We were pleasantly surprised with our last minute decision to stay over in Seymour. Generally I’m not impressed by anything when we come to visit, most things are run down and out of date. The Hampton is up to date, incredibly comfortable bed, nice looking room and furniture and the continental breakfast had a lot to offer, including a pour your own waffle station(limited protein options). We were also happy to be able to use the state employee discount(we work at IU and some hotels will accept that if you ask), saving us $ 30

My family and I stayed here for 5 nights. The beds and blankets are very comfortable. The breakfast is really good and they have a nice selection. The pool is ok, it is small but the kids seem to have fun. I would say 90% of the staff is friendly. I would have given this place a five star but they put us in a «under construction» area for the five nights. It only woke us up once though. I recommend this hotel and would return.

Updated on 5−15−15. I stay at this hotel several times every year when traveling for work. Hospitality at front desk and breakfast attendant is always exceptional. Rooms are being renovated and they are very, very nice! Beds are super comfortable and the shower is excellent. The breakfast is above average with several hot choices. Today it included really decent western omelettes and French toast among other items. Fresh cut fruit bowl and a slow cooker of old fashioned oats make my morning. The breakfast area is always clean and well-stocked. There are also grab-and-go breakfast bags near the front door that contain muffins, fruit and a bottle of water. There is also a free«Happy Hour» with snacks and drinks. Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are served free to guests. This is probably the nicest hotel at this price point that I stay in, definitely the best hospitality.

Not up to par with other Hampton Inn’s but I have to consider it’s «under construction» so the room I was in must be one that’s up for remodel. Front desk was courteous and warm/genuine along with helpful. The décor is very nice in the lobby, and the internet is on par with other Hampton Inn’s so I cannot complain. I viewed the rooms next door at the Holiday Inn Express and learned it’s owned by the same party that owns the Hampton Inn, but I really REALLY wish I’d gone there instead… the rooms at the Holiday Inn Express are new and updated, which I’m hoping the Hampton gets to eventually.

Holy Hell. Do not stay in this place if you have any sensitivity to smell whatsoever. It reeks to high heaven. When you walk in to the building you are slapped with the delightful combo of cleaning chemicals, burnt coffee and chlorine. The cleaning chemicals are so strong you can taste it and it burns your eyes. When you step into your room it smells like someone plugged an air freshened into every outlet and closed the door for a month. The windows don’t open and there is no fan in the bathroom. We switched rooms to a different floor on the other side of the hotel. It was still so bad that after 30 minutes we couldn’t take it anymore and had to leave. The inside of my nose feels like I have chemical burns. I may have cancer and I definitely have a migraine.

As you are well aware, Seymour has nothing. It is the very definition of small town America. I stayed one night at this establishment and the rooms were very nice and renovated. The hotel offered free cocktails in the lobby during the evening. The breakfast is horrible, but the staff is very friendly.
