A great selection of yummy homemade pies. I like that they have small pies too, not just full size.

We’ve heard great things about the pies here so we drove over 20 miles to get one. We bought a regular apple pie and were very disappointed. It is the most bland no flavor pie we’ve ever had. It had a lot of apples and looked great, but we were not happy with the lack of flavor. That’s hard to do with apple pie! A full size pie cost $ 18 and we felt ripped off. We won’t be making that drive again

Best light flakey crust. I’ve never had such a light, great flavor, yet not so sweet. Perfect for my mother in law who is diebetic but can still have her pie and eat it too. Thank u moms apple pie!

I would go here for the pie only. Had a decent sandwich that pretty much filled the hole.

Had the turkey, cranberry, multigrain bread sandwich. Asked for mayonnaise, got mustard. VERY small potato salad container. Ordered iced tea. Had to go back to counter to get it. Lemon meringue pie was OK, not good. Gravenstein Apple(unsweetened) was OK. Crust was amateurish. If you are near San Diego, CA, stop by Julian for REAL pies. .

Yeah, This spot is wonderful! I may have indeed been biased by the bellyful of wine from Iron Horse Vineyards that was filling me prior to my arrival, but alas I can say this hit the spot in a great way. Just a mom and pop deli on the side of the beautiful wine country highway. We were recommended this lunch spot by our driver-a local and clearly a good food and drink fanatic– and knowing that what we were graving was simple sandwiches at a small no frills outdoor picnic table, he hit the nail on the head. I am sad we did not indeed try to apple pie, but again, the wine was taking up a lot of belly space at the time and we didn’t think ahead enough to go that far. I am intrigued to learn that in California, locals do not care to differentiate their sandwiches as we do on the East Coast. Haogies, Subs, Heros(?), whatever… it’s all just a sandwich. And really, that is what counts.

The deli sandwiches are very delicious! They are generous with the ingredients, too! The entire bakery is extremely CLEAN — which is a huge huge bonus to me! I always feel better, and safer, about eating in restaurants /food establishments that are well kept and squeaky clean on every corner. It shows that they work hard and care about the wellbeing and safety of their customers. The pies that we have had are definitely very good, handmade and beautiful. I do find myself wishing for a little more flavor in the pies. Just a little more kick would be nice, but still, this place is small country town wonderful! Very kind and friendly staff, too! Must love that!

I love pie — all kinds of pie. When we saw the sign out front — all I saw was«Pie», so we had to stop. I wish I would have checked the reviews here first. MP’s review here is spot on — unfortunately. My fave pie in the whole world is strawberry rhubarb. They have it here and we got one of the minnie one’s to split between the two of us. The filling seemed lacking — both in volume and that it seemed to be missing something. The crust was ok; but, maybe a little sugar on top or something would have kicked it up a bit? In hindsight, maybe we should have tried the Gravenstein apple pies — we were in Gravenstein country and that pie was a sky high one. Knowing how I love pie, I’m sure we’ll be back — until then, Mom’s is just 3 stars for me.

I have been going to Mom’s for many many years on my way to the Russian River. It has always been a goto stop for pie and occasionally a sandwich. In the past the pies have been to die for with a great crust and great filling. As you may have guessed, I have some bad news. I purchased a strawberry rhubarb and an apple pie on this trip for about $ 18 a pie. Both pies seemed to have gone through some sort of grinding machine with their filling mealy as if it were an apple sauce. The flavor was ok, but the consistency abominable. The crust was ok and not too chewy as if from a rolling machine, but did tear unlike a nice flakey crust. It was impossible to get a piece of pie out as it stuck to the tin and disintegrated. I later figured out to scoop it out as if it were ice cream. I also noticed a new iPad collecting the money up front. It is almost as if mom has retired and the store has been taken over by those who seemingly can follow a recipe, but do not have the expertise to carry it out. May we have our Mom’s pies back please? Maybe Mom can come out of retirement and save the day? I am now in search of a new pie place. Sadly, A pie lover.

Ok, everybody knows the pie here is delicious. This review is about their deli sandwiches. I have had numerous sandwiches here and I have yet to be let down. The freshest turkey and cheese I have ever had, served on a warm sourdough roll with just the right amount of condiments. Delicious every time.

I do love pie. I do like Mom’s pies of various fruits and flavors. I have tasted them all. But they are not perfect. The crust can be a little on the gummy side. But there’s a hack. Place the pie in a warm oven(250 degrees). I cook mine around 25 minutes. Allow the crust to dry out and crisp up a bit more. Eat warm or allow to cool again. Don’t forget the 3 Twins vanilla ice cream. Or the Clover dairy cheddar cheese on top of the apple pie.

Sometimes location is everything… There is absolutely nothing fancy about the sandwiches they make, but it’s good enough to eat while you are wine tasting or to soak up the wine you’ve already tasted. Since there isn’t much in this area, this is the one place many visitors or drive-buyer’s will stop to grab a bite to eat. However, they did have a plethora of pies, none of which we tried… so I can’t provide details in those regards. I was a little surprised that they take credit cards. Just by appearance, I could totally imagine them being a cash only establishment. Their menu doesn’t stretch too far, but has your basic sandwich offerings. Sadly, they were out of meatloaf when I went to order, so I stuck with a tried and true turkey sando! Go for the satiety, not the flavor.

The apple pie I bought was hollow the crust was 4 or 5 inches from the filling, it looked like a cave for 17.00 dollars I put a photo in there photo album take a look. My kids said it has a bitter taste,

This was better than expected. I was really adamant about getting a well-made, authentic, organic, grandma-baked apple pie… even though I’m not sure what that would taste like and the 3.5 stars and reviews were a little worrisome. That being said, 4 different people from different places said this was a must-try so we ended up coming here at the end of the day. And you know what… warm this up and serve with some vanilla ice cream and I am super happy. It’s not super sweet, which I love and has much more of a natural pie flavor.

Decent coconut cream pie — not too sweet and very lovely visually. Their apple pies are quite good. I haven’t eaten the food here in quite some time, so I have no idea if they’re updated their menu or not. I will have to revisit this place and give a real review.

Solid pies! I stopped by with my brother and cousin and ordered a slice each of apple and pumpkin pie($ 3 a slice). Definitely some really solid flavors, and the crust was delightfully flaky but firm, just the way I like it! The lady working the counter was also friendly. They offer a multitude of different pies, and in different sizes too. One thing: I got a cup of water from their dispenser, and it had a pretty noticeable, gross sulfur smell to it(almost like… sewage). I took a sip before catching the smell and didn’t get sick, but they should probably do something about that. I would take off a star for this, but am feeling nice today.

Great pies! Lots of flavors – we tried the pumpkin and chocolate cream. Both were very good. They have a wide selection and it was hard picking just a few to take with us on the road. The chocolate cream was made with a great bittersweet cocoa, nothing like those gloppy Jello kinds you get at a grocery store or chain restaurant. Very rich. I love chocolate and even this was a bit decadent for me! I couldn’t really taste the crust, and even though I’m more of a cake person than pie, crust can make or break a pie. The pumpkin was perfection! Spiced just right. Smooth, creamy and light on the tongue. I would say the pumpkin was better than the chocolate unless you’re one of those people who squeeze chocolate syrup into your mouth as a light snack. The apple turnover was light and flaky, delicious and obviously home made pastry. Fair prices. Great little place to stop for a slice of pie and Americana. We were greeted warmly by staff and a table of older ladies playing a game of Mahjong.

This is the kind of place you can pass by … day after day after day … and wonder about how good they may or may not be … but don’t stop. Well, when I worked at a winery around the corner … after a few weeks I realized I could get there in 5 minutes after calling in an order and it would be ready to drive back with. How many people can be around the outskirts of Sebastopol/Forestville/Santa Rosa trifecta and not stop here!!! It’s a question I asked myself for so long … even after I finally stopped here. Well, to be fair … the story that got me in here: My coworker disdainfully disappointingly declaims«I’m really upset they forgot …» To this day only a month or two later, I don’t remember what they forgot with the sandwich. Maybe the pickle? But I do remember he loved the fact he could replace the potato salad with an organic applesauce cup. I was just so stoked to the extreme and could barely contain myself to realize that there was any food to-go or take-away near a winery out in the cuts! It took me only two days to finally break my regular half hour routine and call in an order. I ordered the«soup of the day»: Tomato Ravioli. Explained as «mini cheese filled ravioli in a basil tomato soup». Okay, sounds good enough. The soup was decent, a little thin. Used dried basil instead of fresh. And the mini ravioli were simmered for so long half of them fell apart. Still I was so hungry after working so hard … I didn’t care. I brought spices from home to top it off with the next day. The other thing I ordered was a pastrami sandwich, with applesauce as my side. The bread was wonderful!!! The sandwich was to order. I also got a pickle slice which was pretty full of seeds, so I sliced them off but still a tasty pickle bit. My only real minor complaint was that I asked for onion(extra) and it was sliced so thin and barely there that I had to open my sandwich to see IF it was there! I laughed when I found a small thin sliced clump and realized if I order again to ask for LOTS of onion to get a regular amount for a sandwich. I also ordered a salad and ate that successfully over two days. The salad and the soup were the best deal as the leftover sandwich didn’t keep very well. The salad and sandwich cost the same at about $ 8 and the soup was $ 4. On a cold Autumn day sitting outside for lunch after working hard at a winery all morning makes it worth a nice bit of salad with a bit of a warm, warm soup. There was no wait on my venture in and I even bought some other stuff! I got a large bottle of organic apple cider and a 4 pack of organic apple sauce for very affordable prices. I was stoked to stock this in my work fridge and had healthy alternatives for a whole week. Sometimes a small bit of juice and other times a small bit of applesauce. Don’t overdo the fruit! You’ll make your digestive system too efficient at processing! Just thought I’d mention that as there is so much apple at Mom’s Apple Pie you may need to pace yourself! I had a wonderful experience there. And while no longer working at a winery near there I would most certainly stop there for food on way to another destination if passing by. So to sum up: Sandwich bread is awesome, sandwiches themselves okay(stress additions/substitutions). Great organic apple products(juice, sauce, etc)! Great healthy choices for eating. Daily rotating soup is average but the fact they do it, great! A definite stop by for traditional deli lunches!

Easy to spot off the 116 — - Many different fruit pies available, & some cream ones as well. Small little frozen ones for sale, as well as frozen slices. $ 4.50 made us happy with a small blackberry pie. Crust isn’t buttery or flaky enough for my druthers, and the rhubarb slice purchased was okay. But handy to get some of that Sonoma valley fruit in pie form without having to bake them!
