I really enjoyed the breakfast burrito. Joe is such a sweet guy and his crew is very attentive to their customers. They do an amazing job in everything they cook. Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from this place. Can’t wait to go back and try one of their other dishes. Thanks for the great service Joe and crew!

The worst service ever Are these guys for real? Mothers Day brunch was a debacle Took over an hour and a half Terrible service Food was good but how can this place survive when the owner runs to the farmers market and left no staff behind Beyond acceptable … Unless things drastically change this will place will be history!!!

Went last minute for lunch, explaining to waiter, who turned out to be owner, I needed to be on my way in ½ hour & would probably package food. «No problem» he claimed, «everything can be ready in 5 minutes». Proved to be good to his word & our food wonderful. I got portabella ragout, excellent, with a tasty raw tomato & snap pea side & tiny corners of nice pesto. I asked for polenta, good, but WillowWood is my high standard. My companion ordered a BLT which is one of best I’ve ever sunk teeth into. Open wide & don’t try to be neat! He also had a chardonnay. I usually can’t share a drink as he prefers oak & I like steel. This chard was nice, we both thought. Joe, waiter/owner, explained this bottle had 60% new oak, 40% steel aging. Voila! Nice wine & knows his choices. Will return soon.

I’m going to echo a lot of reviewers here — the restaurant is more than a bit of a mess. Without a doubt there is passion for food by the chef but the execution is what will keep me from coming back a third time. The menu is ungainly. Probably fifty items, additionally a tasting menu, and the option to add and subtract various proteins. The kitchen is set up to fail with such a menu — it’s nonsense. Both times I’ve been to this restaurant the service was just plain bad. Can’t get waters filled, servers can’t find bottles of wine that are on the menu — not just at our table, MIA for lengthy periods of time, very dirty floors, forgetful, act of congress to pay your bill, etc. And not just run of the mill bad service, truly bad service. I’ve had some very good food and some okay food here but there is a dire need for a professional restaurateur on consult because it’s amateurs running the show. There is potential for this restaurant but right now I will not return without some major improvements.

Dude cooking at the farmers market was YELLING at customers and the woman he was working with. I felt bad. Maybe he was having a bad day. But… The person next to me said she had A piece of GLASS in her food. So sad because I wanted to love the new spot in town.

The food was amazing! Had the BLT and a savory salad with local crab. I also really liked the whole atmosphere of the place, can eat outside or inside of a train. Heather the server was really helpful. If you’re around the area I highly suggest stopping by here.

Holly wow! We made the mistake of coming here hungry. They tried to explain a very complicated thing they do where you can have anything on the menu for $ 10 or pay the normal price for the same dish. Not sure if you get more food for those dishes that normally cost less. Anyhow, was going to order the«fatty crab» sandwich but was told that the salad had some«very special cucumbers from the farmers market that the chef is super excited about». So we ordered a soup, the salad, some taco’s and a burger. Then we ordered a bottle of wine. They came back and said they didn’t have that bottle of wine but had a different one… Then it turned out that they didn’t have that one either… So we just said«can you bring me a bottle of white wine? «…The bottle was half gone, and we drank very slowly, before the soup and salad came. There were NO cucumbers in the salad. It was a yummy salad, with micro arugula and a decent amount of crab. Then they forgot about the taco’s. Since we were sooooo hungry, we asked how the«sides» worked. They have side dishes like«lamb» and«duck confit». I simply asked, «so is the lamb side, like a certain cut of lamb? Or ground lamb on a plate? Or…» The waitress couldn’t really tell me. She said, «we can incorporate the lamb into your dishes, or whatever you like»… So we ordered a side of duck confit. The burgers came out along with a small plate of crispy shredded duck meat. The food all tasted good, but we have been here for well over an hour and still don’t have our tacos. The wine is gone and we are now running late for our evening plans. The water glasses are empty and there is dub step playing on the speakers. OH, and they don’t pay for their pandora, so in between dubstep tracks, you get to listen to tire commercials. WOW. Not coming back here ever again. How often can you write a review after getting pissed off enough to write a review at a restaurant while you look at an empty table with empty glasses and only a few other frustrated patrons. Addendum: we finally left without tacos. The owners felt bad and offered to comp the whole meal, we told them to charge us for the food we ate and we paid for our meal. They handed us the tacos in a to go box on the way out… So we upgraded their review to two stars from the previous one.

What a terrible dining experience at this establishment. The only reason I’m giving them 2 stars is for the mediocre service. This menu is Very confusing and dishes do not come out as described. We started with the tuna poke. If you’ve ever had tuna poke you know that it is usually served raw, this was served seared with some seaweed thrown on top and tasted very fishy. I ordered the black bean burger. I had asked the server if it was cooked and he replied yes. My burger came out completely raw, topped with a huge glob of goat cheese(it didn’t say it had goat cheese on it), and was basically eggs with some raw black beans in it… Disgusting. I took one bite and that was it. Our crab soup came out cold and bland. The crab sandwich we order had literally 2 pieces of crab on it. The server was nice but food took forever and he was very unfamiliar with the menu. Won’t be going back!

This is a new restaurant, so I wanted to cut them some slack. And I did – at first. The menu is inventive and fresh(if a bit disjointed). The setting, esp. in the dining car, is superb. My fish tacos were good, although I waited at least 45 minutes for them, and even longer for the simple salad that I ordered to accompany them. But here’s what I didn’t expect: a heaping big serving of attitude from not one but two waiters. Maybe everyone was stressed out, but they’re in the HOSPITALITY industry. I don’t expect to be shamed or talked down to. Or ignored. Any good chef/owner knows that if food service is painfully slow, it’s time to send out a little something to appease appetites and frustration. I hope they can get it together because the concept is interesting.

The floors and setting was pretty dirty. The waiter was Very nice. Lunch time, 12:15 when I arrived. A total of 4 other customers in the entire restaurant. Ordered a blt with avocado. It took 35 minutes for the sandwich to arrive. Everyone else’s food took just as long. The waiter was extremely nice and offered me a free beverage(which I turned down). Once my sandwich arrived one piece of bread was burned, and the other piece was really soggy, so when I picked it up the sandwich just fell apart. But, I ate it with a fork and otherwise it was yummy. The waiter was super friendly and even brought me a tiny chocolate dessert sample. I did leave him a nice tip because he was doing a good job, but the kitchen was not. The table next to me didn’t like either of the items they ordered and said they were going to go to Whole Foods to get sandwiches because their lunch was inedible. As much as I wanted to like this place it was really disappointing and I can’t recommend it.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary in the train, and it was great! The food was fresh and interesting, the service attentive, the train setting a knock out. Miners’ salad, stinging nettle pesto, risotto with wild mushrooms, perfect rhubarb pie and wonderful chocolate dessert. My husband doesn’t really like restaurants, he’s a good cook, and hates to pay big bucks for mediocre food. He wants to go back to this place!(And it’s not just vegetarian food.) Do yourself a favor, go to this restaurant. They’e open pretty much all day, it doesn’t have to be a big occasion. Seating in the train is I think just on weekend evenings.

Good concept. Execution needs work. Salad was nice fresh greens, but dressed in only in light oil, needed something else(acid) to set it off — I was able to add some salt, which helped a bit. Duck taco was a nice idea on sweet vs savory, but the duck was incredibly salty. I’m not shy with salt, but this was clearly over seasoned. Even with the sweet crêpe«taco» shell and the strawberries and avocado, the saltiness of the duck made it difficult to enjoy. On the plus side the chef made rounds around the tables outside and offered complimentary kombucha which was very delicious. Server seemed inexperienced and often absent — he did not check in after he dropped off my food and had to flag him down for water refills and later the check. I hope they get it together because they are obviously passionate about quality local ingredients, but they need to put it all together tom improve the dining experience. Maybe I’ll check back in there in a few months if they are still around.

These guys were serving at a show I went to last night and the food was amazing! I had the duck taco– hands down the best taco I have ever eaten. My companion was just as happy with her gluten-free version, such an accommodating menu and oh so fresh! We will definitely be visiting their restaurant in the future, I recommend you do too.

Food is good, but one small duck taco and no side for $ 10.00 you would expect at least 2 or some beans and rice. I won’t be going back. There is so much better food to be had in Sebastopol with a greater value.

Fresh quality meals. Definitely up and coming(it’s going to be big!). Get to know Joe, the owner. He is passionate about his business and what he is making of his skills!
