Great breakfast! Try the cranberry bread… i was surprised by how fresh and tasty it was. And the side of black beans was enough for a meal all by itself. Friendly, upbeat staff.

Good breakfast. I had the OMG scramble, which was a ton of food. Definitely a solid breakfast. It is kind of your mom and pop type of place, not fancy, so you have to expect that. Great for what it is.

This is the second time that I have been there, and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Always very friendly, the food tastes homemade and very large portions. I would recommend this breakfast place to anyone.

I stop by here every time I’m in Long Beach. They have good breakfast in very large quantities. Everything could be split between two people. The down side is their method of a waiting list. You just wait in line be hope that everyone else follows the honor system. There usually is a wait, especially on weekends and holidays.

Great service, and great food, we come here nearly every time we come to the coast. Love their chicken fried steak, banana cranberry bread, oysters and clams and pancakes. Huge portions and great prices.

I was hesitant to try this place but the reviews were good so we gave it a try! Don’t let the outside appearance fool you. The food was amazing! I had the oyster omelet one day and the seafood omelet the next — everything was fresh and delicious! The portions are huge. The hubby and kids were happy — no complaints at all! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. This has definitely become our go-to breakfast place for when we visit Long Beach. Oh and the cranberry banana bread is AMAZING!

Absolutely incredible. I am speechless. I had a blueberry pancake, the veggie omlet with bacon, and coffee. My fiancé got the skillet with a side of bacon. We almost cried it was just that good. We will be back for sure.

Great food! Come hungry! Cranberry banana bread is amazing, but so is all else we have had here! Stopped there just by chance the first time… now it is a for sure stop whenever we are in the area! Great food, nice people. Fun to look at the fun décor too. So very recommended!

Excellent. Wonderful. Great little place. Staff was friendly. Buttermilk pancakes were fantastic, just slightly savory and delicious. The buckwheat-molasses pancakes were wonderful — but super heavy! The bacon is thick and divine. The special of the day, a buttermilk pecan french toast, was very good. We were very satisfied. Portions are large. They have like a zillion omelets on the menu. A nice bike ride from the beach /Long Beach.

You sure won’t go hungry at this diner. Very large servings of good down home food. The setting and facility were clean and nicely decorated. I always love a booth too. The two ladies we had serve us were great, with food served up fast, and they checked on us just the right amount. I would recommend.

My family & I were in long beach last weekend for clamming and ate here not once but twice! It was sooo good. The best home cooked meal you could get by far. They have extremely speedy service and got our food to us promptly both times one with a part of 4 and one with a party of 7! You might find yourself waiting outside to get in but trust me it is so worth the wait. Everyone was so friendly. The food… Omg. Get a biscuit, you will not regret it. I wish I took pictures of my food but maybe if I find myself there again someday!

Really good, solid breakfast. The service was amazing and very friendly. Definitely order the half order of biscuits and gravy, it’s huge! I thought it was a little expansive for breakfast. We had half an order of biscuits and gravy, ham and eggs, coffee and OJ-it was $ 30! It was good, homemade food though so we would go back.

went there because the Unilocal reviews were pretty positive. We got there, sign said we’re real busy, no room inside so stand out here and we’ll get to you. kind of funny right? so we stand there… and stand there… and stand there… 25 minutes later someone asks how many in our party(5) and a few minutes later we’re scrunched into a table that normally is probably packed with 4 people… I don’t know what it is with Long Beach, maybe there is a fresh water shortage, but this place just like the place we went to dinner the night before was real stingy on the water. we had to ask for water refills a few times, the cups were tiny… the menu was ok. my daughter ordered a hot chocolate and it came with about 6 inches of whipped cream on top… cute… but not really practical either as it slid down the cup and onto the table… the reviews all said the portions were tremendously huge… they were large but nothing special really. The guy across from us got the gravy and biscuits thing or whatever and it WAS huge… and we saw an older lady get a waffle with about 7 inches of whipped cream on top(again, a bit much maybe?). the food itself was ok. I mean, nothing to write home about or anything. I guess Unilocal maybe gave us higher expectations for this place. It was on par with your basic denny’s or ihop I suppose. not very well kept up though, I read one review that said its been for sale for a couple years which makes sense because they’re obviously done reinvesting in the business. the service itself was marginal. not greeting outside was rude. all the staff looked stressed out. hey guess what, its sunday and its mothers day, get over it, you’re going to be busy… put that smiley face on and earn those tips. sheesh.

Great huge breakfasts. Many different kinds of omelets. Some are really unique. Not a PNW thing, but great grits. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Huge pancakes. My husband loves them and he is particular about his pancakes. Can be quite a wait on weekends but worth it.

This is the picture perfect small town diner that is much like walking into grandmas house. The restaurant is old fashioned and clean with a big potbelly stove. Great coffee and generous portions of delicious food. This is the place to go to if you are looking for home style food in a cozy comfortable atmosphere.

Huge portions! Pancakes were really fluffy! Loved the marionberry ones. Also had the skillet. It was good especially good flavor in the country gravy. Biscuits were gigantic. Everyone shared but we still couldn’t finish it all.

Good food, good portions, friendly staff. We ordered the cranberry French toast and chicken fried steak and eggs. Both tasted quite good. The spread of hot sauces, jams, and other condiments provided on the table was a nice touch. Although they were quite busy, the service was decent and the staff was all friendly. We would definitely eat here again.

Let me start with ORDER the Hillbilly Heap! When you read its content you will think twice, but it was awesome! Heart attack is likely but deferred(with any luck)! It is very much a mid century style diner. When you drive up it looks something like a converted Dairy Queen fast food restaurant. It is worn out as a physical plant. But before you enter there is a painted line at the front door that reads something like«Line Starts Here» and a simple posted sign encouraging patience and orderly conduct. That by itself made it worth trying this place. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was kind of fun. The services was just fine. It was a very nice experience.
