The breakfast food was good. I ordered the chicken fried steak which had a really great crunch to the batter and the gravy was made well too. The service was lovely, she was very attentive to our drinks and had a pleasant smile considering how busy the place was. 1 star fell off because the decore– tables, seating arrangement, pink walls, etc made us feel like we walked into the dining room at an elderly care facility.

Came across this little gem while we were in town checking out the tulip festival. The diner was completely packed, with no seats available. We waited only a few minutes, then we were given a table. I can’t say enough about this place. The food was absolutely amazing, big portions, and the service was fantastic. I was impressed when our waitress brought out a Mickey Mouse shaped pancake for my toddler. He loved it! I was so touched by their thoughtfulness. My step-son said he would rate them 6 out of 5 stars. Amazing! Give them a try; you will be glad you did.

I have actually never had breakfast here, which seems to be what they are known for. Joy’s catered the dessert for my bridal shower. They did the most beautiful job! Marshmallow pops, cookies, cupcakes, cupcakes that looked like Cinderella shoes… they did a little bit of everything and it was all beautiful and delicious. My aunt who hosted the shower said they were very affordable and wonderful to work with. If you need dessert for a party or shower, this is the place to get it!

This little hidden gem is a must! If you’re down for amazing service(Jody rocks) with equally amazing food, this is a spot for you. Make sure you bring a «growling stomach» because the portions are hefty.

The portions are big and the bread is made fresh daily. I usually get the chicken fried steak or the three meat omelet, bring your appetite because both of them are giant! Also get there early or you will have to wait a few minutes, well worth it though.

Highly recommend! We were a group of 9 hungry Jeep enthusiasts looking for brunch after driving 4 days of off-roading in dirt and dust through E. Washington. We called around 1:15pm on a Sunday and they said they closed at 2pm. We booked it over there and not only did they accommodate all our orders, they were even nice enough to let us stay a little bit past closing so we could all finish our food… which was delicious. I ordered one *COCONUTPANCAKE* and it was the size of a frisbee. We appreciated the good food, and great service.

Mostly the food is good. Tastes fresh and homemade. If you get the side of fruit it’s a huge portion and amazing. I love the coconut pancakes. And the chicken friend steak… however the last two times I’ve been there… I found brown hair in my food. I didn’t say anything either time but now I’m kinda grossed out. I might just be bad luck. Sometimes these things happen. The food comes out fairly quickly even when they’re busy. A couple of the long term waitresses are super great, I’ve had a few that cant refill my coffee or water and when asked has given me a look like I’m bothering them. It’s hard to know if you’re gonna get a nice server or a not so nice server… That’s why they get a 3. A few good things. A few bad things. I also love love the homemade toast and the jam that comes with most breakfast meals. UPDATE: I called in a to-go order here last Friday morning. They said about 15 min. I came in about 15min later. I stood up front for about 10 minutes and not a single person acknowledged me. They all walked past me and ignored me. They were standing around talking to eachother. They wouldn’t even give me eye contact like they were just trying to get someone else to do it. Rediculous. And finally I just left I was angry. My food was up the whole time and it was just sitting getting cold. I was just gonna leave the food because as far as I’m concerned you don’t deserve my business and never will again. It was that bad. My boyfriend went in cause he’s super sweet and wanted to make things right. He stood up there for about 7 min when he finally flagged someone down… he had to literally say«can i be helped» He had a line of people behind him getting up from their tables to pay because no one was serving on them! He finally brings me the food and says«you were right we should have left, the girl that helped me was very rude and all the people behind me were upset cause no one was helping them» They had 4 girls that I saw for sure. This is completely outrageous and rude and they weren’t even busy.

EXCELLENT!!! Found my new breakfast spot when visiting and good thing I don’t live here because I would be here everyday. :). Great food, good portions, excellent service and the toast oooooooooo homemade sourdough bread was a hit out of the ballpark. I’m also picky with coffee and the brand they serve was just right for me. Not too dark, just right. Constantly filling your cup without asking for a refill. GREATPLACE — YOUMUSTTRY.(I think they’re closed on Mondays)

Going loco for coco!!! OMgoodness. The Husband and I were heading down to Seattle from Bellingham and wanted to stop for breakfast along the way. Based on the Unilocal reviews, we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Happy happy joy joy. It is definitely a spot for the locals but you don’t feel like you are excluded or ignored at all. It is a very friendly and welcoming place. We told our waitress Sierra that it was our first time there and she smiled and said it was her first day so from that point on, we had a connection. She was so friendly and helpful. Coffee never got below the halfway point and she checked back frequently to see how we were doing. I asked her how big the coconut pancakes were and her eyes got wide and she exclaimed huge! So based on that I just ordered one with two pieces of bacon on the side. The price was awesome, just six dollars for that. I have never had coconut pancakes before but they were soooooo good. Crunchy pieces of coconut and nuts inside, it was sweet so did not need syrup at all. Next time I would probably get the whipped cream on the side. Bacon was thick and cooked just right. I could not finish it all, I was so stuffed. The husband got the Denver omelette with pepper jack cheese, huge chunks of veggies and ham in it. Hashbrowns were crisp on outside, cooked just right. Homemade bread and jam. We saw the cinnamon rolls(which were GINORMOUS) and were tempted to get one to go but resisted. Just gives us an excuse to go back!

My buddies and I were in town on the way to Oyster Run in Anacortes. We were cold from riding the motorcycles for hours. Stopped by here for lunch and hot coffees. The place was pretty busy, but the waitress still able to take care of us. Food was great, price was right, people are nice. For sure will come back again next time I am in town again!

A sweet place! The restaurant was packed on this Tuesday morning. And everybody was happily enjoying their meals. I got the cheese omelette and am happy I did. Very generous portions of eggs and hash browns and toast with homemade strawberry jam. My friends, who took us here and actually live in the Valley, feel Joy’s has the best omelettes around. Situated in lovely downtown Sedro Woolley, it feels like an all-American diner so you know you’ll not go away hungry. I look forward to my return visit and ordering up some of those famous coconut pancakes.
