Delicious strawberries at an affordable price. I usually get a huge case bc there are times when it gets busy and the good strawberries are all taken. I’ve always gotten lucky and 99 percent of the strawberries I purchase are really sweet and in great condition. I eat the strawberries fresh for the first few days and then I freeze whatever doesn’t get eaten so that I can use them in smoothies on hot days.

Definitely the best strawberries ever on earth. Best I’ve ever had anyway. Super sweet, and at a great price!

This stand sells 2 kinds of strawberries, and both are amazing — perfectly ripe, sweet, and so full of strawberry fragrance. The guy who runs the stand is super nice, and he also sells great(and cheap!) produce when it’s in season. Definitely worth a detour if you’re in the Russian river valley or Santa Rosa area!

We bought a flat of strawberries because we wanted to make ourselves some fresh strawberry jam. I can’t believe how amazing these strawberries were. They were so fresh, in remarkably good condition, and the taste absolutely popped in your mouth. Our jam would have never turned out as amazing as it did if we had bought our flat in one of the local grocery stores. Seriously, buy their produce!

Mmmmm… These strawberries are delicious! Have you ever had a strawberry that melted in your mouth? That was red all the way through to the core? Picked perfectly ripe? Well worth the wait when the line is long. I often buy a flat($ 25) or a half flat($ 14) and freeze what we can’t eat in the first two days. We use the frozen berries for smoothies year round. A word of warning — because these strawberries are picked at the peak of ripeness, they don’t last well. The best I can do is refrigerate them, unwashed and unhulled, in a Tupperware with a paper towel to absorb extra moisture. But even then their quality goes down dramatically daily. So eat them the first day for an absolute pleasure! And return often for more. We also love their peaches, green beans, red onions and corn. Family owned and operated, no spray produce. What a treat!

I’ve said it before… some of the greatest gems are those that are unassuming. And this place is no exception. Sitting in the middle of a field on Highway 12 sits a small wooden fruit stand. An even smaller sign with the word«Strawberries» inscribed on it marks the entrance. Given the amount of traffic on this road, if you don’t know exactly where Lao’s is, you’ll either miss it or get run over trying to turn into the dirt driveway. What can I say about Lao Strawberries? Well, let’s just cut right to the chase, shall we? Lao’s has the best strawberries that I have tasted in a long while. They are picked at absolute perfecton. Please note that at the time of this review, the second crop of strawberries are in at the local grocery stores. Unfortunately, they are picked very early(note the white tops). Lao Strawberries, on the other hand, have no white showing on them… at all! Each one is sweet, delicious and scream«STRAWBERRY» at you upon the first bite. In fact, I would venture to say that you would definitely be enticed to to have more than just one. Comparatively to other fruit stands and roadside locations, Lao prices his inexpensively. For as good as these strawberries are, I would gladly pay more. As an added bonus, Lao sells other fruits and veggies such as sweet corn, tomatoes, cantaloupe and green beans. For what we purchased today, I spent $ 5…that’s it! If I had purchased all of this at a store, it would have easily been triple the cost or more! Those in the know have already figured out that Lao sells the best strawberries around. Several people were bringing back their containers for a refill. Seriously… if you haven’t stopped by, I highly recommend going… NOW!

amazing strawberries. just a stand in the middle of a dusty lot, but these strawberries are in a league of their own. mini sized and kind of misshapen looking compared to what you’d get at whole foods, but don’t let the appearance deceive you. these pack big taste. perfectly sweet. melts in your mouth. looking at the shoebox sized carton, I thought we had bought too much… but they were half gone by the time we finished our car ride home!

Co-worker recommended this place for the best strawberries. They look smaller and different than the ones you get in Safeway, but don’t be deceived. They taste amazing! Bought a cantaloupe as well, hoping its as sweet as their strawberries.

Best strawberries on earth… if you’re in the area, be sure to pick up a basket… or 10. But don’t blink when driving down Highway 12 between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. You might just miss it!

I feel sad for anyone on Highway 12 between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol who doesn’t stop here during strawberry season. But then, didn’t you see all of those cars parked in the dusty lot in front of the little wooden storefront and wonder what was there? The most delicious, freshest, sweetest and juiciest berries you could ever imagine! Get there early in the season and you will be treated to the Chandler variety of berry: small, succulent and oh, so luscious. My sister from Portland and I stopped by one day, and her jaw dropped as she spotted three women walking up the road from the farm with buckets full of berries just off the plants. «I have to take a picture of this!» she said. «Gary will be SO jealous!» And those berries are worth every bit of praise they get.
