Peddler Brewing Company

As a parent with a small child and two dogs, I so appreciate places like Peddler that allow dogs (on a leash) and is family friendly. I have been at least a dozen times through the year and as long as I bring a ball or some trucks, my son likes to set up shop and I am able to keep a good eye on him while also talking to other adults, and drinking some great beer. I also appreciate the clientele that seems to be there… just super chill people. I loved the Beer Garden this summer, but also found it really nice this fall and winter with the heaters and big screen TV. Also should mention that the beer garden is quite large and is well suited for friends gathering and hanging out. I think I saw that they started doing Friday Night Movies in the Beer Garden which is pretty cool. I really appreciate all the efforts in making this a chill, social place for folks.

Totally chill– loved it here! We visited on New Year’s Day, pup in tow, for a few beers and a game of corn hole (bag toss, baggo… whatever you call it). Enjoyed the super casual vibe and were grateful for the heat lamps outside! Beers were yummy.

Not much to say from me about Peddler Brewing Company. I sampled a couple of their beers as I was here with a group of friends after a bike ride. Nothing really tickled my fancy, so much so that the names of the beers I sampled slip my mind at the moment. To be fair, I’m not a beer guy, so I can’t bring myself to ding the brewery overall. It would be akin to a vegetarian going to a steakhouse and then saying they didn’t like the steak and trashing the business here.

As a long-​time disciple of both beer and bikes, I was excited to run across this place on a recent trip into Ballard. A friend and I, both guys who tend to search out small breweries, drink a LOT of beer, and who truly strive to support small business and root for the underdog start-​ups, we ordered the full flight sampler. All 12 beers. Well, 11 beers and a guest cider.
Our review, in short… some bike-​themed décor, a great outdoor area, and really nice people. The only problem? Well… the beer is… um…uh…The beer just isn’t good. A couple were drinkable (not exactly high praise, I know) but most were either forgettable or just plain bad. Punchless IPAs, a pumpkin seasonal that was WAY too heavy on the clove, and a Belgian-​style wit that was just flat-​out undrinkable.
I’m sorry, guys. I wish I could say better. My hope is that things turn around and this Ballard bike beer gets better.

Awesome /​large area out back with cornhole, life sized jenga, and a large projector screen to watch games. Great service too! What more could you ask for?

Super friendly bartenders/​owners! Welcoming and knowledgeable whether you’re a local or not.
We are beer connoisseurs and they didn’t mind upping the ante to speak to us about their beers when we showed we knew our stuff. They had 11 of their own on tap when we were there and 1 guest tap. All were delicious. For a seasonal I enjoyed the Pumpkin Belgian; for a regular their Black IPA/​CDA is fantastic.
This place has a HUGE and awesome beer garden in the back with a huge tented area with long wooden tables + benches, they run a cornhole league so that’s all set up to play. They have a stage setup — i can’t wait to come to movie nights or some events at this brewery!

Stop #1 on our Seattle brewery tour! We stopped here on a Thursday afternoon and all in all, a pretty solid place to stop for beer. The people working here were a bit odd, I felt like they were rushing to get us our beer and not really chat, when we were the only people there at the counter. We got a few tasters – I went with the Tangerine Hefeweizen which sounds great in theory but lacked any remnants of tangerine or citrus. The On The Left IPA made up for that, it was hoppy delicousness and just enough to quench my IPA craving. I really dig the space since it reminds me of breweries in Denver – minimalistic with the whole garage door opening with a beer garden in the back.

This was our first brewery stop in town a last week. The beer was ok. Nothing really stood out in my mind. I was more excited about the stickers than anything else. The people standing behind the counter weren’t that sociable to begin with. We were the only ones in line and they just wanted to shuffle us along without any suggestions. I’ll probably come back down the road as it looks like a place of big promises; just not this time.

Bikes and Beer! Love this hip lil brewery. Simple warehouse space with indoor and outdoor seating, great for groups. Out back has picnic tables and occasional food truck, fun atmosphere, people bring their bikes, dogs and pals!
Peddlers has 12 beers to choose from, many IPAs and a good Koelsch and ESB for session beer! Will be back.

Great venue with great outdoor space and really friendly staff. Great spot for groups or families.
The prices are maybe the best in Seattle in terms of price per growler.
The beer itself is average.

As mentioned in a previous review, I ended up at Peddler Brewing Company on a Sunday whilst on a quest for Cycle Dogs as well! Everytime I visit a new city, the first things I seek out are vegan food to devour and also local beer. This was like gettin’ two birds stoned at once!
During my visit, I had three pints for good measure; two On Your Left IPAs, and finished off with a Tangerine Hefeweizen. I love sipping on a seasonal fruit beer after enjoying my first couple IPAs on account of it’s kind of fun for my weirdo tastebuds. Both of these brews were A++, would sip again.
The patio area was seriously a precious gem. Spacious enough to accomodate a large crowd, and even for a group also enjoying the patio to play frisbee. Cycle Dogs had a nice little nook that they stake claim to on Sundays, and the place is decorated with old bicycle tires. Win! Staff was friendly and played all the best tunes.
Definitely worth the trip to Ballard. I wish that I had been around long enough to catch one of their Thursday outdoor movie nights!

If you park around back you can enter through their large outdoor area with picnic tables. They have 2 places to buy beer. The outside one only has 4 options and the inside offers all 12.
Today they have a gourmet sausage food trick. Beez Neez. Got 2 polish hotdogs. Definitely would recommend. Great for large groups

One of the best beer gardens in the brewery district in Ballard/​Fremont. Great beers, excellent atmosphere. Trivia/​movie night on Thursdays it super fun!

Decided to stop by the Peddler on our own Ballard Brewery Crawl this last weekend. I choose this brewery as one of our stops as it had great reviews online. Parking in Ballard and near here is a tad hard to find but street parking is free so you just have to drive aorund for a bit. The brewey has a huge outdoor space which was great with huge picnic tables, lawn games and even a food truck stopped by late-​afternoon (around 4:30 ish). They have pints or a sampler as well which enables you to try all of the differnet beers. There are definitely some unique beers here but overall the beer was good and the atmosphere was great.

Parking is a little weird. But this brewery has a great vibe, as long as not to many hipsters are around. The beers are reasonably priced and delicious. I recommend grabbing a flight first then order what you favor next.

We LOVED it here. It was the third & final stop on our makeshift Ballard brewery tour, & it was a great way to round out the afternoon. The inside was pretty busy & it was starting to get nice outside, so we decided to sit outside — best decision. It ended up being REALLY nice & it was perfect weather for sitting outside drinking beer. There were a lot of big groups of people and plenty of room for everyone — there are picnic tables galore out there. There’s even a spot for people to play lawn games; some people were playing cornhole & some others were playing some weird game with sticks that we couldn’t figure out.
Like a lot of the local breweries, it’s dog– and kid-​friendly. We had one of each (our dog, our friends’ kid) and it was great being able to bring them along. There were a lot of other kids & dogs running about and my dog really enjoyed getting to nuzzle with other Labradors of many colors (at one point there was a black Lab, a chocolate Lab, & a yellow Lab).
I started off with the hefeweizen, which I liked, but after that we decided to do a sampler. Our friend went to buy it & came back with twelve samples, which was huge! Most of it was really good, though; a few were a little unusual, but I think that was because they were just offbeat beers (one was a sour beer, I’m pretty sure).
It seems to really cater to bicyclists, which I’m not… but I loved it all the same and it may be my favorite local brewery at the moment.

Peddler is a microbrewery on Leary Way in Ballard. It is near the on ramp to the Ballard Bridge and is right off 15^th Avenue.
The tasting room is smaller than the one at Hilliard’s next street over. There is a bar by the taps, a few tables inside and a nice patio in front of the microbrewery. The patio is great for those summer days in which you want to bask in the sun with a beer in hand. It is an added plus of visiting this spot.
They have a dozen drinks on tap including a few from other local craft breweries. One being a cider. Peddler offers 4 ounce samplers, pints, kegs and growlers to go.
If you want to try several brews, I would recommend the samplers which are $ 2 each. If you prefer a pint, it is $ 4 – 5 depending on your selection.
Tried the ESB, On Your Left IPA and Tangerine Hefeweizen here. IPA was my favorite as it has a bite with fruity overtones. The ESB has a sour taste that was characterized to be like an Amber ale. On the fence about the Hefeweizen. It was alright, but I would rate this my least favorite of the three.
If you are doing a beer crawl in Ballard, Peddler should be one of the stops on your list. The sampler offerings here is appropriate for this sort of function.

One of the many breweries making Ballard the most densely-​packed neighborhood of breweries anywhere from sea to shining sea, and unique among Ballard breweries in that the reclaimed industrial space it occupies used to house… a successful Ballard brewery that moved to larger environs down the street.
They have a bagtoss game in the front room, rows of tables and stools, and some pretty clear-​pine paneling. There’s a big chalkboard with a taplist, and they have a few bottles for sale. The staff here are really convivial, very engaging and fun to talk to. The place gets paaaaacked. Lots of Ballardites throng the joint.
The prices here are fair, and they take credit cards. They have sandwiches, which you evidently cook yourself in the panini press on the end of the bar. Unfortunately, I couldn’t really get with the beers, but they’re still very new and I hope that changes as they brew more batches.

I love my Ballard breweries! Whenever I’m taking a trip to the Ballard breweries, Peddler undoubtedly makes it into the lineup.
The décor and set-​up of this place is key. I love the big industrial windows that bring so much beautiful natural light into this brewery, the custom wood bar tops with bike gears ingrained in them and even the bathroom which uses bike handles as faucet handles — really taking the bike theme to a level that captures our unique city without being remotely cheesy.
And then there’s the beer. Try the caramel ESB for a delightful twist on a classic brew or the oatmeal stout which will turn non-​stout lovers (me) into stout lovers. As an IPA lover my only «complaint» would be their On Your Left IPA (get it?) isn’t my favorite IPA in the world but it still gets the job done.
Can’t wait to return to Peddler on a warm summer day and sit on the patio with a cold, crisp brew!

Peddler Brewing Company was one of my favorite breweries out of our brewery crawl. Steve and I were sharing one beer per brewery so we did not get too loaded yet would still get a good sample of the neighborhood’s beers that were offered.
Peddler was one of those breweries where all of the beer looked so good that it was tough to make a decision as to which one you should order.
In the end we both agreed to get the Belgian Spice which was excellent! It had a great sweetness to it yet not too sweet to make you think you are drinking pop.
Peddler also had some free M&M’s to nibble on and it just happened to pair with this paticular beer VERY well!
When we hit Ballard again to go back to our favorites, Peddler will definitely be on that list!
