Going to Gino’s workshop and meeting him is like traveling back into the time when there were master craftsmen in the world! They do still exist and Gino and his daughter are living proof. It’s no wonder his customers come from all over the world. It’s out of the way, but well worth the effort if you want your wind instrument repaired! Thank goodness his daughter and her son are learning the trade from Gino. He reminded me of Geppetto in Pinochio!!!

Gino is a true Old World craftsman, a fine musician, and a gentleman. If you can blow through it, he can fix it, often with one of the great many tools he has created to facilitate his work. He will listen carefully to your description of your problem and often knows the solution instantly. He does fine work and really stands behind it. His charge is always reasonable, and whatever your interest in your music or your instrument may be, he will take time to chat with you about it. Going to Gino’s is such a treat that I sometimes wish my instrument would break more often.

There’s a famous saying, «If there’s a will, there’s a way.» Some of you may think what’s the connection with this review? Well, I guess if you have the will to find a real good instrument repair shop, there’s always a way to find one no matter how far it is. It’s definitely worth it once found. There are of course a lot of other repair shops, perhaps some near where you are, but maybe not as good as Gino’s. Gino’s Instrument Repair Shop is a great find. My fiancé’s bass saxophone needed a thorough repair and when we picked it up, it sounded brand new. Gino knows and understands everything about horns and this is a shop to go to. Wouldn’t trust no other no matter how far the drive is from where we live, this is our right shop for all horn repairs.
