a big group, it’s always best to make a reservation! They are able to split our bills too! My favorite roll is their Seattle tempura roll! I’d reccomend coming for happy hour. It is now 2 rolls for $ 10, still a very great deal! The food does fill you up and has enough flavor!

Wasabi has such a sophisticated, yet unpretentious vibe. Little ol’ me felt cooler just by being inside, haha. The soft lights, high ceilings, and large panel windows peering out to the dark rain-drenched streets of Seattle gives the space an extra cozy feel by comparison to the outdoors. With ample seating and friendly waitresses and bar waiters, we were well taken care of. Happy hour is between 4−6pm; select rolls and sets are served at a reduced price. There are late night happy hours, in addition, with hours of 9pm-11:30pm(Sun-Thurs) and 10pm-12:30am(Fri-Sat). When my friends and I dropped in, we opted for the long bar table and started with a round of hot sake($ 4 large, $ 3 small). I ordered nigiri set B($ 10-$ 12, can’t remember), which contained tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, albacore, and sockeye salmon. I enjoyed it a lot, although it was on the smaller side. I would recommend coming less hungry when arriving for happy hour, or count on ordering two plates! Let me tell you, hot sake and cold sushi on a cold Seattle day is wonderous! I will definitely be back for more before the winter is over.

GREAT sushi restaurant thats open late. Usually with Sushi restaurants that are open late you don’t get quality however, this place is definitely the opposite. Very nice setting and décor, delicious sushi rolls where you can taste the freshness of the sushi. Delicious drinks! Kasey or casey was our waiter and he was also very nice! He recommended some great rolls and also was amazing on service.

Great sushi at a really nice casual fine dining restaurant. The location is in a busy part of Belltown with many other great place right around to check out too. Wasabi bistro is modern, elegant, and upscale with a great ambience for drinking and hanging out. The interior décor has resemblances of the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas to me. A style of modern decadence. The food taste and quality is on par with their presentation. It is fairly decent portion sizes and great specialty sushi rolls. They also have other items in the kitchen that are pretty delicious as well that are more fusion with some Korean influences. My all time favorite is getting to the dessert. The two I always struggle between are the green tea tiramisu and the green tea fried ice cream. I go back and forth and alternate with each visit. Strongly recommend this place to sushi lovers especially those looking for a cool hang out to have drinks with meal.

Wasabi Bistro was a successful visit, I’m not disappointed at all. In fact, it was the shit. I’ve had one of the best rolls of my life. I can’t call myself a real time sushi consumer because I don’t eat seafood which eliminates about 90% of whatever I can order whenever we go to a sushi joint. Sad, but I still love the concept of popping these cute little pieces of rice wrapped in seaweed goodness into my mouth. My stomach thanks Wasabi even more for feeding it delicious food. I went during happy hour which is 4−6pm daily and late night happy hour is Sun-Thurs 9 – 11:30pm and Fri/Sat 10 – 11:30pm. On Mondays, there is a super happy hour menu if you sit at the bar. This definitely stands out as a sushi place, there are so many unique and creative rolls! It has more than just your standard California roll which by the way, this is the few places that serve it with real crab. Again, I don’t eat seafood so it has always been difficult with variety that I’m able to obtain, most of the time, it’s just a simple tofu roll or avocado roll that I have to choose from. The selection is quite amazing here, I ordered a veggie roll and a spicy pork roll which the spicy pork roll is incredible; crispy pork meat with jalapenos drizzled in spicy sauce. Yes please. I also saw a pretty wide vegetarian menu, but those items aren’t on happy hour, I’ll eventually try it out. I’ve heard wonders about the green tea tiramisu dessert, but those 2 rolls plus miso soup got me full and satisfied especially that pork roll that is too big to fit in my mouth with just one bite. I’m a happy camper with my late night meal.

I was happy to come upon Wasabi Bistro while wandering about looking for sushi. Sounds odd but pretty normal for me. They had room in the back of the restaurant next to a birthday party. Not that I really care, it just always seems odd to sit people next to a group when there are a few other options that are a bit more conducive. The server was a bit rushed though pleasant, I ordered pork potstickers, salmon, tuna, yellowtail and escolar all wonderful with a slight brush of house teriyaki(I don’t ever have that but it was light enough no need for soy sauce), the white rabbit roll was great sans the blueberry sauce on the plate, too sweet. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were also very tasty. This was a good experience overall, not sure it would be my first choice though with a few concerted efforts with service and overall hospitality this will be a great place.

HH4−7pm with great specials. I would give it a 3 but my dining companion said it was worth a 4 or more and they do have a great HH sooo 4 stars it is. First night in Seattle we were wandering around looking for a place to stop in for some happy hour f/b specials. Fresh fish and big happy hour portions so no complaints. The sashemi plate was the best bang for your buck. The rolls were okay, nothing blew me away, although the bf would prob give the Seattle roll 5⁄5. The bulgogi sliders were amazing. The vibe is pretty modern/trendy so the ambiance is on the fancy side. We were dressed really casual and most of the other patrons were decked.
