Grooming Palace

SMALL BIZ DOING WHAT LOCALS DO: CARING FOR FELLOW LOCALS (AND LOCAL PETS, OF COURSE)!
– MY OVERVIEW –
I adore The Grooming Palace & my pups do too (well, as much a dog can love a groomer, that is). My husband & I have come here since moving to the area in ’08, and whether you’re human, k-​9, or feline you’re treated well: when scheduling, you speak directly w/​the owner, & she grooms the pets herself. It’s that personal connection that big-​box shops can’t match, plus the price is just right! They’re not cheap (’cause good work deserves fair pay) but are reasonable too, compared to those corporate chopshops.
Now, the shop is not a fancy «palace», but my pups come home looking like Queen Elizabeth’s own Corgis (if they were Corgis that is… you get my point! lol). They also went above-​and-​beyond when we found a homeless dog some time ago; I believe sharing that experience wiould be the most enlightening review I could write. So that’s what I’ll do…
– MY DETAILED REVIEW –
One day, outside our window, we saw a clearly homeless & terrified dog sprinting house-​to-​house, and we had to help. Carefully, we caught him & were off to the vet: based on her unfortunately extensive experience, she believed a Puppy Mill dumped him near town once he aged beyond breeding use (ie, dentals showed 7−8y/o, small-​breed purebred, intact/​un-​fixed, no chip/​collar/​tag, w/​abuse behaviors, etc –shout out to Doc Caswell at N. Cascade Vet). After getting shots, flea/​tic & dewormer etc, we were off to The Grooming Palace.
Once she heard the above, we were fit in right away despite the busy summer season; she understood that waiting would traumatize him more by requiring isolation (being so bug infested & mangy, he couldn’t enter our living space for our other pets’ health). They got to grooming… And it was like his Fairy Godmother had performed a miracle! …his dreaded hair was cut, coat cleaned & shiny, bugs washed away, skin treated, LONG talons trimmed, paws & pads conditioned, EVERYTHING. It was astounding (see a glimpse in photos). He turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL dog: it was like «She’s All That» or «Pretty Woman», but «Pretty Puppy» perhaps?
The best part was bringing him home. He went inside and met his new family because, of course, we ADOPTED HIM! We named him George, and now he and our other dog, Sidney, are best friends. She helped him through the rough transitioning after so much abuse. It wasn’t easy though, and it took 2−3yrs of work & training to establish healthy habits & build his trust in humans. And that wouldn’t have been possible without our groomer, both in the beginning and throughout the years.
After a recent grooming session, the lead groomer told me that George’s behavior is now better than Sidney’s during grooming! It was like an «A+» on your child’s Report Card! We really appreciate all the generous & skilled service The Grooming Palace has provided and will continue to provide us in the future.
