Very limited menu but what they have is very good. Also, despite being in a hotel, I found the prices reasonable. The burger is quite good!

Man what happened to this place? It used to be great… now the menu is gone and it’s basically just an overpriced hotel bar… used to come here like once every 2 weeks… no longer.

Note: the menu available on their site is no longer the food they serve. Came here last night with my boyfriend. We waited to be seated for several minutes, until the bartender appeared and explained that he was serving as host/waiter/bartender. He sat us then gave us a very small food menu from the adjoining coffee shop(think paninis and hamburgers). We left bc it was just depressing — it was obvious that they are not doing well. Might be a good spot if you’re looking to just have drinks and need a lot of space.

I don’t know why this place hasn’t gotten better review. Whenever I’m in the area I come here. Away from the hubbub of houlihan’s, chili’s and the lot lies this spot — It’s quiet, decently priced drinks and the food is good. Good for a quiet date night — I personally love it. If you catch them on the right night they have decent specials as well.

Great value! Wonderful Nicole to cheer you in the morning. Solid yummy breakfast. This place is the much needed oasis for the suburban/urbanite looking for a cool, hip décor spot to enjoy breakfast. Yeah Urban Plum! You ‘re doing great

I’ve been here 3 – 4 times, normally EMPTY when i go. Dont know why — its a nice looking place inside the hotel and the food has always been pretty good and presented nice as well.

For a Holiday Inn Express, this is actually a pretty nice hotel bar/lounge set up they have. I was shocked at how modern and well kept it looked when I first saw it considering the brand of hotel it was in. The Urban Plum is chic, intimate, urbane and has an overall good aura to it. Great specials for happy hour, and a very impressive selection of local and national craft beer. The food menu is OK, and most dishes and appetizers are fair to medium in price. Happy hour usually draws a good crowd of travelers staying at the hotel and people who work in Harmon Cove. Expect the unexpected at ‘The Plum’. This place is probably a home run hit if you’re going out to try and pick up girls or get drunk once in a while; hence still being located in a hotel bar in an office park more or less. On the other hand, I’d say it’s probably a better place to unwind with friends, co-workers or people you travel with over some good beers and food during more transient times. Craft beer selection alone is why I rated this place with four stars. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.

there was no one at the restaurant when we were there. The food was amazing and the waitress was very nice.

I’ll make it quick. I eat here now and then because my company puts my up in this hotel. I like the hotel, I somewhat like the restaurant for breakfast since I am already here, but for dinner… NOPE. On the menu is a NY Strip Steak with garlic/parmesan fries. I’ve had it twice. I think the first time I thought it was ok. Not very good, just not bad. Since having it again I think it’s way below par. Tough, overcooked and under flavored. The fries… sounds like a good idea but they don’t taste good. They are edible, and I ate them all, but they just had a slightly off taste. I should have asked for plain, or something else. I was with someone who had the salmon and it didn’t look good. Bottom line… my meal was the steak, fries and a glass of water. It came to $ 20.33 plus tip. Next time I’ll walk around the corner and go to Outback. At least their steak has some taste to it and you get 2 sides for only $ 11.

Very good service, but the food is average. The décor is nice and it is a bit of a sports bar in the Holiday Inn. Our appetizer was their mozzarella with tomato over toasted french bread. Don’t order if you are hungry, for seven bucks it was 2 tiny slices of bread with the fixings on top. Very disappointing. The meal was ok, we ordered fish and chips. Nothing special. Too many restaurants in Harmon Cove that are better.

My husband and I went here based on the reviews but were really disappointed. The décor was elegant but the food and service were horrible. The waitress came over after we were seated for some time and scribbled my order onto my menu while I was ordering. We order stuffed fried olives which came unstuffed. They were just olives and breading. My husband got a French dip sandwich which he said was dry and tasteless, and I ordered a burger. My fries were good but the burger was okay. At one point during the meal we wanted to order another drink and had to go find the waitress. We won’t be going back. This review was written over six months ago. Unfortunately I forgot to publish it until now. Looks like not much has changed though.

If I could give this place negatives, I would! It was great when it first opened, now it’s probably the worst place I’ve EVER been. Came here for Valentine’s day and my night is completely ruined. Our waitress was HORRIBLE. wait, can I call her horrible? She was basically non-existent throughout the ENTIRE meal. She brought our drinks(I had the plum drink and it was disgusting) and then finally took our order. When she brought our appetizers I asked for a wine menu. had to ask for it again 10 minutes later to actually get it. Next, our meal. WOW it was seriously gross. My salmon had something chewy on the bottom of it and that was when I stopped eating. Nothing had flavor, everything was bland… what happened to this place!!! After our«waitress» passed by us oh 4 or 5 times, I went and asked the first person(bartender) i saw to call over a manager to our table. Of course he didn’t, so I asked a different waitress for a manager a few minutes after that. He brought us our check(10% off. really?) and explained they were short staffed. OK but this place is not even close to being full and our waitress is clearing tables of empty tables instead of ours. So finally our table got cleared(yes, our appetizer plates along with our entrée plates). manager asked if our food was good and i said no. not even close to what it used to be. The manager was great and offered us free dessert or a drink, but I didn’t want to be there a SECOND longer. Our«waitress» was already giving us dirty looks. Urban Plum, hire waitresses who have customer service skills! I will NEVER come back here. WORST restaurant experience of my life. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. BLAH

Just reading the menu makes your mouth water with the different combinations of exotic flavors. The atmosphere is dark and sexy with that sense of mystery. The décor is lovely, especially the fireplaces on the parameter of the restaurant. The only flaw was the floor service was slow. We were there for business so clearly we needed receipts and the items to be charged to the room and we informed her upfront. By the time she came with the checks, she forgot about that conversation. She misheard one of the guests orders and went back and forth with her that she«never ordered [that]» which we heard her order it clearly. She had no sense of urgency and clearly was not accustomed to many tables at once. They stop serving food at 10p.m. and we got there about 9p.m. so you can imagine, it was not that busy. The bathrooms were nice and clean.

Like it here, quiet but the food isn’t that great and it is inside a Holiday Inn. Good for a drink before or after the movies.

This restaurant can be found inside the Holiday Inn. The atmosphere is pretty nice. We had dinner here on a Sunday evening so it was pretty much deserted. We shared an appetizer(fondue), had a few drinks, and then shared some blueberry cheesecake. I thought the dessert was the best, but nothing really impressed me enough to come back on the other days we were staying nearby. Visited: September 23, 2012

Frankly, better and tastier than most of the negative reviews. We thankfully didn’t experience problems with slow service, even with a table of 10. Food was creative, served promptly, and cooked properly. If you’re coming to this place for just another burger and a Coors Light, then yeah, you may be disappointed. However, if you’re on the more adventurous side, there are some good things on this menu. The house salad you can order instead of fries was HUGE and contained a nice mix of veg. Ahi tuna sandwich was cooked perfectly. The roll tended to fall apart a bit, but was a nice, flavorful complement to the dish. There was a ton of veg piled on top of tuna — red pepper and arugula were definitely welcome, the green beans and edamame made it a bit difficult to eat, but I liked the texture contrast. Overall the sandwich was vastly underseasoned, and I added some extra olive oil, but after that it tasted great. Phenomenal, if overpriced, rotating beer selection for a place of this caliber. The main course came out soon after the salad, but everything was presented nicely and quickly; food was at a proper temperature when it was brought out, and I don’t think we waited overly long to eat. If you are looking for chain restaurant food, there’s a ton of them within walking distance of this place. But if you’re looking for something different, and don’t mind paying a bit more, this is a nicely decorated, quiet place to eat and drink with friends and actually have a conversation.

Don’t waste your time and money! While the vibe and décor of the restaurant is sleek and inviting, the food was terrible(salt & grease overload) and the service was even worse! The Philly Cheesesteak Egg rolls appetizer was tasteless grease and salt served with one dipping sauce that smelled like vomit and the other dipping sauce that consisted of ketchup with hot pepper mixed in — awful all around. The Lobster burger sounded delicious on the menu, but in fact was a dry, rubbery re-heated frozen patty that was most likely microwaved. The roll looked decent, but the aioli sauce that it was drowned in was also tasteless, salty and gross. The waiter(when we could find him — yes we physically had to get up and look for him) never offered to refill my hot tea or our very small water glasses. And to boot, the place was deserted so there was no excuse for such poor service. When someone in dirty torn jeans and a bad shirt(who I assume — go help them all — was the manager) came over to apologize because I sent the food back, I couldn’t get a word in about WHY I sent it back — he was only interested in finding out if I wanted something else in its place. When I said no, he shrugged said ok and walked away. Please do not eat here — I fear for your well being if you do!

This place gets one star just for the décor. The food quality was less than you get at Natoli’s or Oasis. And the prices were more than I would think considering the food was below par. I guess they have to pay for the very hip décor. It’s in the lobby of a hotel so you would think it gets busy, but the times I was there it was nearly empty. Probably due to it’s out of the way location. The bar saw a little more action than then restaurant. The Urban Plum tries to be a hip Hoboken-esque place, but it misses by a long shot.

A somewhat of a thumbs down for this hotel lobby restaurant in Harmon Plaza, yet it had a chic and happening feel décor-wise with dim lighting, comfy banquettes, and dark wood. Very nice and modern. The food, on the other hand… just wasn’t up to snuff. Here’s why: We started with the pepper cheese fondue. A standard cheese dip with a bit of roasted pepper flavor, popped under a broiler for a bubbly top. It was served with tri-color tortilla chips that were very stale. A careless mistake by the kitchen that set the tone by not knowing, or caring about what was being sent out to the dining room. The ahi tuna sandwich was good, served on ciabatta bread and garnished with arugula, sun dried tomato pesto, and sliced grape tomatoes(odd on a sandwich). On the side was a pile of decent french fries. The lobster burger was a miss here. A thin patty of lobster held together by, well… I dunno, and fried till browned. It absorbed a bit of oil and was a bit mushy. Served on a brioche roll with orange segments, it was not the best choice of bread due to the sweetness of the brioche, and also it’s texture… a little crumbly. The oranges were an interesting topping, but the lobster really should have been allowed to stand tall here, if it were better executed, that is. It’s a featured item on the menu, recommended by our server, and sounded good on paper. But alas… no. The place was totally empty on the Friday night we dropped in, so service was fine. I think it may be a nice place to have a drink during the week if you’re staying at the hotel, but that’s it. Our expectations were raised a bit because of prior Unilocal reviews, yet our experience didn’t measure up.

This place has great atmosphere… especially for being inside the Holiday Inn. I had a casual Friday dinner there and don’t have any complaints. The menu has something for everyone and the prices were reasonable. Each meal was more than enough to share or take home. Your choice. The only problem is that they don’t have coffee in-house, so if you want a little coffee after dinner, you might have to go somewhere else to get it. Valet parking was validated by the server, so that was an added perk.
