Just got home! So stuffed! The hubbie & I took the afternoon off to have a badly need«lunch/dinner» out. WOW been wanting to get over there again for some time. So glad we did. He had shrimp & scallop combo & I got whole belly clams & scallop combo, each a cup of New England clam chowder. It was all really good! Very reasonable prices too.

Lunch was excellent! I had fish tacos with french fries and Cole slaw. My wife had the fish sandwich with french fries and Cole slaw. Nice portion for lunch. With 2 sodas the bill came to $ 22 plus tip. The waitress was very pleasant and knowledgable. Would definitely go again.

We went here last week for the first time. There was a Groupon deal and we decided to take a chance. Glad we did! We had a great dinner experience. We arrived around 5 and was able to get the last table. Thank goodness we went early. Within a half hour the place was packed. There was a line out the door for takeout. Prices are very reasonable. Our meals were delicious. We had the chowder, spicy Tuna sandwich, Sea Scallop Carbonara and burger/fries. Everything was delicious. The fries are cut fresh and cooked to perfection. Our server Nicole was wonderful. Even with the place so busy, she checked on us often. Even the manager came around the tables to check on everyone. We can’t wait to go back.

Use to go with first Owners. Had a few hiccups. Everyone deserves a second chance. They have wonderful seafood. My husband and I have never really had a bad meal there. New owners much improved on getting the food out. Wait staff very pleasant Only 2 suggestions Get a Rhode Island clear chowder on they menu. And I know you can ask for baked scrod. But a lot of your customers don’t. And that’s just a seafood staple. Keep up the great work.

First time at Capt Jack’s and I gotta say it was awesome. Fish sandwich. delicious. Cajun aioli for dipping. fantastic. Clam cakes. wowza. As a native new englander those were by far the best clam cakes that I have ever had. There is some sort of secret spice in them that was out of this world. Our server, Nicole, was the best. She kept our drinks full and knew exactly what we needed when we needed it. She was super attentive and really added to our enjoyment of the night. There was definitely a server there with a name tag that said ‘captain morgan’ which I thought was hysterical. I thought the icing on the cake was that they were playing pirate movies on the tvs but when the movie ended they put on Elf!!! Seriously great stuff. Let’s not forget a shoutout to Captain Mark working his butt off to make sure everyone was happy. Nicely done Capt Jack’s. nicely done.

I spend every weekend and gansett during the summer and didn’t think a restaurant in a strip mall no where near the ocean could compete, but I was mistaken. Their Manhattan chowder was really good and I had an excellent plump lobster roll as well. I overheard a waitress tell a customer that they never freeze or microwave anything which is a comforting policy. I will likely be back.

Went here today for the first time since Cameron took over. First thing I noticed was the fish tank was gone and added were some much needed high tables and stools. There is a difference between eating and dining and today was one of the best dining experiences I have had over lunch. The chowder was a great new england thin chowder with plenty of clams. We had the fish cakes which again were perfect along with the fries and cole slaw. The coffee was made as we were finishing so we stayed a little longer and also enjoyed the key lime pie. The prices here are very fair and the service perfect. Thanks to the staff for making my day wonderful.

Amazing food. Fresh and tasty. Staff were exceptional. We ordered clam cakes, chowder, oysters, calamari, and lobster rolls. Beer was nice and cold as well. They have great specials. Cant wait to go back. Its nice to know that fresh seafood is right down the road and you don’t have to drive to Narragansett for it. They own the seafood market right next door which gets fresh seafood daily– it shows with the quality of food we received.

I’ve been twice and have enjoyed the food very much. The owner always comes out to the table to be sure everything is ok. I’ve had the lobster roll which was delicious and very well priced. The French fries are the best ever. I’d make the trip just for the fries

My 2nd time at captain jacks the dinning room is small about 15 tables inside and 2 outside with 3 flatscreen televisions playing kids shows. They have beer and wine prices start around $ 4. Seafood is all fresh I was afraid to order the fish and chips at an 8.99 price point but it was fantastic! I also did a small order of clam cakes all good. Thing I like most is all the food has character eats way to explain it is it seems like it’s all made by a chef not a cook. Our waitress Monica was very helpful with advice. In a nut shell check this place out if your in the area

Was there this evening with my two daughters and my wife for Fathers Day for the first time. We had reservations for 630pm and arrived at 615pm and was sat down almost immediately. Very small place for a seafood restaurant. I feel they have a large extensive menu and not enough help especially in the kitchen. I also am very upset about how our service was on Father’s Day. I do have to say we ordered my kids food and our chowders and then our food right away for our dinners and it took almost 50−60min to receive our dinner for my wife and I. At that point I told the waitress to box it. I was so upset I called the waitress over and said where is our dinner, because other tables of larger parties are receiving there’s and we are still awaiting. She replied its coming soon. At that point I told her to box it and I’m very upset on how this place operates. Very not organized and very upset and disappointed with the Owner Jim he went around to all the tables and never came to us about a stove issue. It was our first visit and it will be our LAST visit. I hope everyone reads this review. We will never return it’s also not fair to have to leave a start rating I’m leaving one star but it’s not worth none. Ty

We had dinner here on Memorial Day, after seeing a recommendation on Facebook. Never again. They were out of many things on the menu, including the special of the day. The service was terrible, took 45 minutes to get an appetizer, and then we had to wait another 5 minutes for utensils. The appetizer was not cooked, and we sent it back. The dinners came and the seafood was awful. Being native New Englanders, we know good seafood, and this was not even close. We ordered Chowder and clamcakes, and scallops. All of the staff looked very young, and no one seemed to be in charge. Should have gone to Iggys.

Went there for the first time today. I had the hot buttered lobster roll and the wife had clam cakes and chowder. I enjoyed the lobster roll. It wasn’t huge but had plenty of lobster and no junk fillers, just lobster. The fries were outstanding and even the cole slaw was good. That’s one of those things that many places overlook. The wife had the clam cakes and chowder. The share factor was zero. That means it was good enough that she ate it all and I didn’t get(have) to take care of any leftovers. The service was prompt and polite. My only gripe is that they have the same straight backed bench seating that so many clam shacks seem to have. I don’t know why that is but anyone who has had a meal at a New England clam shack type place knows what I mean. That uncomfortable straight, solid seating is usually the reason we don’t stay for dessert. We will definitely go back and would certainly recommend it to anyone who likes seafood. There are plenty of menu options and some are a little more than you see in the average small seafood joint. I’ll be trying those after lobster season.

Went on a weekday for lunch. The place is small, but can get busy. There was only one server, so it was a bit slow, but it is very clean and I did not mind waiting a bit. The server was really good and checked and made sure everyone had water and drink refills. I had a bowl of the white clam chowder and it was really good. I like it more milky then creamy(i don’t want my spoon to stand up in it because it’s so think.) No problem here! Excellent flavor, big chunks of fresh clams. Nice change! I ordered the«hot» lobster roll,($ 12.99) which was lobster chunks(claws and knuckles) sauteed in hot butter and thyme. It was pretty good. I would like to try the«cold» one next time, The thing is, I like a little filler(mayo) and I think they just put lobster meat on the roll. It came with coleslaw which i did not like — too vinegary for me. Then the hand cut french fries — oh my! Skin on, hand cut fries that tasted amazing. Just a plate of those would be awesome! All in all I was really pleased and will go back soon. They have daily specials– the day I was there was all the clam cakes and chowder you can eat for $ 7.99. And on Thurs night I think they have buck a shuck starting at 5 pm. Some of the dinners sounded amazing, so will try those next!

I just went there with my dad for lunch. He had been there several times before and highly recommended it. This was my first. I’m not sure what the other reviews were saying about the space. It looked fine to me. Everything was shiny, new, and clean. I ordered the fried oyster plate. Only $ 12.99. It was excellent. Their french fries were much better than average too. My dad had the baked fish sandwich. Excellent also. There was only one waitress, but she was trying her best to make everyone happy. She succeeded with us! Check out their menu. They run some really good daily specials throughout the week.

The best way to describe this«restaurant» is eh. It seems as though they just moved into a run down, outa business diner with minimal touch ups. The food was mediocre at best and took almost 45 minutes to get. The cook was sitting at a table talking to what I found out to be his«homies» in their farewells. If you can cook it yourself, you’re better off! But if ya really want good seafood, look elsewhere because this place doesn’t have it…

I have been here twice now. I live nearby and love their ocean fresh seafood store next door, so I really want them to succeed. My first visit the service was terrible, they did give is a free desert to make up for the delay. My entrée(sea scallops), not good, had a funny taste, I assumed from the cooking surface. My fiancé had the king crab legs and we shared a dozen oysters, both of those were delicious! Second trip. Our meals were great(king crab legs and bay scallops), the service was terrible. It was 40 plus minutes before we got our entrees, we did not have appetizers and I had to flag someone down to get another drink. We will go back again, but they really need to improve the service if they hope to survive.
