If there was such a thing as minus stars, I would give them. In 20 years dealing with all ranges of mechanics, this shop is hands down the most unethical mechanic I have ever had the misfortune to come across.

These guys have been working on my ’88 Westy for a couple years now. They always do good work and are super honest about the repairs. When you have a 25 year old van, it’s gonna have issues. I trust these guys to fix them.
Can’t recommend them highly enough.

The crew at Wolfsburg simply know more about VW’s than anybody else in the area. The couple of low reviews of this shop surprise me. You simply can’t beat this shop.

These guys are solid. They do amazing tune-​ups, your vehicle will run like the day it came off the line. They’re a nice big shop and the owner, Jack, is really friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, they’ve become so popular they sometimes have as much as a two-​week wait. But they do quality work, so if you can schedule it, it’s worth it.

Wonderful service and attention to detail.
Not pushing their services and even recommending against an oil change because it «didn’t seem to need it», their services are highly recommended.

I love this place. I have been going here for over ten years and it is the one thing that has kept my aircooled going for so long. Jack runs an honest shop and will admit when he should have noticed a problem the first time. Occasionally they get backed up and it can take longer to get your car in or get it back then you would like. However, I have found that it is worth it to have them look at it. Their work is top notch and they stand by it. They are trustworthy and honest. They are also helpful if you do the work yourself. You can order parts or ask basic questions. Definitely the best VW shop in Seattle.

We bought our first Vanagon this last summer. While it was already in pretty good shape, these guys have made it even better. I am sure it helps that I understand mechanical issues well, and I pay attention to my rig and its quirks. However, I know that the guys here are very interested in doing great work.
There was one thing that didn’t get fixed quite right, and they made sure to take care of it next time I went in. The van runs like a dream, and they’re working with me to figure out the last remaining quirks.

I really wanted to like this shop, but I’m done with it. When you enter the shop, the guys at the desk hardly acknowledge that you’ve walked in. I can generally forgive that if the work they do is high quality, but it isn’t particularly high quality.
I had to have my blower motor replaced, and appreciated their suggestion to replace the heater core at the same time since dash removal is $ 500 alone in a 1986 Vanagon. But when I got my van back with a cracked windshield that they didn’t mention and disclaimed responsibility for, I was a little miffed. I couldn’t prove it didn’t come in like that, so I let it go.
I brought it in again to troubleshoot some intermittent overheating, and to ask them to look into replacing the sunroof. They couldn’t find a leak in the cooling system, and didn’t even mention the sunroof when I came back in. But they didn’t go to a second level of troubleshooting on the cooling system — they didn’t check the fan relay, the quality or sufficiency of the radiator or anything else. They just shrugged their shoulders and told me to live with it. Which is, a) BS, and b) not how I want to run my year round vacation machine. When I’m 20 miles deep on a forest service road for a weekend of camping with the family, getting stuck with an overheated van is unacceptable.
So I took a friends advice and went to Porbug in Lynnwood. And though I live in Ballard and Wolfsburg is convenient, I’m going to choose quality and customer service over convenience and take everything to George from now on.

If you own a VW Van you’re likely on a first name basis with your mechanic and you probably already know how hard it is to find one that you can trust to do quality work. Jack is the man and he knows these things inside and out. I’m sure I’ve been there more than a dozen times for everything from a rebuilt engine to weird-​ass electrical issues and I’ve never been disappointed.
I had the transmission replaced in my 88′ Vanagon about a year ago and it recently started leaking oil. When I brought it back in not only did they fix it free of charge, they swapped the entire thing out for one that they rebuilt in-​house. They obviously weren’t happy with the rebuilds that they had been getting and this was the only way to guarantee the quality of the work. Far beyond what I was expecting but definitely appreciated.

I had my 1980 Rabbit repaired at Wolfsburg Moterwerks a few months ago. Jack and his team put everything to rights, helped me find some new wheels for the car, and were very friendly and professional. It took a little longer than I’d normally like, but I consider a good mechanic like fine dining — if a place is doing everything right, then everyone wants in and you might have to wait a little while to get a seat. I’ll be confidently taking my car back in for a few additional issues. This is the shop to trust with a cherished VW or Porsche.

Yes, they are inexpensive and friendly. But, I took my 1993 Jetta in to have the wheel bearing replaced and a few other things done. It took 3 WEEKS to get my car done. I called everyday to check on the progress. Go across the street to Bays, it will get done WAY faster.

Honest shop. Quality Work.

They repaired my Vanagon quickly. They were nice and professional. The only down side is they bill 90 dollars an hour, which seems high. Usually I find that 80 per hour is the typical rate. But they are close and did a job so I can’t complain.

This auto werks place it great. It is hard to find honest mechanics for women and this place won’t try to rip you off. It is in a great location. There is plenty of parking around. They will answer any questions you have anytime. It is reliable and friendly.
