Dopped off a snow blower for a chute repair, Told them I was travelling for 3 weeks then only back for 2 days and I needed to have the repair and pickup within that window. Repair was done as requested. Chute works better than originally did Cost to repair was lower than expected, This is the place to go

Hello, very expensive here, even for a simple repair. Markup on parts seems to be over 20%,(I bought the part today myself). Got an estimate from a few places, here was 80.00 $ over! Get as many over the phone estimates as you can, you save on pick up and delivery of ur machine, but they make up for it with labor$$$. Too bad, could have been a good local place to turn.

SSE does all my work on anything with a motor. They do an awesome job at a reasonable price. Never a problem, and they pick up and deliver.

3 days for a kind sorta somewhat«not sure if I can fix it but it will be at least 400.00 if you want me to try!!!» The guy in charge is never there enough to actually put quality time into the work. It was my first experience and my last with them 50.00 for them to pick it up guess what’s wrong with it and drop it off wft. If you aren’t interested in how long it takes or how much you spend I guess you could try this place.

I don’t understand the attitude they have. Took weeks for them to even get around to ordering a part, and the only reason they did it then was because I called in wondering why it was taking so long. When I complained that I would have to hire someone to mow my lawn, they offered to have one of their friends do it for a price. Gee, thanks. Don’t like them at all.

Two years ago I tried to fix the electric starter on my snow blower(it turns out it wasn’t broken, but that’s a story for another day) and I ended up completely breaking it(I am a techie, not a machinist, leave me alone!). This year I put some oil in the snow blower and pulled the cord again and again and again(because the electric starter was still broken of course), and the snow blower wouldn’t start. Even worse, it was leaking oil everywhere. I called SSE and that same day they picked up the snow blower and within a week I had it back good as new. Here’s what I really appreciated about the whole experience: 1. They offer pickup/delivery service and charged me all of $ 10(I believe the charge varies depending on how far away you live from them). I know of no other local repair shop that does that, and as I don’t have a vehicle that can transport a snow blower this is key for me. 2. Within two days of SSE picking it up I received a call telling me that(a) the starter was broken(of course it was, I broke it!) and that it would cost $ 235 to replace, and(b) it was leaking oil because I had overfilled the reservoir, not because of a busted hose or anything. 3. Within seven days I had the snow blower back, which included the New Year’s holiday. I tried starting it by pulling the cord as I wanted to see how it would start without using the electric start, and it roared to life. For $ 270 they repaired the electric starter and performed a tuneup and I really appreciate the fact that they were honest throughout the entire process. I’m always afraid of repair shops because I don’t know anything about engines so I feel like I could be taken advantage of, but I definitely feel like I was charged an honest price and now I’m ready for any snow that comes my way!
