It doesn’t exactly look like a shack but it doesn’t look like much from the outside either. Check out a fellow Unilocalers pics to see the inside. It’s also one of the few places in Sebring that’s not on Route 27! This is one of those breakfast and lunch only places. I stopped in on a weekday around 9:00 am and there were about 5 folks at tables. A bunch more piled in a few minutes later. To me this is a great example of an A OK three star place. The ATMOSPHERE feels like a bbq joint which it is at lunch. There are booths along the walls and tables in the middle. If it was packed it would hold maybe 50 folks. My breakfast crowd was being handled by one waitress. She was friendly but right at the edge of out of control. My CUSTOMERSERVICE was A OK but just barely. So what about my FOOD? Eggs, corned beef hash and an English muffin were A OK and not greasy. Overall I had a decent time. I love bbq so I’ll be back during a lunch hour to check it out.

After seeing just the picture, I knew that I had to make Smoke Shack a stop for breakfast my last week here in Sebring. And it was a great choice. First off, this is not a chain. We Unilocalers like to «shop local.» Well, this is «eat local» in this little dinner that’s open for breakfast and lunch. I do have to admit that at 7:30 when I was the first car in the parking lot, I nearly turned to leave. «Step out of the comfort zone, Bruce» I said to myself. And so I was the first person inside. No worries, within 20 minutes the place was hopping and the parking lot was full. I had the corned beef hash and eggs. A nice sized portion of hash that was quite tasty and grilled well. I put my over medium eggs up on the sliced toast and they were perfect. Nicely cooked. Home fries were just okay, but they did soak up the left over yolk from the plate. A very inexpensive meal and it was quite tasty. And yes, they have an Xfinity wifi setup.
