What a disappointment. I went with a friend for breakfast and they didn’t have breakfast selection. The only breakfast choices were flat breads or French toast. When we ordered the waitress said they had an assortment of pressed juices we were under the assumption that they were fresh pressed they were bottled and $ 6 a bottle. We both the French toast and and it was nothing special it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything to come back for I could’ve easily made the same thing at home. The good things were everyone was very friendly and it’s cute atmosphere. I had such high hopes for this establishment.

What a great little find in downtown Seymour. It’s nice to see places like this popping up in the valley. Farm fresh salads, tasty seasonal soups, and an array of deli sandwiches on some tasty bread. I had perfectly prepared butternut squash and apple soup with a spinach strawberry salad, which was beautifully plated. My aunt, grandmother and friend each enjoyed a sandwich. Everyone was pleased with the food but I have to take off one star for the dirty silverware in which we had to ask for another set and the extremely slow service.

Wow, what a find! Hard to find delicious and wholesome foods when eating out. This café has such a fantastic selection of healthy, delightful foods! Can’t recommend it enough! So many tasty options it felt impossible to decide! Everything we ordered was a winner!

LOVE this place!!! They offer real food farm to table that supports community and healthy living. Many smiling faces on both staff and customers … Charming place … Like a step back in time to when life wasn’t so stressful . Great music that reflects the spirit of the place played live often. :)

Interesting place to eat with it being a small general store serving ice cream and local products. Nice Farm to Table meals, friendly service and if you hit it right, great live music. Used a Groupon deal for dinner for 2 but unless you bought it with a percentage off deal, ours was only $ 4 less than their fixed price. Great cookies!

Not impressed. Understaffed and messed up every sandwich order at the table. They did correct them but it was a long wait from walking in and ordering.

Farm to table and locally sourced. This place is as hipster and granola as they get. Bring your camera all this food is very photogenic. But i can never wait long enough to take a picture. I just dive right in. This is some of the best bacon i have ever had. The sandwich combos are well thought out and cleverly paired. Priced very reasonably. We have a few favorite places and this one is quickly moving up the list. After lunch go 1 exit to fountain lake for a quick romantic stroll. My 2 favorite seymour places. Enjoy a stroll through old seymour and all the antique shops. Relax and enjoy.

Excellent Wednesday night. They stay open till 10pm with an open mic. Good is great and local. Feels more like Vermont than Seymour.

We had their delicious and healthy salad after our amazing facial session at the red clover say spa. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Came all the way from SF and bought a Groupon. We definitely lucked out. This place is a gem in a wonderful little town. You check in over at their awesome General Store, make your lunch decision, and they walk you across the street. After those girls worked their magic on our faces, shoulders, head, and legs, we head back over to kill those salads. Sad this little place is on the otherside of the country. Definitely a highly recommended spot!

This is a great little spot. Everything is homemade and locally-minded. The server was super sweet, the place is cozy and the food was great. I recommend a day trip to Seymour with lunch here, spa across the street and some vintage store shopping. We look forward to returning for music and dinner. This is the kind of business that we should be supporting as a society.

As we walked by the window and peered in, we quickly realized our required reservation(according to the Groupon which we purchased) was not needed. The entire restaurant was empty at 6PM on a Friday, save for a table of the staff and whomever they were associating with, sitting around with beers(which are oddly enough not served there). We were promptly greeted from a seated position as we walked in, and upon finding out we had reservations for 2, we were lead over to a table for 4 with a reserved sign on it. I found that odd since there were several empty tables of two, but I digress. The Groupon was for $ 78 dollars worth of food at a reduced price(the amount I paid eludes me at the moment, but I think it was around $ 45). Since we bought the groupon we were served a «limited» menu, although there was an actual menu other guests were able to order from. We had no physical menu, but the waitress allowed us to view it on her iPad. We had a choice of 3 appetizers, 4 entrees, 2 desserts, and a few drinks(lemonade, iced tea, water, or soda. As I said earlier, no beer.). Let’s start with the appetizer. A cheese plate! Something wonderful, which would pair amazingly with a glass of wine, I thought. Well, no luck on the wine but we gave it a shot anyway. Out it comes. The first thing I notice on the plate — 3 big pieces of room temperature bacon. It was okay. Old, I’m sure. And kind of intrusive on a cheese plate. We each had 4 half slices of bread, for a total of 4 whole pieces on the plate. Whole leaf spinach was haphazardly scattered throughout. Apple slices. Tons of apple slices. Two spreads for the bread, our choice of what tastes exactly like regular cream cheese, and something that tasted suspiciously like Welch’s grape jelly. Everything listed above was riddled with poppy seeds shaken on by, I can only assume, my heavily arthritic, farsighted grandmother. On to the cheeses. Two types. I know one was Swiss, and I think the other was a smoked muenster. I can’t be sure, because nothing was explained. Did I mention that the cheese in the cheese plate was just halved deli slices? Because it was. So to recap, our cheese plate consisted of apples, four pieces of bread, three pieces of bacon, cream cheese, grape jelly, and two types of deli sliced cheeses, all riddled with poppy seeds. «Farm fresh»? On to our entrees. We had a choice of four, although after allowing us to decide what we wanted we were informed that list was whittled down to three. Luckily we didn’t want the meal that didn’t make the cut, but it was still disheartening nonetheless. We ordered the smoked chicken with fig and orange. When it arrived, I wasn’t sure what I was looking at and, again, nothing was explained. There were 5 – 6 perfectly round slices of chicken served on a pile of risotto(maybe. I’m not sure what it was exactly. Wasn’t listed on the menu, that’s all I know.) and all of this was serves on loose leaf spinach again. The chicken had good flavor, though the texture was slightly off putting. The risotto or whatever it may have been was good, but undercooked, and was hard to eat since every forkful would bring up a few spinach leafs. Also, I should mention, I didn’t notice any orange or fig, though the risotto was on the sweet side, so they may have been finely diced into that. Dessert was next. We each ordered pie topped with ice cream. The best part of the entire meal was the ice cream. The pie wasn’t bad but one of the berries I bit into was frozen, which leads me to believe these were not«fresh». For a place that touts«farm fresh» as a selling point, not a single dish was explained to us, as far as origin goes. It could have all come from stop and shop for all we knew. I honestly think the cheese plate did. The staff was friendly and checked on us often, albeit too often, but it’s better to have and not need than to need and not have. When all was said and done, I don’t believe the meal we received was worth the price of the $ 45 Groupon, never mind the projected $ 78 value.

Because Red Clover Café advertises their ‘Farm to Table Dinnwr’ and it has a limited dinner menu, one might assume those particular dishes are above average in preparation and taste. However, this is not the case. Their Pasta Primavera consisted of pasta and sauce(tasted bottled) and spinach– 5 leaves to be exact! Now I don’t know about you, but my experience with a usual ‘primavera’ dinner has been a plate loaded with veggies, as well as pasta. Very, very disappointing! The General Store that houses the café is old– fashioned adorable. The concepts of Connecticut-grown and Farm to Table is a terrific idea. Nevertheless, a better chef is needed there to call it a success.

I love the idea of this place. It’s cozy, well-decorated and the staff is very friendly and they obviously are working hard to make it work, with lots of interesting things in the shop/restaurant. BUT two things have to change right away. When we arrived, we considered sitting down for lunch, but the piano player was so loud we thought better of it. I love the piano, but I actually had to leave before our take-out sandwiches were ready — my poor friend stayed to endure the cacophony. Meanwhile, an older couple was eating lunch in the dining room, unable to chat with each other thanks to the noise — and I wondered why they weren’t bothered by it. Well, it turns out they WERE. As they left, the husband noted that he was also a pianist and had told the café owner(whom they know) about the deafening(or at least conversation-killing) decibel. Yet, there was the piano player still obliviously pounding away on the upright. Now this next complaint might seem like I’m being too picky, but the other problem is the shop’s Peanut Brittle. At least that’s what it says it is on the package. Unfortunately, it bears little resemblance to any peanut brittle I’ve ever met except in appearance. It tastes like grainy, coagulated sugar — no hint of «brittle» — and stale, soggy nuts to boot. It’s made by a N. Grosvenordale, CT company, and I’ll even give them the benefit of the doubt and say this might have been just a bad batch, but here’s the part I simply can’t believe: For a 12 oz. package — to give you an idea of the size, it would hold a decent slice of birthday cake or pie — the cost was $ 14.95!!! I truly thought it cost about $ 6-$ 7, maybe even $ 8. But $ 15!!! Ridiculous.

This has become my new favorite place to eat! They are consistently delicious! I just opened an antiques and vintage store right around the corner from these guys and try to get lunch here as much as possible. So far everything I’ve eaten here is amazing! Highly recommended!
