My experiences here have been inconsistent in regards to customer service. I feel either completely ignored or waited on by staff. I would consider coming back here.

In I came on a Saturday afternoon, and sat at the bar, offered a drink within a few minutes. Then ordered. The Apple French toast was really sweet, more like a dessert(think runny apple cobbler) than a semi hearty brunch menu choice. I couldn’t tell if the bread was soggy or just undercooked. I wouldn’t get it again. After I finished my food, the plate sat there… Servers walked by numerous times and didn’t bother to pick it up or ask me anything. After a several minutes of waiting, I was curious how long it would take and so I just kept reading an interesting article on my phone until my take out Mac&cheese came, which was creamy, but little overcooked. Overall I knew the food wanted to be better like I expected, but taste and texture just not enough for me. And the inattentive service didn’t help. After a long pause after all my food had been delivered. Then I was asked if I was done and bill came. There are other places in the area, doubfutly return/

The Astral Mac and Cheese is probably the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Ridiculous. The food here is fantastic. The drinks are top notch. The atmosphere is great.

This place is absolutely kitchy and fun. The service is nice, the couches are comfy, I defiantly like to land here on occasion to enjoy the fun feel(50’s diner meets bowling alley in the 70’s? Maybe?). BUT when it comes to the drinks and food… well the wine pours are very generous, but he wine is mediocre at best(I hear it’s better to get beer) and the food. Ah the food. to me it’s pretty standard greasy flavorless bar food. Meh… it’s not bad but it’s not good either. So If I could hang out here with my own food and wine I’d love it.

Tried the famous Mac and cheese but wasn’t too pleased. It seems like most people like it judging from the reviews, but it was too bland for us. Not enough salty cheesy taste. I just had Trader Joe’s frozen Mac and cheese and it was actually better. The grilled chicken burger was alright.

Just left there a few hours ago. I went with a few friends and sat down. We were completely ignored. Other people sat down after us and were promptly served. It didn’t help that my friends were African American and ignored. I never have been ignored before when I’ve been with any other race or ethnicity. Coincidence? Possibly. We ended up at Talarico’s down the street and had a lovely time.

Mac and Cheese is REALLY good though i suggest splitting it as it’s very dense. If you like diner food, you find this place to hit the spot.

Hey Unilocalers, you know when find a place and you realize your Unilocal reviews are going to diminish because you’re going to keep coming back… well I’ve found that place. The staff is friendly, prices are good and the food is great.

Trying something different. The place I love it. Its different and have different atmosphere. We order nachos and there small portion can feed more than 3 ppl. Then we had the mom meatloaf and reubeun sandwich. All the portion is big and always have leftover. Anyway. I’m giving a 3 star coz its not a lot of flavor. It doesn’t give me the wow factor. But its a good place to have large party and somewhere to hang out with.

West 5 was a joy. Spunky and great décor. Happy hour was bomb with a delicious mai tai that was seriously strong. Our server was too awesome for words. The boyfriend and I had spent all day scouring the Junction for new apartments and were distractedly still discussing floorplans and applications when she graciously dropped by. She was infinitely patient with us, provided the best recommendations and made our whole experience absolutely fantastic. I also had my first chili cheese dog(ever!) here and it was delicious. Happy hour has fantastic offerings and the food is hot, warm and delicious. I am so in love, yay.

This is my third time here and I love it. The service is fantastic. The drinks are great. Food is bomb. I mean, I’ve only had the BLT so far, but it’s bacon, buttery, crispy goodness. I will say though, I really love this place because of the crowd. It’s pretty laid back and not a big frat party of a bar. I wouldn’t recommend it for a big night out with the 20-some girls, but it’s gentle on my hangover and good for a chill night.

The bar tender named Sarah, USEDHERFINGERS to add garnish to EVERYSINGLEDRINK I saw her make. She was touching money and the bar top and DIDNOT wash her hands. Needless to say I didn’t tip her. I had better not get sick. Management needs to investigate this and get back to me, or I WILL contact the health board. Well, no one has gotten back to me. I find it disgusting that you don’t care to make your customers happy. It is really too bad because I love your food and drinks. All your other staff is amazing. Im really upset that you would just let this go unchecked. I guess I will just have to escalate this… So. I contacted the BBB and reported this incident hoping to get some kind of call or anything from the west 5. So far the only thing i have gotten is harassment from a person who claims to be a server at this horrible place who refuses to give his name. His user name is Bobby W(bobbywrong). Seriously folks. If you have any kind of problem with this place, you’re better off just never returning. The West 5 has proven their juvenile attitude regarding complaints. Avoid the hassle and contaminated food and GOSOMEWHEREELSE. What a nightmare…

I don’t make it to West Seattle too often, so I didn’t really know what I was missing in West 5, super good upscale diner food in a pretty cool retro hipster space. The menu was kind of all over the place with a few veggie options; I went with the grilled cheese, which was FRABULOUS and even better when dunked into the unsuspecting cup of yummy tomato soup that my girlfriend ordered. For drinking purposes, I had a cocktail called The Last Word, an elegant looking gin drink that also had chartreuse liqueur in it… holy mackerel. I could have drowned in it and died happy. I figured the first one must have been a fluke so I ordered a second one and lo and behold it was just as good, and then I was drunk and I still am. Thank god for autocorrect or this review would just say«Blaaerhwhridaasgh» Yay West 5!

I was so excited to go meet a friend at West 5 last weekend. I’ve been hearing about how great this place is for years and finally here is my excuse/chanceto go. Yay! The décor and ambience are awesome! 50’s kitch + listening to the Misfits? This is my jam, completely. Things were so great! Well… until we expected more service from the surly bartender than our first drink during happy hour. We practically had to set off a flare gun to get his attention to order snacks, much less another round of cocktails. It literally seemed like he was deliberately ignoring us. At one point we had to ask a server who dropped off our snacks(which were delicious, but couldn’t make up for this service debacle) could she please ask the bartender to pay attention to us? He did, and we were treated to an awkward and uncomfortable exchange which I felt probably doomed us for the rest of the night. I’ve experienced kinder and more attentive service at establishments where«crappy service» was part of the offering. I’d go back again for sure if it wasn’t for that experience, but based on that level of service… No thanks. West 5 ownership, please listen. There is no shortage of really great bars in Seattle; the stand-out ones don’t alienate customers with poor service and treatment.

After a long hot day in the sun. This was the only place basically open at 11 in west Seattle. The restaurant I do say was really nice I like the whole feel of it and it was set up nicely. Loved the whole theme of it. And the bar was stocked and super nice. Can’t really say the same about the food though. As a starter we ordered artichoke dip. And it was ehh wasn’t super good and wasn’t super bad. I’ve had better. So time to come and order the food we got the grilled chicken and avocado burger the sides are kind of odd(they don’t have a fryer so no fries)=. Not really many ways to mess up a chicken burger. But it just was not good at all the best part about that burger was the avocado. And the side I got with it was potato salad. An honestly that was the WROST potato salad I’ve ever tasted in my life. It was bitter tasting and just overall not good. Basically spent 15 dollars to drink water. Loved the waiter though he was hilarious.

Now my favorite lounge and bar in West Seattle. Great staff and service(friendly and direct, a touch hipster without pretentiousness), and amazing drink service. This was a great start for a Sunday Funday exploring West Seattle and next time I’ll need to try the brunch options as well. Quick tip: sit in the bar. There always seemed to be a healthy supply of chatty and open-minded patrons wanting to talk about anything, especially food and drink culture in Seattle.

I love every last little bit of this place! Let’s start with the atmosphere and feel. It’s got a bowling alley décor, complete with an old scorer’s table as the host stand. How can you not love that? The staff is super friendly, and everyone is there to clearly have a good time. Next is the juxtaposition of great cocktails and simple food. Want to pair a manhattan with a tuna melt? Not a problem! A martini with a couple of chili cheese dogs? They’ve got you covered! While their cocktail program isn’t the best in town, it’s well above average. And they’ve got the food dialed in. To break down the food: Chili cheese dogs: Yes. Just order them. You won’t be disappointed. Tuna melt: If you’re from the east coast and love a good tuna melt, this one will set you straight. Mac & cheese: Don’t tell my mother, but it’s better than the one she made. Just let that cool otherwise you’ll be cauterizing the roof of your mouth. Grilled cheese and tomato soup: Few things counter a cold and rainy day than this little gem. Really, every food item I’ve had here has been fantastic, and I’ve spent a fair bit of time in that establishment. If you’re in West Seattle, you owe it to yourself to stop by.

They make a stiff Mai Thai. I don’t know what possessed me to try the meatloaf, but it was very bland. I don’t even know how much salt I had to add!
