We visited during Lavender Festival July 2015 and it was a fabulous first experience to our first lavender farm! This was our first stop outside of Port Angeles en route to the heart of Sequim and we decided to give Martha Lane a try. We are so glad we made the trek to this delightful farm just a few miles from Port Angeles. Martha Lane sits off the main highway on a dusty road and there were a few tight spots where one car would have to back up a bit to yield to the other but once you got down the dusty lane, it was a treat to feast the eyes upon a large grass lot(which we parked). We did not have to pay for parking or admission as this was part of Lavender Fest 2015 so we lucked out. We sampled the lavender cookies, the lavender lemonade and the lavender ice cream — all were fabulous, to me anyway(the kid did not like lavender-flavored anything) and it was all served out of the lavender shed on the premises. We took a few photos in the lavender fields and wished we could patronize the cut flowers to take home but we were only traveling through and doubted that Hawaii agriculture would allow us to haul back fresh flowers from Washington. The lavender shoppe was a quaint little house filled with treasures of lavender art, trinkets, perfumes, lip balms, candies, sugars, home décor and everything pretty! I am planning on returning to Sequim for another round of Lavender goodness, and when I do, Martha Lane will be on the list again!

I only have a couple of things to say, and they both have to do with customer service. The first is, we were greeted upon arrival. It was August, so we missed the harvest and the lavender was dried up, but the owner offered to send us off with a few samples, and invited us to explore the farm. After sulking about, we entered her store(reluctantly, since it is also apparently her home) and were treated to the scent of lavender wafting throughout the neatly and delicately decorated store. On the counter rested three types of lavender, wrapped with a small purple ribbon, and the owner was kind enough to also direct us to another lavender farm nearby. I’d like to return sometime when lavender is in full bloom :)

Friendly staff & the owner actually walked by, said HI, and answered my complicated question about a variety of Lavender(during Lavender Fest weekend). This is not a big farm, unlike those more well known ones in Sequim, but their staff show lots of knowledge on different lavender plants and there are actually lots to see on site. They were one of the very few farms that carries Coconut Ice variety for sale.
