Park Avenue Turf

We had Park Avenue Turf come out last Friday and they laid 1600 sq feet of Sod in my back yard. Their installation crew showed up right on time and got to work. I has some questions about the the base preparation work I did and they answered all my questions.
They had three people installing my sod, one delivering the sod to my backyard and the others rolled out the Sod like carpet. The team worked together very well, I do not think that there was a wasted step.
Once the grass was laid they gave me instruction about watering and fertilizing, they also laid fertilizer under the sod before they started. We purchased the RTF blend that is 30% more drought tolerant. I could have laid this myself but I am glad I had them install it. Anyway, Great Job! Now I have to wait several weeks so it can root before I walk on it.

We had some grass delivered from them two years ago. Grass was delivered when they said it would be. Sod was cut that morning so it was fresh. Had no issues with the sod — we installed it ourselves no problem. Also ordered some fertilizer from them.
A couple years later some tree cutters cut some branches and the branches landed and took out some huge divots in our lawn. I called Park Avenue turf and even though I purchased the grass from them two year before, they were very helpful with some tips on fixing the grass/​lawn upkeep etc. When you call them there is no automated voicemail — you get a real person. They know their grass and have been real helpful.

I have to say, I placed the order on Thursday and they game me a 1hr window for the next day between 8am and 9am. They arrived at 8:30am Sharp. The driver was really nice and put the pallets where I wanted them. I laid the sod, yard looks fantastic and I had 30 rolls left over that I gave away free on Craigslist. So far, our new yard looks most excellent. I plan to do the front yard in the spring and can’t wait. Great Grass and Great Service! Thanks guys!!!

Buyer beware! Home Depot sells sod that is provided by Park Avenue Turf. Their sod turned a golden hue within 2 days of installation and was completely dead four days after installation. They refuse to make it right by claiming that our church staff did not water enough, which is NOT the case. The area was finished with sod from a different company, AG Sod, in Bakersfield, and their sod is growing beautifully. Park Avenue Turf’s customer service department is a definite oxymoron. Customer service is nonexistent. They are slow to return calls. Ken and Billy were defensive from the git-​go. Again, buyer beware! What a HORRIBLE experience and a complete waste of our funds.
