I ordered a baked potato thinking no one could ruin that, but I was wrong. It was almost inedible. I mentioned it to the waitress and it didn’t appear on our bill. My husband’s burger was okay only. We won’t be going back, which is too bad since Sedro-Woolley needs more good restaurants.

Another great choice for breakfast in S-W! I have to admit, I was looking forward to going to Joy’s Bakery in S-W for breakfast this morning… but it turns out Joy’s is closed on Monday’s. *** sad trombone *** We saw the Hometown Café across the street and checked it out here on Unilocal.Fortunately we didn’t pass it by just because of some old low ratings because it was a great breakfast. I had an omelette with hash browns and toast, my wife had bacon and eggs with a really good homemade biscuit instead of toast. The service was friendly and attentive — I couldn’t drink my coffee fast enough for them to refill it as many times as they offered to. Joy’s is great. But so is the Hometown Café. I guess I’m going to have to have more breakfast in S-W from now on.

The service is friendly, the atmosphere is very small town, yet the food is passable but not great.

Stopped in for lunch while out on a motorcycle ride. I got a French dip with a salad and my buddy got a roast beef sandwich with soup. The service and atmosphere were fine. The only issues we had were with the food. Not much beef on my sandwich, and my friend(who usually inhales everything) only had about half of his soup. It was French onion and didn’t have the usual blob of cheese nor croutons(we think it came from a can). I was hoping that this place would be gem, but was mistaken. Should have gone elsewhere, or perhaps had breakfast instead. The locals appeared to enjoy the breakfast fare.

I’d love to give it 3 stars like the previous reviewer, for heart, but the food and cleanliness of the establishment are just too poor quality to do so. Hashbrowns are soggy, eggs are flavorless, bacon felt almost bendy(like plastic) & chewy, and the bread was of a wonderbread quality. It just was not a great experience, should have trusted our instinct when we walked in the door but… sometimes you just have to try it to find out. Unfortunately paying for such experiences leaves one even more frustrated. It does seem to be very popular with the biker crowd, although many days the café across the street seems even busier.

The Hometown Café is your basic small town«greasy spoon» with a lotta heart. It’s high walls are covered with historical logging photos and Harley swag, and the tables are generally full of locals. We stop here every so often while out on a Sunday motorcycle ride and have a late breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon. The food is served in generous portions and is filling. The waitresses are quick to refill your coffee. You can catch a little of the M’s game which is generally playing on a TV near the kitchen. It’s all good — particularly if you’re in a «road trip» kind of mindset.
