Sami’s

Used to work at the Denny’s beside this place and would almost always go there on break for their calzones or a slice. So damn good, I’d still go daily if I was local.

We love this place! Great hot subs and garlic knots!

This was the moat disgusting pizza I’ve ever eaten. The crust was okay but the“sausage” didn’t even taste like sausage and the onions and peppers tasted like they were rotten. Yuck!

Do not let the outside appearance deter you! Yes, it’s connected to a gas station but this pizza is AMAZING. I ordered 4 large pizzas for 12 hungry men and they all raved about how delicious it was. We actually had a whole pizza leftover (the pizzas are huge). You MUST try Sami’s! The pizza is true NY style, fresh, huge slices. I love that it is locally owned and operated. The customer service is spectacular, I was pleasantly surprised! Can’t wait to go back.

Best pizza in smithfield that isn’t a chain! You may wait a little while if it’s a Friday night or weekend but you can’t go wrong! Definitely worth the wait!

Best Traditional NY style pizza in Johnston County. Slices always served. Pizza crust thin and firm with great toppings available.

Very good. I had the sausage pizza and hubby had the chicken Parmesan. The real deal.

Just as another reviewer said do NOT be afraid that this place is attached to a gas station! It’s really, really good!
FOOD — 5 stars
NY style pizza with a nice, chewy, thin crust. Sauce had a good flavor with enough seasoning, and not too sweet. Cheese pizza was seasoned with herbs. The large 18″ pizza we got (eat in) came out hot and the cheese didn’t side off like it might with some fresh out of the oven pizzas. The 18″ came in 8 huge slices. Not the best pizza I’ve ever had but really, really good and shockingly GREAT for an exit off interstate 95 in NC!
ATMOSPHERE — 4 stars

Clean tables. Very small eat in area… Can’t change that. Restrooms were clean. Menu was a bit hard to read. I missed that there were cannoli when I was ordering because another sign blocked the menu a bit.
SERVICE — 4 stars
Staff was fast and pleasant (maybe could have been a bit more friendly for the extra star! But really were fine, they just didn’t engage in any extra conversation.)
Overall 4+ stars we will be back for sure when traveling this way!

Nice little place, with excellent food. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem so close to my hotel. The staff were very friendly, and took the time to get to know me and my preferences, making my next trip/​delivery much easier.
I would recommend the stuffed shells. I had them three times this week! The red sauce was excellent and very fresh tasting. It’s too bad that I am only here a week and will not be able to try anything else. I miss the really good Italian pizzeria’s like we used to have back home in Florida when I was growing up. Not too many in Tennessee, where I now live.
Give them a shot, you will be glad that you did.

The food is good, better than a chain like subway. It is locally owned and appears to be run the owner. The only criticism is it probably could stand to be a little cleaner.

The pizza is excellent. It’s hard to find decent pizza around here but Samis does the trick! If was rating on pizza alone I’d probably give this place 5 stars. However, the staff is why I’m only giving 3. They are not very pleasant and whenever I’ve gone there (3 times so far) I almost feel as if I’m annoying them with my presence. Not the way you should feel/​be treated when you’re giving someone business. My husband and I ordered 2 pizzas today, a traditional and a buffalo chicken. The buffalo chicken could’ve used more meat but They were both great. But the wings we ordered were terrible. I could only eat half of one. They were soggy and chewy, the exact opposite of what I like in a wing personally. I’ll definitely keep ordering due to the pizza and close proximity to my work, but they need to step up the service.

We just moved to the area and wanted a pizza place that delivers. We were reluctant, but pleasantly surprised. Sami’s not just a pizza place it has a large menu and all 3 times we’ve eaten their food everything was delicious.

Back again after few years. Traveling down 95south. Their lasagne is as good as I remember!
Not too over sauced. And not too dry. A lot of layers making it thick and really tasty. Haven’t tried the pizza cuz when I pass through I’m craving their lasagne.
This place is no Vincenzo Cucina Italiana or Ciao Italia, but for $ 7 you can’t go wrong the quality is real.
It’s a small mom n pop place but the employees are really nice. Southern hospitality with NYC styled Italian food. Weird but they make it work!

Stopped here on the way home on 95 north. It’s a tiny place but the pizza is decent. The staff are really friendly.

Coming from new York City, good pizza is hard to find anywhere else but we were very pleasantly surprised, especially for a place connected to a gas station. We were staying at the quality inn a few minutes away and too tired to go out and Sami’s was a fantastic choice.
Absolutely no regrets and a very pleasant suprise.
If we are ever in the area will definitely order again.
P.s helps that the deliver to the inn !

I’m not sure if I went on a bad day or something, but all of these really let me down. The pizza is greasy, soggy, and bland. The service was awful. I’m writing the review as I eat because they must put something in the food to get all these good reviews and I don’t want to be affected by it lol.

Really good pizza. Found this place on Unilocal,and it was as many have described… gas station, no frills, but, great pizza. Was passing thru this area on 95, made a quick stop for late dinner. I’d order for takeout all the time if I lived in the area ! Locals have a great convenient reasonable place for quality pizza !

Great pizza. The extra large is great deal. The people who work there aren’t super friendly but they get the job done. We eat here at least once a month.
