Reuben’s Brews

If you are looking for a wide selection of great beers this is your place. Along with a wide selection of beers, it has a cool set up on the patio in which garage doors open up, allowing you to go from inside to outside quickly to get in line for another beer. When the sun is out this place is hard to beat. They do have a big projector which shows major sporting events and that too adds to the ambience here. My one complaint is that there is nothing really to do outside of just drinking and conversing (no card games, lawn games, etc.)

This is a new location for Reuben’s Brews and while normally going out on brewery tours I’m all about hitting new breweries I have never tried before I just can’t pass up Reuben’s. They are one of my favorite breweries in town and I’m not in Ballard much at all so it was definitely time to make a stop again!
Their beer is still fantastic! All of the other beer patrons that were here looked like they agreed as well because I saw no pain! Lol!
On this trip I got a really great beer of theirs, the Azaaca IPA. To me it was not as bitter as some IPAs but had a delicious, resonating taste all around. Very drinkable!
As usual Reuben’s taplist of beer is enormous and there are so many options and information to process that you could just stay here and call it a tour of some of Ballard’s breweries due to the sheer variety that is here.

I LOVE this place. The beer is phenomenal and the atmosphere is so fun, however, the surly beertenders leave a lot to be desired. Perhaps a more positive crew may put the entire experience over the top. I come in at least twice a month, and I have never seen a bubbly or smiling person behind the counter. I do love the beer enough to let the terse and unwelcoming crew go!

Friendly staff, cute dogs, great beers, and a big beautiful garage tasting room + outdoor patio. Great on a sunny day or on an warming evening (they turn on twinkly lights outside).
Beers are all $ 5-​$ 6, and it’s a list of 25 beers. There’s always a food truck outside, or you can order Zeeks pizza (if you tell them to deliver to Reuben’s you get 15% off your order!) or bring your own food.
Favorites are the summer IPA or their sours.

Love how you can fill out a card with whichever beers you want to try and get taster sized glasses for each one! Great chill atmosphere with bar tables and indoor/​outdoor seating.

This small brewery in Ballard rises to the top of the crowded field in that neighborhood. They have won a number of awards for their beers, and the reason will be clear when you try one. I’d suggest a sampler to start, then get a pint of your favorite. The brewmasters are not afraid to get crafty and creative. You’ll find some styles here that are not typical, which works well when you have so many taps running. Their outdoor seating makes it a great option for sunny days.
Highly recommended.

One of my favorite breweries in Seattle. They have great outdoor seating and a neat inside setup. Great beer, their beer board is huge, there are so many choices and they are very knowledgeable and ready to help you select a beer to fit your needs. Or a flight, if you so choose. Also, there always seems to be a food truck outside, so your hunger pains are covered, too!

Place was busy on a beautiful spring Sunday. Great variety of choices. Also their beer is found in local restaurants so you know its doing well. Enjoyed everything i tried.

Not that big a fan of the IPA’s and Gose beers. The Stouts and the Porters however were very good. My husband and I did each did a taster and preferred the darker beers to the lighter. This place seems to be a favorite among locals because it was packed and we were there on a Sunday afternoon.

Reuben’s was great! I got the all star taster and liked them all other than the sour (but I don’t typically like sours)
They don’t serve food but there was a food truck outside that had good options
They are kid friendly and dog friendly which makes for a nice environment! I recommend the stout– it was really good

Pretty cool joint in the middle of what I would have thought was industrial nowhere. This brewery is legit! It’s got a nice little patio out front, and a nice spacious interior with a projector screen for sports. The beers were absolutely legit. I tried a lot of their beers and even had a nice tray of samplers. My favorite beer was their Crikey IPA, it was delicious with strong piney citrus profile. All of the other beers were very good and well made. This is definitely a must try brewery if you’re into craft beer!

I’m glad Seattle is getting into the brew scene… of course nothing can beat San Diego =)… come and we’ll show you.
Anyway we took the bus here and we’re a little confused because we thought Ballard was up and coming according to our Seattle friend… We walked around and it was very run down and ghetto warehouses… Then we got here and glad we were on the right track, and someone told us we had to go to Ballard Ave for the nicer part of town.
Reuben’s brewery was pretty cool, had a big screen for the football game. Many different beers to taste. For some reason I couldn’t find an IPA I like and settled for a Pilsner and a sour. If was still tasty. The bartenders were nice. They also had free pretzels. Bathrooms were clean! It wasn’t packed when we came in but when we left it was very packed.

Whenever someone asks me what my favorite Seattle area brewery is, I always tell them that Reuben’s takes the prize. I then try to accompany them as they go there, because I’m always looking for an excuse to visit the tap room.
I’m really glad Reuben’s moved to its new location because the tap room is now much larger. Not only do you now have more tables and chairs, but there are also more taps! I think there were ~25 offerings when I was there last week. There’s also free pretzels (yay!), and a water keg for when you want a college party throwback.
Their IPAs are always a blast. I also love their Imperial Pumpkin and stouts/​porters when fall comes rolling around. Oh, but the cream ale is a blast too.

this place has anything you could possibly want on tap. when i came in late septmber 2015, reuben’s had more than 20 different beers on tap. they also had non alcoholic options for your kids, pregant ladies, and breastfeeding women. they also have doggie treats! come one, come all.
i had their imperial pumpkin ale, which was simply phenomenal. not too sweet and not too hoppy. i also had their red and saison — omg. try the saison.
expect to see me back!

When I visit a place I do my research, and all signs pointed to Reubens.
Ballard is blowing up for breweries, but if you go to just one, go to reubens. They gots the pretzels, the growlers, and a solid list of even more solid beers. I tried, 3… 4? I can’t remember. But they packed a punch and I would come back for more and more and more if I lived int he PNW.
Also the outdoor space is pretty amazing. Didn’t spend much time inside besides ordering more BEER!

Did an amazing cycle saloon for my girl’s bday. First stop was Reuben’s. They have an amazing selection of beers. I’m pretty indecisive, so I was glad that I had the option to do little 4oz sample pours. Even better, you can buy as many sample pours as you like! This was only our first stop, so I had to limit myself. I opted for four different sample pours. I remember enjoying them all (problem with writing reviews later rather than sooner) but the one that still stands out to me was the Hop tropic. Lots of great citrus flavor and just the right amount of bitterness. As an added bonus, the Asian dude who was serving us had the sweetest fu manchu like stache… You go man.
No food except for some free pretzels, but you can bring in your own food. There was a guy delivering some zeeks pizza while we were heading out (very good idea). The board of there beers also gives you some food pairing tips which I thought was pretty nifty (the wine snob in me talking). And coincidentally, that hop tropic was actually written to go best with zeeks pizza! I should’ve jumped that pizza guy…

Reuben’s has been known to have award winning craft brews. I think they are mostly known for their IPAs (which I’m still developing a palate for), but their brews span the gamete. The original brewery space was tiny! They tried to accommodate the crowds by providing an outside space, but it was still not enough.
Low and behold in May 2015 Reuben’s Brews opened in a new, larger space a couple of blocks from their original Reuben’s! And it is pretty nice! Now for you hop heads, it’s open 7 days a week: 3 – 9 Monday thru Thursday and noon-​9 Friday thru Sunday. There is a TV, and I’ve heard they’ll be featuring sports events. Just like the original, it’s kid and dog friendly, and you can bring your own food if you like, too! And it has a lot more seating!!! There’s seating on the inside as well as a nice deck, half is covered and the other half is not. They can have up to 24 taps available. I had the Marzen, it’s light and you can actually taste the caramel!
I’m so glad Reuben’s Brews expanded! I look forward to make many more visits and enjoying a nice, cold Reuben’s Brew!

New bigger location! Love this place! Love the beer! Love the peeps! Roggenbier is still my favorite! Along with many others of my favorites! Cream ale if you like the lighter stuff, super smooth finish! Great IPA’s for all you hoppity-​doo lovers. And a great other seasonal ales… Reuben’s, please bring back the kenya cream… a blonde coffee-​esque beer, delicious!
They also have rotating guest taps! They even featured Pfreim’s Strong Dark, which is also another one of my faves and omg, so hard to find in seattle! and omg, don’t drive after drinking that one…
