The Kefiry

I came into the store today with five kids. We were interested and what these guys were doing and it was a real treat. In addition to getting free samples we got some education on Kiefer and the way the process of making these drinks works. The owners were really helpful and explain the whole process to us in a way that was very accessible to the 8 to 12-​year-​olds. We got a six pack to go. I feel healthier already!

The guy knows his stuff!!! Keifer helps with autoimmune diseases so right up my alley :)

Unfortunately the quality is not what it was when it first open.

I love the Chocolate, Mexican Chocoate, Lemon Ginger and Tumeric. Perfect for little kids too! My family does not drink soda or sugary drinks, so when we want a treat, we come here. Tasty and so good for you!

I’m devoted to The Kefiry. I’m in there, returning my empty bottles and picking up new full bottles every week. If I go out of town, it’s with an ice chest and a bunch of Kefir water on ice.
I don’t know how to say this without it sounding like hyperbole, but this place has literally changed my life. I have Crohn’s Disease, so it’s difficult to keep my micro-​beastie population up in my digestive system, but a cup of water kefir a day does it for me.
I love the hibiscus and the jasmine the best right now, but I’ve had other favorites before and I’m sure I’ll have other favorites in the future — -because you just can’t go wrong here!
I’m, also, devoted to my alkaline water filter. It’s the only water I drink. I feel so much more hydrated and my delicate body system seems to respond well to the alkaline environment.
Plus, Jeffrey and Tom are just lovely people — -everyone in this shop is lovely.
I like to bring my out-​of-​town friends here for tastings, too! It’s such a fun experience and much more my style than the usual Sonoma wine tasting trip!

Great flavors and super helpful! They can tell you ANYTHING you want to know about kefir water and alkalization and all of the health benefits.
The root beer flavor is fabulous, we even made some root beer floats with it that were super tasty and healthy-​ish! Lemon ginger is soooo good and refreshing too!
The turmeric flavor was surprisingly sweet and spicy, very good, very beneficial for your body. The green algae one was one of my favorites. They’ll let you sample them all too so you know what you’re buying and educate you on all the benefits!
It’s not just kefir drinks they have though, they also have a lot of alkalization products, even shower heads and bags to alkalize your water!

Don’t ask me what this stuff is, but it’s tasty!

Like most, I thought The Kefiry made kefir. You know, the dairy milk product?
What I didn’t know was that kefir can be any fermented drink made from beneficial bacteria and yeast cultures. The Kefiry makes a variety of wonderful, very healthy probiotic libations, none of which are dairy. They are all alcohol-​free as well.
My favorite is their Lemon Gingerale Gingerbrew. I’ve tried them all; Triple RootBeer, Tulsi-​Rose Kola, Hibiscus Maya, Jasmine Green Tea, Flower Power, O.M.G. Chocolate, and Oceans of Wisdom. I love them all and it is hard to pick my second favorite. Well, if I did it would be Oceans of Wisdom (extra credit for the name).
Two new flavors are coming out, Tumeric Spice and O.M.G. Super MOCA. Love the Tumeric Spice and have yet to try Super MOCA, but I’m sure it’s awesome.
Nearly all these flavors come in very large Ball brand jars, 64 ounces, with the wide mouth tops. Sometimes pouring them into a glass is a little drippy. There is a $ 2 deposit on each one, so returning them has an incentive for reuse and re-​bottling. Not a problem for a super green guy like me.
I’ve known one of the owners, Jeffrey Edelheit, for decades. I’m very happy for him that his business is so well received and that he is doing something he loves. I’ve met one of the other owners, Tom Boyd, many times at The Kefiry as well. It is a small shop in a small strip mall of sorts, but it has a lot of charm. It has all the look and feel of a «Sebastopol» company.
To answer the big question: No, the kefir beverage was NOT named after Kiefer Sutherland. Kefir as a drink has been around a lot longer than the actor has. But, maybe Kiefer likes to drink kefir? Hey, maybe The Kefiry can get Kiefer Sutherland to be their spokesperson?
Kefir Enlivened Beverages are on the expensive side, yet well worth it for me. For the deliciousness, health benefits, and the chance to enjoy such a unique hand-​crafted beverage, make a trip to The Kefiry. .. they pour lots and lots of free samples.

The kefiry has great drinks. It’s hard to find kefir anywhere else. They tend to be busy and will spend time with each person sampling and talking about kefir.

I’m glad others gave a 5 star rating to balance out my 1 star. Couldn’t get them to help us. They were too busy shooting the shit. My wife asked, «I’m sorry I’ve never been here before, is there a menu?» And the dude points at the wall while still talking w his bro

Sebastopol has many hidden treasures as you cruise up the main drag. One of them is the Kefiry. Tom and his crew will take you on a tasting adventure and share their story as you sip the wondrous creations of probiotic beverages they offer.
I run a wellness center and cant wait to have a tasting in SF soon, Really soon!

The Kefiry is an amazing little place where you can get the healthiest beverages available served with care and loads of information about health, water and beverages. Jeff Edelheit provides samples of his array of flavors from OMG coffee to Jasmine, to Root Beer and a floral fruit flavored beverage. All are made with the purest of water and the very low sugar content means that they are even OK for diabetic diets.

Just had O.M.G Cocoa fermented chocolate kefir and it is AMAZING!!! Can’t wait to try more flavors!
